A bright & clean entrance with sanitisers available in community areas. Plastic plants in need of make over. Gym cost not clear on website. Tea boat in room would be good. Filipe at receiption was very approachable and spoke good English but most hotel staff looked bored and were not very friendly. Defects were rectified promptly. A trouser press in each room was an odd choice rather than tea making facilities; especially as room service carries a 5€ surcharge! A hotel facilities guide book in room would of been useful as well as a tv channel list/ guide. Great maid cleaning service and the covid sanitised breakfast trays were excellent but we had to ask if there was a hot option; it wasnt offered or written down anywhere. The adjacent shopping mall was great for buying bottled water. Riviera Club Sandwich from room service exceeded expectations.

We really enjoyed our 10 day stay at Riviera Hotel Carcavelos. The staff were excellent, professional and couteous. Reception, the waiting staff in the mornings, hotel cleaners etc were all so helpful and obliging and we really enjoyed our time at the St Anthony's festival buffet by the pool. The bedrooms are large and comfortable, and as is the case with the entire hotel, kept clean to a high standard. Recommended for good value for money.

This is an excellent hotel in a beautiful area of Portugal. The hotel is modern and super clean. Staff are very professional. Rooms are generous in size and several have sea views with balcony. The beautiful sandy beach is less than a ten minute walk away. For those wishing to travel into Lisbon there is a train station close by which will take you directly into the city for just a few Euros. We stayed at this property from August 17-20, 2023. We had 2 rooms on the 2nd floor with pool views. The rooms are huge, very clean and good bedding, although a little old, a little touch of decor would be nice. Very large hotel structures (which we try to avoid now) and we slept rather poorly because our roommates were very noisy and allowed themselves to chat until more than 2 a.m.… For a 4 star: no kettle in the rooms, no bathrobes… very basic. The reception hall and corridors are very chic as are the glass elevators which give the look of a palace. Very practical side: the shopping center adjoining the hotel. Very friendly staff. Toll parking. Paid spa: 15 euros for 2 per day for a sauna (very hot) and an indoor heated swimming pool with a few jets. Be careful to come with your swimming cap. Free outdoor swimming pool but cold and unheated. Buffet breakfast where there isn't much but the croissants are excellent. In addition, the breakfast room is “the factory”, we asked to have breakfast in the lounge, which is much quieter. The beach is at the end of the street from the hotel, a 5/10 minute walk. The Lisbon train station is a 10/15 minute walk from the hotel. We liked the Cascais hotel much better at the start of our stay even though it was a 3 star. Furthermore it seemed to us that Carcavelos had little charm and more resembled a “dormitory town”.

Booked a junior suite for me and two teen daughters. They had the bedroom and I had a pull out in the living area, which was very comfortable. The room had ample space. The breakfast had a good range of foods to suit our taste. The pool was lovely and not too busy, especially since we went during August...none of that having to get up at the crack of dawn to save a sunbed. The hotel itself was clean, with friendly staff but the best thing was the location. Just outside Lisbon city centre, it was a 10 min walk to an amazing beach with good facilities. The train station was closed by, which had easy links to both the heart of Lisbon (25mins east) and also Cascais marina (15min west), both amazing to explore, with great restaurants, bars and cafes. With lots of locals living in the Carcavelos area, eating locally and buying things very reasonably priced (no sense of prices being hiked up for tourists). There is a local market within walking distance that sells amazing fruit and pastel de nata (and other foods) at local prices, as well as a small shopping centre attached to the hotel, where we bought suncream and toiletries to save on packing space, and drinks daily to take to the beach or pool. Items bought at the hotel were also reasonably priced, when we did buy them. The only slight negative, for me, was that the king sized bed had a very firm mattress, (which I didn't realise until day 4, as I'd been sleeping on the pull out bed). However, the girls had been sleeping on it fine. When I mentioned this to the reception, they provided a mattress topper the same day, which made the bed far more comfortable. If you're looking for the type of hotel that has poolside entertainment, this may not be for you, but was perfectly fine for us, as we were out exploring in the evening. The hotel and the area were great for us, and I would definitely book again.

It has a great location, a 5-minute walk from the beach, a shopping center literally next door, a restaurant area a 2-minute walk away, and even a Tennis Club 100 meters away. Better yet, it's difficult...

This is an excellent hotel and everywhere is clean and looks new. The entrance is striking and welcoming.
All the staff were pleasant and helpful.
There is a small shopping centre next door, which is useful to buy any of those things that you have forgotten to bring with you.
The beach is only 10 or so minutes away by foot and the railway station about 15 minutes. From there there are regular trains to Lisbon about 30 minutes journey time and to Cascais a lovely seaside town 20 minutes the other way.
The swimming pool has plenty of sunbeds and parasols and there is a child's pool as well.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay of one week here.

Excellent service received from all staff especially the restaurant staff with fantastic language skills, making us feel very welcome. Stay for a few days in this very good hotel. The location is ideal for those who want to enjoy the ocean which is not even a 5 minute walk away. Lots of choice at breakfast. The service is Top. The rooms are clean (carpeted) and spacious. Clean swimming pool. The advantage of this hotel is that it is attached to a small shopping center with direct access to it. Convenient for making some purchases. Proximity to Cascais and Lisbon center. The hotel is 30 minutes from Lisbon airport. I highly recommend this hotel for those who want a change of scenery and relax for a few days.
