Stayed 9 days in September 2017. The place have all the amenities, was clean and welcoming, plenty of room (180 sqm) and garden with pool very private. The road from main entrance is about 1 km. and very bumpy, but will lead you to the house with the most magnificent view of Val D'Orcia. The caretaker Mario is looking after the place daily and pool is cleaned daily. All in all a good experience.

We spent a week here in mid-May, staying in the 1-bedroom studio apartment Moraiolo at Le Macchie. The surroundings are quiet, with wildlife roaming freely (deer, oheasants, hares, etc). We were the only occupiers during our week so it was especially quiet.
The studio is fully equipped, so you can prepare your own meals if needed, but the property is close enough to Montipulicano and other stowns for you to be able to enjoy the local restaurants.
The only problem with the studio apartment is the relative low ceiling near the bed, if you are tall you could have some problems. The manager was extremely helpful, although his nglish was limited, however our elementary italian helped in making ourselves understood.

I was lucky enough to attend a friend's wedding last summer and she definitely picked one of the most magical places she could. As if Tuscany isn't a treasure itself, this country farmhouse split into apartments is set out in the velvet greenery of the hills and just breathes relaxation into every limb. The views and grounds are absolutely breathtaking and nothing short of inspiring, and I found myself returning from that week nostalgic, with full notebooks and rolls of film. Romantic, yet suited for any occassion, this is a wonderful spot because it offers peace and privacy, but it's still easy to take trips into surrounding towns and cities. It's also special since it has a swimming pool and that can be rather rare, especially at the bargain rate my friend was able to rent for. A nice highlight was when we set up our own little olive oil tasting.....yummmm :) Who would think it could taste so good on BREAD? I mean I knew that, but the olive oil we experienced was something else entirely. Anyway, I'm hoping more friends have weddings and I can convince them to rent Le Macchie, I can't wait to go back!

Oh right, I should note it's NOT a hotel, rather a vacation rental. You can find a full description here: http://www.italiancollection.com/en/Le-macchie.html

We had a fabulous stay at Le Macchie. The pool and grounds are wonderful - views absolutely incredible. The house itself is very comfortable with plenty of space and furnished to a high quality. I would love to go back one day.

We stayed for 5 nights in the studio, the track down from the main road is pretty bumpy but once you arrive the views are stunning. We had our own outside space with chairs & loungers, although being next door to the laundry room it wasn't completely private! Due to the rural area you most def need a car to stay here, we drove 10mins to the Co-op in Chianciano Terme. The Studio is rustic authentic Tuscan accommodation, but all the basics are there including a great shower. We enjoyed eating outside in the evening with our friendly little fox. Would highly recommend a visit to the natural springs in Terme San Filippo. Would also recommend eating at Dopolavoro La Foce 20mins away.

Probably like you, I searched plenty of spots online trying to find the ideal Tuscan rental at a reasonable weekly rate... Sure is nice when a place actually exceeds expectations! A perfect Tuscan home nestled in the perfect Tuscan landscape. Pictures online were great but everything was even better in person.

Plenty of space, well-kept inside and out, first-rate pool area, outstanding views... Could not have been more relaxing and enjoyable for myself and 3 adult sons.

Situated in the countryside and a 10 minute drive to any town, we found the short excursions into Monticchiello, Montepulciano, and Pienza enjoyable each time we headed out. Pretty well located for day trips to larger towns like Florence, Siena, and Assisi as well. But always great to head back to Le Macchie at the end of the day.

Special thanks to property caretaker, Gianmario, who was always around if you needed anything but never noticeable - in a good way.

If you do anything but fall in love with this property, the problem is probably yours.

I stayed there with a few friends. We all came for a wedding in Montepulciano and used this villa for accommodation. Great authentic experience and beautiful landscape surrounding the house. Very relaxing and quiet place.

We spent 4 nights here in the studio apartment. it was very nice and part of a great property. Amazing views. Nice spot between all the towns montepulciano, Pienza and montecino. Nice owner and very friendly at check in.

One downside is you have to drive everywhere - not close to any town for walking. But it's worth the drive.

Supermarket is in a nearby town with a great butcher. Stock up before coming to the property.

We recommend and would stay again next year.

We were travelling with three young kids and this place was great. The lodging was spacious, the views are spectacular from the eating area, the pool is absolutely idyllic (minus all the wasps who are trying to escape the heat - weren't an issue). We were the only people staying at the place (there are 3 units I believe) so had the pool to ourselves. But even with others there, I don't think it would have made a difference. We chose it because of its central location...we did car day trips every day for a week to a different location (farthest being Siena). I would recommend it.

My husband and I (and young baby) rented the studio apartment at this lovely property. I cannot say enough good things about it. It met our expectation in all respects! The property is wonderfully located with beautiful views of the Tuscan hills from nearly every vantage point. There is a lovely pool with equally breath taking views. The studio apartment is very private, hidden away from the rest of the two larger apartments with a private outdoor seating area. The studio itself is very tastefully decorated, clean with a well equipped kitchen. As we were traveling with a baby, they set up a nice cot for her too. The groundsman is a lovely man Gianmario - he speaks a little English but is more than willing to help you out with any issue. The property itself is located quite near to montechiello - which is a very beautiful town and not nearly as touristy as other ones in the area. It is also about -a 20 min drive from both pienza and montepulciano. Our stay at le macchie was the highlight of our trip. I highly recommend it!
