Great food, great fun, great atmosphere. Staff went over the top to make sure we had a special evening. Steak was just amazing 😉 The service was superb, we were not rushed from course to course, waitress asked if we preferred a break, nothing too much trouble, perfect. Band was excellent, great venue, lovely atmosphere ........ We have visited before and will return soon !

After a satisfactory starter we waited half an hour for our main to come. My wife had the Thai style fish cakes which were very heavy on potato and not a lot on fish. I myself had the iron steak which was almost inedible. It had been grilled to almost a crisp on the outside but completely raw on the instead, when asked for medium rare but was told they only did medium. Unfortunately due to this I had to leave half. I also had a half pint of London Pride which was watery. This was my first time and will be my last. What a disappointment for a birthday meal.

2nd visit in 4 week as the food was so good on our first visit and again this did not disappoint. Almost 5 stars but the pink gin had a run out and the ladies loo a little shabby but everything else perfect. Beef and Ale pie. A1 great quality and portion size. Fussy 10 year old loved the kids menu and the waitress was very accommodating with our order. Brownie dessert tasty too. Great atmosphere and whilst it was 100% full the service was spot on! Thanks Ivy House team for making my birthday lunch great!

The website and marketing for this place make it look amazing. Unfortunately they are not realistic. The whole place is run-down and grungy with shabby decor and carpets. Our bedroom had dirty walls, chipped paint on furniture, and a badly stained carpet. It was also very tiny. The bathroom was appalling with its thick black mold and many years of soap scum encrusted on the shower walls.

stayed here for the weekend as we were attending a wedding at Chenies manor. The inn is lovely both inside and out, very clean and quite quirky. Our room was small but perfectly formed. We ate in the restaurant on Friday night and the food was delicious as was our breakfast on both occasions. Would definitely return.
