Fantastic trip to the Amazon. This is a true Amazon lodge experience, accessible enough to get to in a day from Manaus but wild enough for the full experience! If you're English speaking (or even Portuguese or French speaking), request Everaldo as a guide ahead of time. He works on a freelance basis and was the best guide we've ever had. The lodge is a great balance of rustic & luxurious and the food also fab - feel free to specify ahead of time any wishes or needs there. One gem of a fact, the Rio Negro is slightly acidic, so there are no mosquitos!
We had an amazing trip from start to finish. We were hesitant at first to bring our daughters (6 & 9) and so glad we did as they loved it! Staff does a great job of making you feel safe and informed on the days activities. We had seen some mixed reviews on the food and we all thought it was excellent. Lots of local fish, fruits and veggies. Lots of choices so everyone was happy. I was impressed by the variety when you consider how remote you are at the lodge. Rooms were very clean and had everything we needed. With the fans on at night we all slept comfortably. It was the perfect mix of activities followed by a few hours to relax at the room or in the river pool. Our guide was Tarzan and he was excellent...extremely knowledgable and did a great job of making sure our daughters were taken care of when hiking, fishing, boating. Isaac who helped with anything we needed while at the lodge was great as well! Our favorite things...our daughters getting to interact with the resident monkeys (they can't stop talking about it), getting to feed a tapir that hangs around the lodge and fishing for piranhas. Thanks to everyone at Juma Lodge for the amazing trip!…
Greatly run lodge they pick you up and transport you to and from lodge. The daily activities are fun usually two per day. They group you by the language you speak. Meals are buffet and you eat at a table with your guide and others in your small group. My husband and and I didn't like the food. Our guide Leon was great he made sure we enjoyed ourselves. The rooms were large and comfortable with a great shower. The fans were sufficient to cool the room. There is no internet. They no longer do the sw6with the pink dolphins.
It was an amazing trip. The lodge is beautiful and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Our guide was Anailson. He is excellent! The daily activities are a lot fun. Food is delicious. My favorite is Tambaqui!
We spent 4 days at the hotel and it was definitely amazing. The structure is rustic but very comfortable, super clean and beautiful! The tours are very organized, the regional food is absolutely delicious and the guides are polite, smart and caring. (A special thanks to Sidomar and Yohan). You must see the Rainforest and stay at Juma Lodge!!!
