Although the room we chose was small that was because it was half the price of the larger rooms ... and it was still perfectly OK for a stay of a week. The desk staff do not speak much English which is awkward if you have no Japanese but they were as helpful as they could possibly be. Apart from those two small points everything else was perfect and it was very cheap for the quality of establishment. It's right next to the train station but there is virtually no train noise at all in the rooms. I would not hesitate to stay there on my next trip.
Spent 3 lovely nights there - quiet, good location next to train station and Route 19. Love the dining room. The food is of a higher order. The location is just outside Nagoya but it is much quieter. The rooms are large (for Japan) and comfortable.
I've stayed here numerous times on business and am always pleased with the level of service. Good value, easy to get to the train station. 2 grocery stores near by and helpful staff. Highly recommended!
There was two of us in the room and we were comfortable. We only stayed for one night but the beds were very comfortable. There was robes in the room and they were soft. The bathroom was fine and the toilet was western style. The breakfast was delicious.
I will be traveling to Japan next week (May 24) and will once again stay at the Hotel Plaza. I thought to write a review before traveling this time. The Plaza is very convenient to the JR train station, Kashigawa, only steps away. This will be my 4th time staying at the Hotel Plaza. It is the preferred hotel for my company Panasonic SUNX. Having stayed in other Japan business hotels in the past like the Tokyu Inn or Miyako Hotel (Holiday Inn type), the rooms are average to above average in size. Not bad at all. I am able to get a single bed room which is close to an American queen-size. It is quite comfortable for sleeping. Like other reviewers, street noise, even the train station next door, is not an issue. The rooms are very quiet. The temperature control in the room is a little tricky. There is no traditional air conditioning like in American hotels with a single room control, but a smaller air cooler with a control on the cooler. It takes some experimenting. There is no wireless WiFi in the room. Take a long Ethernet cable or bring along a compact "hot spot" you can plug into the hardwired internet outlet. The TV is Japanese language only without even the normal BBC broadcast common in Japanese business hotels. Bring DVDs for entertainment, if needed. I do like the breakfast bar. It is somewhat limited in options, but does have some Western style items like scrambled eggs and corn flakes. It is fixed price, but reasonable at about 1000 yen. For exercise, I run or walk along the main street (508, Shimo Hwy towards the Northeast). I agree that it would be helpful to speak fluent Japanese at the front desk when checking in or out. But I can normally get by with a little "greeting Japanese" and sign language. The price is right at $80USD…
