I wanted to have the jungle lodge experience but am not cut out for roughing it so opted to spend the cash on Juma. I think you get much the same in terms of activities at other cheaper places. However, the accommodation was lovely - a wooden hut on stilts (because the river rises so high in the wet season),... More

We stayed for 3 nights at Juma hotel and it was magical. Our guide was Ralf and to say he made the trip would be an understatement. Ralf's deep knowledge of every tree, animal, sound, site and smell in the jungle defies belief. He was engaging, entertaining and interesting. The Lodge itself is unique, incredibly well managed, friendly staff, excellent... More

Recomended to everyone, but mabey not familys with children since a lot of activities require patience and silence. Bring good shoes, rain poncho and mosquito repellent! Went during dry season, think flood season will give u more access to the jungle. Great food! Everybody very friendly

This was an incredible experience from start to finish, we had 3 nights/4 days which was perfect, allowed canoeing/fishing/2 jungle walks. It was really made special by our guide RALF, he was AMAZING, born and raised in the Amazon and speaks perfect English. His knowledge of the flora and fauna was infinite, and his professionalism and enthusiasm was fantastic. We... More

The staff are amazing, the pace at the lodge is such a difference to our usual crazy business lives, the food is varied and typically Brazilian. The cottages are basic, but very comfortable and the semi-detached ones near the reception could be noisy but we stayed in one of the more isolated ones overlooking the lake. The only disagreement we... More

We spent 5 nights at Juma Lodge which is very unusual as most people spend only 3 nights. It is a fair track to get here. Roughly 3-4hours from Manaus. Starts with a 20min car ride followed by a 20-30mins boat ride when you cross the meeting of the two rivers that make up the Amazon. Then onto another car... More

This lodge is truly amazingfor anyone who wants to be cut off from the world for a couple of days. Location is several hours from the nearest city of Manaus. Lodge sits on the calm Juma River basin. Plenty of activities to chose from. Excellent Food and Great Service. Fresh fruits from local produce. We had several Vegetarians in our... More

Great place -- extremely well organized and planned -- they take care of the visitors so well -- excellent food even for vegetarians -- very friendly and service oriented. I would strongly recommend. We stayed with my kids and we enjoyed every bit.

Juma Lodge makes you feel that you are really living in a jungle. It is rustic in many ways. The plus points are that the service is good and the guided tours are excellent. We caught 4 piranhas which the staff cooked for us even gave us the teeth as a souvenir. The minus points are that it was very... More

You are in the jungle so can't expect too much. It is more about the jungle experience than anything else. Our guide, Leon, was great. Very knowledgeable and friendly. The food was very good, although the variety of choice over 3 days was limited. The local fruit was wonderful. The activities were enjoyable. Not overly stretching. Quite basic but again... More
