Currant Ridge is a very nice, comfortable place for a stay at Kennecott. Very spacious cabins. Nice living rooms, a very well equipped kitchen and great beds. Great views from the private deck on the mountains - aperfect place.

I have been back to wonderful McCarthy and Kennecott in the past. Wrangell-St.Elias is a fantastic park. The accommodations are usually pretty good, but what can you expect at "the end of the road"? Well, Andy and his family have built a Shangri-La at the end of the road! These cabins are beautiful, luxurious and yet environmentally friendly. Coming back... More

Andy and his family have created a perfect place. The cabins are simple, well-built, immaculate, very comfortable with great beds, well -appointed kitchens, and large bathroom. The deck with barbecue has a great view. The run a green business with solar, recycling, and growing veggies in large greenhouse tunnels. The place is about 3 miles from the bridge into McCarthy,... Your private cabin is like new, spacious, really nicely equipped kitchen, private deck with your own BBQ grill and all of the tools you will need to cook out or in and enjoy the great views of the surrounding mountains. Without question, this is the best place to stay! It is just a short distance to the foot bridge that... More

This is my second stay at Currant Ridge. The cabin would be an excellent place to stay no matter the location, but to find it in a remote location is a pleasant treat. Four of us stayed there with plenty of room. I slept on the couch and found it to be very comfortable--I did not convert it into a... More

Currant Ridge has spacious, very clean one bedroom cabins with gas grill, large deck, nice kitchen. Everything is very high quality and well maintained. Even the cook wares are the best quality. The Owners also offer recycle options. We can pick vegetables from their garden and green house. And they just tasted great!

McCarthy, Alaska is REMOTE at the end of a 2 hour dirt road. Currant Ridge was a pleasant surprise! Spacious, very modern one bedroom cabins with gas grill, large deck, nice kitchen, and lots of hot water! We only stayed one night, but I wish we could have stayed another day or two just to enjoy the beautiful views and... More

Very clean, spacious one-bedroom cabin. We stayed two nights. Fresh vegetables like kale and lettuce grown on site. Owners were very nice and helpful. Sofa bed very uncomfortable, but the solution is to put the mattress on the floor. Then it was fine.

Cabins are comfortable and fully equipped, nice to be able to pick some veggies to add to dinner. Pleasant quiet area, helpful staff. Road is challenging, but can be done. Do not bring a trailer or large RV.

My friend and I had wanted to experience McCarthy and explore Kennecott Copper Mine for YEARS! We finally made it happen in June of 2016 and we LOVED it! The town is quaint and charming; while the mine's history is incredible! Since I live off-grid in Talkeetna, Alaska, I didn't want to camp out. So we searched for lodging. Currant... More
