I've stayed in many Japanese hotel chains and by far this is the best with their free night noodles, all day coffee and tea service and sometimes amenities like a rooftop Japanese communal bath called Onsen (this property affords gorgeous views of Mount Fuji as it is one of the closest hotels to this famous and iconic mountain). Their buffet breakfast is paid separately but is delicious with great variety of Japanese and international dishes. The hotel is a five minute walk from Mishima station where you can take both Shinkansen and local trains. I highly recommend staying here. The photo shows the amazing view from my room on the 10th floor.
We chose this hotel for one night while we waited for a train to Hiroshima because of its proximity to the train station. The room turned out to be surprisingly large, well appointed, spotlessly clean and beautifully organised. The Onsen upstairs was a great introduction to this culture as neither my wife or I had experienced it before.
Mishima is our middle stop between kawaguchiko and izukogen. We didn’t have high expectations, but it turned out to worth our two nights there. The hotel is quite near to Mishima station. The staffs in cafe is more friendly than those in front desk, as per Japanese standard. We lived in rooms facing Mt Fuji and also the Mishima train station. It is a great view if not cloudy. You can hear trains passing the stations, but we don’t feel it affected our sleep. The public onsen is also facing Mt Fuji and it’s a natural onsen. You can find the onsen congestion level from the room TV. You need walk quite far to any supermarket. You can found one near the famous Unagi Sakuraya.
This one is the fourth Dormy Inn that we stayed at. We chose the breakfast add on wherever they serve Japanese breakfast. The variety of dishes is amazing. Their late night free noodles is very popular, as are their hot bath (the setting is always one open air bath, one hot and one cold indoor bath plus a sauna room). Rooms are generally clean and I like the multi-device adaptor in room. Our room also had a full Mt Fuji view.
Clean room, helpful front desk staff, excellent breakfast choice and hot spring available for guests. Close to station (five minute walk). Try Beer Wind bar nearby for craft beer, good restaurants also within a short walk.
