The food took ages to come out. I ordered the Gannon, I do not know how they managed to get it that thin!! But being very thin it would have only taken about a minute on either side to cook it. My seemed as though it had Bern cooked on high temperature fer 30 minutes either side. Tough?? I had... More

This is an excellent choice for families as: There are no Bandit machines or distracting loud music. Waiting staff are very friendly. They did not have a TV, showing news or sports. This is great because I do not go to this sort of establishments as I have TV at home. If it is sport being shown then, I am... More

Nice friendly pub tucked away from the busy main area of Street and only a short walk. Good pub grub at reasonable prices. Clean and tidy, family friendly with parking and garden. Well worth a visit for a good, reasonably priced meal.

We visited the pub for the first time in a few years last week. Nothing has changed. Good choice of real ales, same extensive good value menu. Comfortable seating. Nice atmosphere, good service. We had whitebait and crispy mushrooms as starters, followed by the beef pie and chilli for mains. There was no way we could have eaten desert. With... More

Having lived locally for over thirty years, though not regulars we have dined here a number of times and generally food and service have been good. Today however, having chosen the mixed grill, I had cause to complain about the steak served with the meal which was tough gristle and completely inedible. Like most people I didn't wish to make... I came across this place as I was looking for somewhere to take my Dad for Father's day and everywhere was booked up. I think they weren't booked up as they don't do a Sunday roast and they close at 3pm. However, the menu was great and had something to please everyone (3 vegetarians on a table of 10) and... More

Very enjoyable meal and evening. We liked the friendly staff and homely feel...really old style pub feel. If there was one thing that could be improved it would be the beer on tap, it wasn't the best but drinkable all the same. Definitely recommend to go there.

Excellent location away from the main high street and busy roads. Beer garden, off the road parking, The accommodation is of modern standards yet set in old lias stone cottage. Spotlessly clean accommodation at very good prices. Friendly, helpful and welcoming landlord and staff with good Knowledge of the local area. 10/10

It is not good for some of my friends as they are in wheelchairs and, there is no disabled loo. Also when we ate there we were given a table that was on a platform that is difficult to get a wheelchair on to!
