A beautiful place on top of a hill with absolutely stunning views. The hosts were very friendly and spoke good English. The breakfast were lovely and perfectly adequate to start the day, the cakes were lovely and fresh along with a good choice of ham, cheese, boiled eggs, yogurts etc. Our apartment was very spacious and had a huge balcony with an absolutely stunning view. The apartments are a little rustic & could benefit from a kettle and a few more utensils and our apartment had no oven, only a hob, and as we had shopped before we arrived, we had bought pizzas which unfortunately we couldn’t cook, as no microwave either. But all in all we had a wonderful week and wouldn’t hesitate to return!
First and foremost you will require a vehicle of some description to get to and from here as it is 1 km. from the Borgo down to the main road....a winding and somewhat steep one track road. So a car, bike or moped is essential. If you want to "disconnect" this would be a great place for you. No radio, no TV, spotty to non-existent internet make this facility a place to "tune out and turn off". A few foibles though. We booked a year in advance and requested twin beds. At that point they advised that the only twin bedded room was an "upgraded" 1-2 bedroom with 2 twins and a sofa in one room and a queen/double in the other at an additional cost-unfortunately that nearly doubled the price. I agreed to that but requested to be put in a reqular twin room if one became available prior to arrival, also requested an update via email twice but apparently one did not become available and again at check in...odd I thought that nothing became available, but Ok they are busy especially with the TravelZoo coupon deal. The other issue with the "upgraded" room is the windows. The windows are very small and the top of the windows are a maximum of 3' (1 meter) from the floor so even if you are on your knees you would still have to bend over to see out of the windows!! There is a kitchen in the room (Iris Room?) we were in, stove top, small fridge and 600 Watt microwave oven. Bathroom is ok, however the shower doors can get in the way if you are using the toilette but the doors can and do move to give you a bit more room. It is a small shower. Breakfast is certainly adequate however very little variation from day to day...that is not a huge issue for us. The pool area is nice several lounge chairs, great views. Pool was not heated, and the "hot-tub" wasn't heated either. For those with mobility issues I would not suggest Borgo Bucciano, no elevator (lift) and stairs to all rooms. The staff are generally very helpful and friendly. As mentioned it is 1 km down to main road and about another 1/2 km to Le Serra village. All in all it was generally good, the setting is nice.…
We visited Borgo Bucciano as part of our venue hunt for our wedding reception. Despite it being in the off season (Jan), we were kindly welcomed to view the property by Alberto and his sister. This place is truly a gem - the drive up to the Borgo leads you through winding hills lined with cypress trees eventually revealing a hidden paradise perched atop of a hill offering beautiful views and unmatched serenity. As the name suggests, the property comprises of multiple houses - the main one being a magnificent villa where one can host their party for a reasonable day rental fee. This is accompanied by generous accommodation for numerous guests in the nearby building. This property ticked a lot of boxes for us, particularly the honest and no-sales pitch approach provided by the owners, which was a pleasant departure from what we experienced at many other venues we viewed. Unfortunately, we did not choose this property for our needs due to changes in our plans but would highly recommend. Ps we were recommended a fantastic restaurant by Alberto nearby the property which we absolutely loved. If you consider booking this place, make sure you try the restaurant too!…
My wife and I stayed here for six nights. The location is superb for exploring Tuscany as it is about an hours drive to both Lucca and Siena with many other smaller towns closer still. There are some great wineries to visit nearby (of course) and the property itself is exquisite. Set atop a hill overlooking tranquil Tuscany, the vistas are truly sublime. Add picturesque villas and a pool and you truly feel immersed in Tuscan culture. The suites are basic, spacious and include all of the expected amenities. The breakfast is very simple consisting of packaged yogurt, dry bread, stale cakes and passable coffee. We would suggest skipping breakfast and heading to San Miniato nearby for several good options. The only other somewhat negative comment is that the staff did not seem very excited to welcome guests. Perhaps it is the aggravation of COVID protocols or simply the frustration with the disruption that COVID has wrought on the hospitality industry but every request seemed to be a bit of an intrusion. Nonetheless, we very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend it as a great location from which to explore Tuscany.…
This is Toscane in a way I like to remember. The old Borgo with its big entry gate makes you feel like a million bucks. Your first impression lasts and stays and that is an impressive first impression. Thank you Borgo Bucciano.
Wow! What a nice place is this. We stayed here for a couple of days in one of the apartments. It was such a cute place with beautiful views and a nice place to sit outside. The people working here are very nice and helpful and the room and pool were clean. I would definitely recommend to stay here and if you can choose: take the apartment. :)
We enjoyed 4 days in Borgo Bucciano. Despite the rainy weather the welcome of Alessia and the warm atmosphere in this place was really nice. A fireplace, good food and good friends, all perfect We came also in summer, and the pool is also very nice I really recommend this place that is perfect for groups nicely located between Pisa and Firenze you need a car for sure
We enjoyed having breakfast at the terrace with a view over the valley. The staf was very helpfull and always in for a smalltalk. The pool is nicely situated and also from here a wunderful view. We liked having contact with other guests. Very familiar.
A piece of real Italy from the top of a hill. The villa is beside a borgo which is a village with converted farm buildings. Rooms in the villa are fitted out with a kitchenette in authentic provincial Italian fashion. Bed and Breakfast hotel. Caters for well for Germans. Has a busy wedding weekend trade.
A beautiful Tuscan villa in the hills ideal for a remote getaway. Very welcoming hosts who are there to please. Our room was over looking a courtyard and then onto the countryside. Well equipped room with kitchenette and large bedroom and bathroom. Very quiet location and peaceful. The grounds of the villa are beautiful and entrance is via iron gates and up into the courtyard. The breakfast was plentiful and eat as much as you like. The villa also has a bar. There are plenty of local restaurants.
