Nice to have the extra space of this apartment. We enjoyed morning coffee on the small patio, watching fog lift from the valley. We did not have a car ..... that was a problem . We were a '" Vintage couple" that had to rent an expensive "vintage car " in Pienza ! Heed the warning , No public transport . Vilmo was helpful , & fun to have conversation.

You are in a converted, stone and brick farmhouse. It’s not the Hilton. When you check in, Vilmo shows you the apartment with its kitchen, bedroom and bath. In the kitchen there is an assortment of foods and snacks. Fresh eggs, some fruit, yogurt, and even pasta. Okay, that’s cool. Then you go outside to the lawn in front of the house. Magical, bellisimo! Watch the sunset over the Val d'Orcia, one of the most peaceful and lovely valleys in Tuscany. The hilltop village of Pienza is off to the right. In the distance to the left is Mount Amiata, the Tuscany ski resort. You sit in the wood chairs on the grass with a bottle of wine, fresh pecorino cheese, salami or prosciutto, and the fresh loaf of bread you bought in Pienza and enjoy the sunset. When you retire for the night, you sleep in peace on a working farm where olives, grapes, wheat, and legumes are grown. If you need anything, Vilmo is there for you.

I absolutely love staying here. I've stayed in Montello 1, the rooms at the front of the annex building, twice now. A warm friendly welcome, comfortable rooms, peace and quiet, and a view to die for from your own private elevated terrace. Very well situated on a private driveway off a quiet lane giving excellent access to some of the most beautiful small medieval towns in Tuscany. No gated compound, no manicured grounds, just olive trees and arable fields stretching away as far as the eye can see. Recent improvements to the facilities include a large fridge freezer and an excellent, spacious shower. You'll even find your own washing machine. Everything is clean and well maintained. There's a compendious guide to the area, and Vilmo, who speaks perfect English, is always available to help or advise. The only, ONLY drawback with this place is the lack of air conditioning - particularly as Montello 1 faces south and west, so during hot weather it's mercilessly beaten all day by the blazing sun. A portable fan is provided. Notes: Huge quantities of breakfast goods are provided, and even pasta and fresh pesto so you can put together a simple supper when you arrive without having to wearily head for the shops; ample toilet paper, soap and shower gel/shampoo are provided; you are staying on a working farm and there are barns behind the annex which may be in use; the bed is, as is usual in Italy, extremely hard.

The beautiful place in Tuscany! Apartment is very comfortable. All we need was there. The host is very hospitality and helpful. The view from the garden is amazing. To Pienza is just 10 min by car. Nature and quiet are the words which can describe this place. Highly recommend!

Agriturismo Barbi is located in one of the most beautiful spots in the world. The view is one of the best I have seen in the world, particularly at sunset. The apartment was spotless, our host was delightful and the location was perfect for visiting Pienza and Montepulciano. I can't recommend this place enough. We will be returning.
