Nestled in a prime spot that guests have called out for its easy access to pristine beaches and local dining, the Katathani Phuket Beach Resort garners praise for its serene setting. Many guests commend the attentive service and the resort's overall cleanliness, highlighting well-kept rooms and grounds.
While some visitors find the atmosphere a bit too quiet in the evenings, the array of amenities, such as the multiple pools and beach access, receive consistent accolades. They arrived at the hotel at lunch, checked in immediately. We had a room with a frontal sea view, on the 3rd floor. Room approximately 50 squares, in dispensaries soap, shower gel, air conditioning. Towels were changed every day and brought in: shower cap, toothpaste and brush, cotton discs, body lotion. There are tea facilities, the minibar is empty. Bathrobes, slippers, shales.Clean beach towels were brought every day in the evening to the room, and old ones should be thrown in the box near the room (very convenient). There's a balcony with two chairs and a table. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel and in the rooms, catches great. The grounds are very well maintained, several swimming pools, lots of sunbeds, enough for everyone. We had an HB power system. Breakfasts are great, for all tastes. The dinners are also great, each day a different themed dinner (buffet). Saturday for dinners you have to pay 300 baht extra for each person. Dinners include tea, coffee. There are several a la carte restaurants and bars on site. Hotel service is excellent. There's a gym, we walked, okay. SPA, Jacuzzi, sauna, massage all pay. I had a Dr., I was warned in advance at reception, I had a cake with candles. The hotel is opposite Kata Noi Beach. The beach is municipal, clean. The sea is clear. The airport was about an hour and a half away. Behind the hotel there are several different shops, restaurants, two grocery stores, fruit shops. The main tourist destinations need to be taken by taxi or tuk-tuk for about 15 minutes. That rare occasion when everything matched - location, service, food, territory, room comfort. Everything liked, I recommend it!!!

This is our 2nd visit to Katathani, and won't be our last! We booked 2 junior suite rooms in the Thani wing which i think is the best wing on the island.
Even after an issue with our room, which required us to be moved a few doors down, didn't damper our love for the place. They even wiped our room charges as a gesture of goodwill which i thought was a lovely touch.
The resort is expansive and plenty of room for the kids to run around and enjoy themselves. The beach access is what makes this resort so unique as i think it is the best beach to swim at along the coast. The water is crystal clear and safe, the waves are fun and strong enough to have a bit of fun with. Golden hour here is like heaven, the spectacular sunsets are beautiful and everyone is out taking pics for their memories, we certainly took full advantage of this.
The buffet breakfast is plentiful with a full range of options to start your day, the egg and omelette station is yum and the coffee machine makes a good espresso.
The gym has a full range of machines and dumbbell to keep you fit on your travels if this is something that you like doing, the kids games room could do with some extra items such as a pinball or arcade machine but the pool and tennis table is good when it is free.
Outside of the resort are some wonderful options to dine at, we found Ta restaurant and the sister massage place to be excellent. The food was cooked fresh and was fairly cheap. Definitely a place to check out.
For laundry we used Siam Smile across the road which were excellent and the 7/11 was handy to keep the kids occupied with some different snacks and lollies, the resort shop was also great, make sure you check it out. The ATM outside 7/11 was good as it allowed you to withdraw $30,000 baht at a time, not the usual $20,000.
Overall this is a great resort for young families and also young teens as you are away from the bustle of patong if thats your thing. We ventured to kata night markets up the road for food and shopping which is a short 5 min tuk tuk ride.
Apart from the room incident, the resort is great and we look forward to returning to wonderful Katathani.

We visited in May as a family of 4. We stayed in Bhuri wing which is located further from the beach but was beautifully renovated and we loved the location with no restaurant noise or noise from others wanting to stay up later than us. The pool closest to our building was unfortunately too hot to swim in and sat unused for the majority of most days. This being said, it's important to acknowledge we were in a heatwave and we met people staying at other resorts who had the same issue. Breakfast was amazing. The view was stunning and the food was varied, fresh and delicious.
The facilities were pretty and spread out well. Unfortunately some guests were disrespectful and we noted that items left around the pool (mouldy shoes, broken kick boards) were present on day one and still sitting and rotting in the same spot as we left 11 days later. The endless pools were fantastic and meant kids never got bored. Our favourite was the infinity pool with slides. It also had the most shade and seemed to stay the coolest. Poolside bars provided prompt and friendly service. Staff at reception and bars were polite and friendly, special shout out the to smiley happy security man working the pedestrian crossing to breakfast who would salute our kids with a grin each day. It was unfortunate that not all staff had such a wonderful nature. We spoke to a few families around the resort who had issues with missing items during their stay. The families were all in ground floor locations and two families reported hearing noise on their (railed) balconies overnight. On the last day of our travels one family we became close with identified a staff member wearing their missing shoes (a specific aussie brand in a very large size that looked ridiculous on the staff member) and confronted the staff. The item was returned and name of staff was fed back to front desk staff also. Hopefully the managers can deal with this individual as it certainly left a sour taste in our mouth.

Nice quiet hotel, perfect for relaxing, with a very nice beach and friendly staff. I appreciated that there were deckchairs on the grass (so a little more "fresh" than on the sand) enough and a bar nearby to order drinks and snacks. We had a room with pool view, very quiet and nice. However, I also noticed, as mentioned in other opinions, the smell of moisture. We had to change rooms on the 2nd day because I had asked for twin beds and in the second room I did not notice the smell. What I regret is that the bathroom is not closed, so for privacy pass your way. Yoga lesson sucks, the teacher is a dancer but has no idea of yoga postures (he confessed to me when I arrived), it's a bit of a shame. Breakfast with choice, I had plenty to find my happiness. Pharaonic December 31st New Year's Eve meal, an incredible choice of food and what I appreciated was the fact that for fish, crustaceans and meat everything was done "by the minute" so in my opinion it did not generate too much waste (which would have been the case if everything was already cooked in advance). The evening was very well organized, with sumptuous fireworks at midnight. Having made many trips I liked this hotel as a whole and I will return.

Great trip overall and all the staff at the resort made us feel very welcome apart from the one time that we asked for a room change for one of the 4 rooms we had booked, where we were greeted with a rather curt attitude. The food at the restaurants was good but not great. We had much better meals at restaurants in Phuket. The Thai restaurant dishes were watered down in taste, no doubt to please the Eastern European and European palates, so everything was bland. A very confused set of choices at the breakfast buffet. Have had better at 3-4 star hotels. Rooms and bathrooms were fantastic and superbly cleaned although the rooms are a bit dated and yes, they did have a slightly musty smell but we were 20 meters from the beach and that is to be expected in humid climates with lots of rain. Beach, pools, gardens were all extremely well maintained. Also, the beach was kept very clean even though on our first day a lot of plastic washed up due to the turbulent weather. Will definitely be going back.

Had booked a resort on the beach for our family and didn’t know that we had to cross a road to get to it. Had to pay for lounges on the beach which is part of the resort. Beds were so hard, like sleeping on rocks and asked if something can be done so they put some padding on top of mattress which did not help and we all have sore backs now. Had 4 of the pool access rooms and found the pool to be neglected when it came to cleaning unlike all of the other pools in the resort. Skimming was never done and had 1000’s of dead insects every day which were attracted at night time due to the underwater lighting. So before swims we would skim the pool ourselves with makeshift skimmer. Seacret restaurant for breakfast always had cold bacon with limited food on offer and found the restaurant at the other end of the resort was so superior and was worth the walk down each day for breakfast. Beautiful staff and cleanliness of rooms was good. Resort location isolated, too far out and not really walking distance and so taxis everyday to go to anywhere, markets, shops, restaurants, sightseeing etc. resort was expensive and still had to pay $150 aud for an extra 5 hours to have late checkout in which we refused. Airport transport they offer is too expensive and can get much cheaper outsourced. Overall my family said with the (bad) experience they will never return to Katathani and even back to Thailand.

Dear Gypsy0920, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding your recent stay at Katathani Beach Resort. We genuinely appreciate your candid assessment of your experience, and we regret that it fell short of your expectations. We would like to address a couple of specific points you mentioned. Firstly, we apologize if there was any confusion regarding the room category locations and the hotel's overall location. While we strive to provide clear information on our website, we understand that there may still be room for improvement in making this information more easily accessible and understandable. Regarding the loungers on the beach, it's essential to note that these are public facilities and not owned or operated by the hotel. These loungers are typically managed independently by beach vendors who are not affiliated with Katathani Beach Resort. Nevertheless, we do offer complimentary sunbeds within our designated hotel area to ensure our guests have a comfortable and enjoyable beach experience. We sincerely appreciate the specific details you provided for areas of improvement. Rest assured, the relevant departments have been notified, and they are committed to making the necessary changes to enhance the overall guest experience. We understand that your recent stay may not have met your expectations, but we hope you will reconsider visiting Thailand in the future and give us another opportunity to provide you with the exceptional experience we aim to deliver. Once again, thank you for sharing your valuable feedback with us. Your input helps us continually improve our services. Warm regards, Customer Relations Manager

We recently stayed at Katathani as a family of four and had the most amazing holiday we could have dreamed of! The staff, the grounds, and the facilities are absolutely amazing for children and families. Everything has been considered. The rooms are beautifully maintained and added security features make you feel extremely safe and comfortable within the resort. The food is expensive (as others have said) and you can get better in terms of price and authenticity outside of the resort. However, I cannot fault the resort at all, and we are looking forward to our next trip!

Just back from fantastic holiday at this hotel. It’s a fair distance from the airport - we spent just over an hr & a half at late eve & then at lunchtime return. But a great place to wake up to. Loads of pools including one with kids sprays, slides etc and a shallow bit undercover. We had no issues getting sun loungers at any point although we stayed at the far end. Hotel occupies the whole stretch of the area behind the beach (with exception of the Shore) although I think the beach sun loungers are operated separately so may incur a fee. We preferred to stay on grassy bit right beside beach and also v close to the pool area. Our family room was spacious & clean, fridge plus 6 bottles of water topped up daily, kettle, tea & coffee. Shower gel, shampoo & conditioner also provided plus I loved that they also supplied beach towels for everyone plus a beach bag pp & flip flops plus robes & spa slippers! Recommend a thai massage by the sea. Usual extensive bfast buffet in open sided Seacret restaurant & we enjoyed happy hour cocktails 5.30-7. There is plenty choice of restaurants on site but they are pricey when compared to what you can get even in the strip outside the hotel. Apart from an eve trip to Kata Beach, we were happy to stay at hotel & surrounding street for our 5 day stay.

The hotel was booked in mid-May 24 years, was already in the footsteps and in was the only room available junior suite - we did not hesitate to take, as we had long wanted to visit this hotel when arriving at the beach kata noi. So - the room on the 1st floor with sea view, is about in the middle of the hotel, as elsewhere in Asia in the room is damp due to humidity, we are not the first time and we were not surprised, the room is not new, but everything is clean and working properly, the room service works great and around the clock, on request will bring everything here, and what there are towels, bathrobes and slippers - just a high, before leaving bought herself such a robe home:). Breakfast is good, but unlike the first Mandarava hotel - the omelet is not delicious! Conveniently of course, your own territory and immediate beach, warm shower at the entrance after the beach, comfortable sunbeds and mattresses, you can immediately massage on the lawn without leaving the hotel - foot massage or a total 400tn batt. We went to the restaurant for lunch - the cooking is not delicious and expensive, the only downside that there is no infrastructure - restaurants 4 - two of them from the hotel, well and the prices are higher because of this, fruit shops 2, 7/11 one and there is always everything sorted out:), we realized after living in the Carona at the beginning in a spirit that this was not enough here. The hotel recommends for families with children - comfortable walking with strollers, there is somewhere to hide in the shade, quiet, calm, no strangers are allowed on the grounds, all things can be safely left on sunbeds. Very beautiful sea, picturesque views, at the stones on the left (if you look at the sea) you can rent fins and a mask and see the underwater world, a lot of animals husband was delighted, because he is fascinated with marine fish:). in general the hotel is recommended! And what kind of sunsets there is, you can't tell, you have to see it live!

We found this resort through Trip Advisor, and though the rating is excellent, we specify whether it is overrated. We instantly regretted only staying for two nights once we arrived. My friend and I agree that we should stick to our original plan of staying here longer. The room is spacious and much bigger than all the other rooms we stayed in at other resorts in Phuket: big balcony, toilet with bathtub, separate living room with its TV. TV can be connected through airplay. The resort is huge with two wings. We stayed at Bhuri wing, and everywhere is within walking distance. Though next to the road but not heavy traffic. It is located at the end of the road with good privacy. There are no other resorts nearby, and though there is no private beach, there are not many others access to it. There are many eating places and massage outside resorts. We tried their Italian restaurant- La Scala, and the food standard and price is very reasonable. You can access resort info through an app, including room service and contact for queries. We asked for their assistance with the TV, and they sent someone to settle it very promptly. Oh, the hotel has a coin-operated washing machine, which we have never thought about.
Things to improve: the bathtub is too slippery, and you need to be careful not to get drunk when you want to take a bath. Otherwise, you can be drowned easily. The anti-theft eye is too high in height. I can’t view it without a stool, which is surprisingly there is one in the room 😆
