Stayed two nights at this exceptional property. Beautiful golf course and park to walk our dog in. One of the best massages I have ever had at the spa. Stayed in a junior suite, large and spacious. Well worth the stop on our way back to Paris.
Location in a park near castle. beautiful grounds. Reception very friendly. Rooms are big but bit dated. Little windows. Bistro good be more styled, bit cold in appearance. Breakfast is good, except again for coffee. Cappuccino is not a cappuccino . Spa is small for size of hotel. Pool size is very small.
We stayed at this hotel on our way back from South West France. Unfortunately our stay was for only one night. This hotel is surrounded by the most beautiful and manicured parkland. The initial impression we had when we saw the hotel was one of complete amazement with a Disney style castle surrounded by a moat on the right of the hotel property. The room was very comfortable and as the main restaurant was closed, we ate at the club brasserie which was excellent. There is a pretty golf course attached to the hotel which looks well maintained. The green fees look very reasonable and all the golfers we spoke to seemed very pleased with their choice of golf club. You really need to see this hotel to appreciate its beauty. We will definitely be coming back.
The location is beautiful, but the rooms are not very convenient, mine being at the top of a tower with no lift . The main restaurant is pretentious and appalling value, with mainly fish based bite sized nouvelle cuisine courses on what appeared to be a tasting menu . The golf club cafe/restaurant offers better food and much better value . Maintenance of the grounds is superficially satisfactory , but sadly one of our party had his car damaged overnight by a falling branch of a tree in the car park despite there being no wind . With the huge number of trees on the estate, rather better husbandry is called for. Would I go again ? No
We loved this spectacular hotel built in the domains of a fairytale castle and with a chateau feel to its own architecture. It has both a wonderful atmosphere and all the luxury golf hotel trappings. I thought the gym was pretty good with good weights and other accessories. The outdoor pool was gorgeous and a perfect temperature. Our room was excellent with its own hall / dressing room and a little view of the lake. We were a little taken aback by all the extras on the bill. The restaurant had ropey service, tiny (but v good) portions and lunch came to 110 euros for 3. Breakfast is extra; 27 euros - service is excellent and the choice superlative. All in all the price (£850 for 3 in 2 rooms for one night plus meals) was probably fair enough but more than I expected. I did think 6 euros for a small Perrier from the minibar a bit much. There didn’t seem to be a lot of options for eating outside of the hotel as it was a Tuesday night. We were driving from St Malo ferry on our way to Bordeaux and the Dordogne, and this was an amazing one night antidote to the sufferings of the overnight ferry! …
