Bored of Quito, (which is beautiful) I bit off a bit more of an adventure than intended when I had asked Gregory Sanchez (the worlds best cab driver) to take take me to Cotococha from Quito for 200 dollars. I realized as we encountered mudslides, impromptu waterfalls that engulfed the road, giant boulders parked along cliffs that overlooked fatal last... More

We got to the lodge after 6:00 pm. The room did not have the mosquito nets up and the hot water was not turned on. The food was just OK. It was difficult for the vegetarian in our group. They had a blackboard with the dinner menu on it that never changed and was never correct! Please note the juice... More

Had an awesome time at Cotococha. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. They were even so kind when I was sick to make me special tea. Our tour guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable. The rooms did not have hot water, but you can't really expect anything else- you're in the rainforest. I would definitely come back!

Dear guest, we are very happy to hear you had a great time at Cotococha! I will forward your positive comments to the staff at the lodge. Indeed, on less sunny days we do not have much hot water, due to the fact everything works on solar pannels. It also takes some time before the hot water has reached your... More

We had a excellent 5 days experience. Atmosphere, guided trips, food, room: no complaints at all. Very friendly staff and the cook is excellent. The trips with the motorized canoo were great. Our guide spoke good english and it was really a nice amazone expierience.

Absolutely can't fault the staff here, they are all so gracious and kind and made us feel very welcome. Our room was on the edge of the river and surrounded by trees and flowers and masses of butterflies of all colours.. We spent 3 nights and it was a bit of a novelty not having electricity in our room, however... More

We enjoyed our stay, it is fancier than we expected for an Amazon lodge as we are used to camping and hostels. The guides are knowledgable and willing to help with developing your Spanish. Most people at the lodge speak in English and it seems as though they are expected to. I'm not quite sure what people are moaning about,... More

Dear Sarah, Thank you for your comments. As you said the road has a down side, but also a plus side. We hope the ease of access outweigh the noise that the road may cause at times. It is good to hear that you had a nice and relaxing stay with us and enjoyed the jungle experience. Kind regards. More

Really great setting on the Napo river. However, for check in and the first night, the place was being run by a young lady who spoke no English and did little other than hand out a key when we interrupted her use of her smart phone. No information re dinner or breakfast or the next day's activities. The beds are... More

They have delivered what they said they would. However they really need mosquito nets over beds. Cottages near the river are so noisy. Every crawling thing around you is so loud at night, that noise plus the river is little too much at night, but you get used to it after 1-2 days. They have really good happy hour specials... More

As with many other reviews I can't overplay how good this lodge was to stay in. Everything worked well, with excellent service across all areas. There's no wifi (which did cause cold turkey for some!-) and no electricity in the lodges themselves (oil lamps supplied) but that all adds to the correct "feel" of an Amazon Lodge which is away... We had an amazing time at the lodge. The concept of an ecological hotel is amazing especially when in the rainforest. It feels like you are really apart of nature.
