A group of eight, booked in for 7:30, we (a couple) the last to arrive on the terrace just ten minutes late. It didn't matter as the others had ordered drinks just after 7:00, and they hadn't been served yet. By the time the drinks arrived they had given the table away, so we had to wait, standing in the heat, whilst they created one. As we sat it was pointed out we were in full sun and some shade would be appreciated. We were fobbed off with "The sun will go down". It did, about one, uncomfortable, hour later. The food was lovely, but the entire experience was ruined by the slowest and most haphazard service I have encountered for a long, long time. The coffees arrived just before midnight, four and a half hours after our reservation time. We had a young child with us and he was understandably getting pretty fractious at that time of night. My recommendation, take a look at the outside, it is very pretty when lit up in the colours of the tricolour, but just don't book to eat here, ever.

Stayed here for one night whilst on a road trip around France. I have to say, the town itself is lovely and the Chateau is spectacular. The views from the terrace at the rear are simply stunning. Service was tremendous and could not fault it. If I am to be brutally honest, the rooms and corridors outside of the downstairs/reception have probably seen better days and look a little bit tired and dated - but overall, I would say it was pretty awesome and would give it 4 stars. Certainly not 5.

During our drive trip through France (4000 km from Champagne to Normandy to Bretagne to Loira Valley areas) we have been in 5 star hotels, each night a different one. We end up in Tours and we stayed at the Chateau d’Artigny. The unique bad experience happed to us in this trip. The chateau is an amazing ancient building (former Coty properties) except for: - the rooms: they scream like if your grad mum and grand dad died in there (they urgently need refurbishment, talking about a 500€+ per room) - The service at the restaurant: in Covid time they offer tables in a Parisian tourist style (you almost share your table with your neighborhood elbow) having an amazing open air terrace where just 6 tables have been accommodated per night. - Bar area outside next to the dining area is not for dining (too much cleaning service to be applied) The light in the shadow: the chef sommelier who was trying anything in his power to help (let’s add a table outside for these guests) but the matre of the restaurant shutting him down (not even a word in English was offered to help). We end up (with chef sommelier help) eating French tapas on stalls which saved our night but not enough for this 5 stars hotel. Keep your mind open when you pick your accommodation.

I was surprised to see 5 star ratings for this hotel. The facade of the building is impressive, the views are nice, the service was good and the food in the restaurant was a good standard, but the state of the inside and the facilities are underwhelming verging on bad. Rooms in the Château were awful - tired, dated, no air con, horrible old bathrooms, cheap and nasty fixtures and fittings (think Changing Rooms circa 1995 - dreadful chipboard painted bright colours, flimsy curtains, fake mouldings etc). The pool area was dirty - chipped tiles in and around the pool, cloudy water and manky dirt patchy grass around it. Felt like you were going to catch something. At 800 Eur for 2 rooms and dinner for one night it was a rip-off, but we were just happy to get out of there. It is no way a 5 star hotel, 3 at best.

This is our favorite hotel in the region. Only 1h in train from Paris. This is our 6 time here and it’s always a pleasure to come back. The Restaurant is delicious 😋 The place is beautiful and unique. ✨ The building is full of story and they kept many historical items. The view from the rooms and from the restaurant is amazing. The beds are super confortable and it’s always good to come back here and just rest. 🧖‍♀️ The employees are very kind and they always find an activity for you or whatever you ask for 🧞‍♂️ We definitely recommend this place ❤️
