The location of AL fanar hotel is really great with an amazing view, however that hotel have definitely seen better days. Seems that they're still relying on old times glory and reputation for their business and maintain the hotel in that era, furniture needs renovation the interior as well as the exterior could use more than just a coat of... The review is for the restaurant, which is built above the shore as part of the resort. The setting is very relaxed and casual, so I did not have high hopes. I was pleasantly surprised with a wide variety of food choices, and everything we tried was quite superb. Coupled with great service, this was definitely a nice experience that... More

This is a quaint but lovely hotel in an excellent location in Tyre. The staff were very friendly and it was for me the best value in the city considering it's position right on the edge of the sea. I noticed some earlier reviewers were not happy with this hotel but during my stay I couldn't fault it

It is a pity as the location is perfect, right next to the ocean and some of the rooms have fabulous views. Nicely situated near the old port and within walking distance from the Ruins. For the amount of money you pay $100 for a double and $120 for a triple you are not getting enough. The rooms desperately need... More

Our group of 4 booked nearly a week in advance, then called to reconfirm 2 days before arriving. The hotel lost our booking. We were lucky to get rooms for the first night; we had to find another hotel for the second night. The service at the bar/restaurant is terrible. We arrived late one evening and checked that the restaurant... More

This hotel is in a large, historic building right on the ocean. I have no idea what the building was originally, though much of it feels like some one's old house that has been converted into a hotel. The entry area is this huge room covered with tarp where you can eat breakfast and hang out at night if you... More

The hotel has an amazing location, and they have a great resturante serving tasty lebanese food. The only negative thing is the rooms. I don't know if alle the rooms are old and have mold, but my room was like this. It was dirty, hade bugs and really needed a redecorating. If you don't mind this then you can stay... More

Shame what has happened to this place. Used to be so charming. I hope they will get their act together but there are no signs that they are even interested in that. Now it is run-down, dirty, cockroach infested, and, contrary to what they say, not all the rooms overlook the water. They have a very small beach, but it's... More
