Enjoyed a long weekend with another couple. We had adjoining rooms with an awesome front porch with rockers.Great for relaxing. Beds were very comfortable, rooms were spacious. Shower pressure was a little weak but lots of hot water. Donkey hee haws in the pen behind us kept us laughing. And we enjoyed the pigs nipping at each other. LOVED the coffee service - wish it arrived at 0630 instead of 7 - but awesome with yummy pastries. The hot tub was spacious, great temperature - but a little dirty - enjoyed it anyway. Horse rides and guides - especially Grant - were tons of fun - great horses - nice trails - beautiful scenery. The fishing guides were the best! Thank you Hunter, Justin, Zeb and Jordon - they all know their stuff, were very patient, great sense of humor and we caught fish!!! Didn't stay long enough to enjoy other outdoor activities. Inside activities were fun - enjoyed Trivia night and the paintings. Food - breakfast was always awesome, especially the outdoors one. The sandwich buffet was OK - would have preferred a hot sandwich. The fish tacos were supreme as was the coleslaw. Dinners were good (yummy salmon and steak) - with the exception of the wild boar which was tough. Overall great stay - would definitely go back and highly recommend! What was included for alcohol was confusing - we do wish we had brought our own. But their prices are very reasonable.…
Our recent stay at Rawah Ranch was simply amazing and so much more fun than anticipated. The staff was incredible and I would have loved to have taken all of them back home with me. Every day was filled to capacity with events and outings. The food was incredible! We had every amenity you could imagine offered to us. Great family vacation and will have years of wonderful memories to share from this expedience.
I had an awesome time at Rawah with my 12 year old son. We are novice riders and were quickly galloping on great horses with good guides. Our "Old Bunk House" cabin was as comfy as the picture and the early morning coffee and danishes were nice. My son and I loved all the activities - shooting, fly fishing, game room, lawn games, nightly bonfire, etc. Meg and Tim have created a wonderful and warm experience with caring staff. There's no wifi or TV in the cabins, and I appreciated that - it's a great getaway in a beautiful valley. The food is great (thank you Chef Ford!). They only host about 30ish guests, so they are able to customize experiences to your interests and ability levels -- we went on most of our rides alone with a guide. No waiting or compromising for others. If you're looking for a five star resort with city-amenities and perfection, I'd look to the few such resort dude ranches that offer that and charge you plenty for it (though I suspect you may not really appreciate the dude ranch experience to begin with). I know a few of those places, but I'm referring those I care about to Rawah. I hesitated to write this review because I fear it will be harder to book when more folks discover it, but I figured I owed it to the staff to share my appreciation. My only caveat is that we were novice riders and fly fishers. If you're more experienced and want a challenge, I suspect Rawah can provide it, but I'd look for reviews from visitors more like yourself.…
I simply cannot say enough about Rawah Ranch! The ENTIRE experience - the staff, cabins, grounds, food, activities - were all top notch and we could not have had a better experience! A guest ranch had always been on my bucket list and I am so glad I followed through with the magic of Rawah. That's the most appropriate word to describe Rawah....MAGIC.
I wish I could give Rawah 10 stars! I have stayed at similar lodges in Colorado and this by far was our favorite. My family of 6, plus parents and in-laws just finished a 4 night stay at Rawah and it was everything we had hoped for in a vacation. Managers Tim and Meg are some of the best people you could meet and really make you feel like the ranch is home. The staff at the ranch, top to bottom, are spectacular. My wife and I would do activities in the AM while the kids did fun activities in the kids camp. Afternoons were often filled with family adventure. At night, Nick and the team had great activities for parents, kids, and staff. Everything we did was top notch and so much fun. For our entire stay our kids never once asked to see their IPads! Cal and Emily were so much fun to be around and took great care of our kids. Our kids could not wait to see them every day. A million compliments as well to Chef Ford and his staff. The food was spectacular. Having two children with severe food allergies, we really appreciated the care Chef Ford and his staff placed on our kids meals. They always had a safe option for all meals and snacks. Even dairy free cookies and hot chocolate in the AM. We stayed in the Cowboys and Indians cabins and it was so much fun watching the moose and deer graze off the back deck. The cabins are very nice, well appointed, and everything you would want in the mountains of Colorado. The ranch overall is very nice. The only downside to our stay is that there is so much to do we simply ran out of time. We will definitely be back next year and this time for a week!…
