Having stayed here many times and never disappointed. The staff are great and very helpful along with always courteous. A big thank you to Robin and the front desk people especially Bob, Kat and Sega for making us feel at home and special. The Carine features two very clean and warm pools along with well kept grounds. We recommend this hotel for value and comfort. David and Dolly Perry

I should have done more research. This is an older hotel that was recently renovated which se me hope. The grounds looked decent and clean. 2 pools (we only used 1) and of course direct access to the beach. The view from the balcony was also a great plus. Those were the positive things. However, For a non smoking hotel everything reeks of smoke. The room, the elevator, even the breakfast room. That was a major disappointment for my family. Nothing felt clean. Everything we brought into the room had a horrible smell after we brought it home. Just felt unsanitary and straight up gross. The pillows in the room were tinted brownish yellow which means either very old or riddled with residue smoke. Gross. The continental breakfast consisted of donuts, Celia and juice/coffee. Nothing to write home about. Thankfully there is a Winn Dixie across the street and we were able to buy some stuff to hold us over while also saving money from going out. For these reasons we would not recommend or come back.

Your voice is important to us, and we appreciate you taking the time to make it heard. While it delights us to learn our spotless accommodations, refreshing pool, and scenic views were highlights of your stay, we apologize if other aspects left something to be desired. Rest assured that your feedback has been noted and brought to our team's attention to ensure we improve wherever we can. We know we can do so much better than this and would love to be given another opportunity to prove this on your next trip to Daytona Beach.

Reading the other reviews I'm afraid I might come across as a snob, but this property did not impress us at all. I'll start with the positives though. The location is awesome! We took a beach walk every morning and were pleased that the beach was clean, well maintained and not too crowded. The room view was pretty nice too, but the right side was blocked completely by a wall. It was nice to have a Continental breakfast available although I only had coffee as pastries and cereal are not healthy for me. My husband did partake of the food which saved us some money. I bought some breakfast bowls at the Winn Dixie across the street and microwaved them. The service was also very good for the most part. When I complained about the two stains on the sheets (see pic) they got them swapped out quickly. When we needed a corkscrew they only had one for the entire place so we would have had to borrow it and bring it back right away. So we bought screw tops instead. We asked for plates and silverware (real or disposable) and were told that they had them in the units with kitchens only. It was suggested that we run across the street to Winn Dixie (where we had just come from) and buy some. Really? The property itself was the issue. First, it is very dated. For some reason we, as a married couple, were given a room with two queen beds instead of one king. The furniture was cheap and decor was non-existent. The bathroom sink and bathtub were lower than normal which might suit someone with mobility issues but wasn't comfortable for us. The toilet was the type you'd see in a public restroom; no tank and you had to close the lid to flush it with a foot lever. NEVER seen this in a hotel before. The TV had to be watched from bed or at the uncomfortable dining table and chairs. The deck was a joke; cheap plastic chairs like you'd find at Walmart. Another reviewer complained about bugs; we had gnats in the room all four nights we stayed. Also got eaten up by a mosquito that I finally was able to kill after two nights of getting bitten. In the evening it got noisy. We were right next to the elevator and other guests talked loudly as they waited. Multiple door slams could be heard because the doors are really heavy. The door connecting the room next to us had a 3/8" gap that allowed light and noise to go straight through, not to mention that it was right across from our bathroom where we came out of the shower, which creeped me out. The room was long overdue for a fresh coat of paint due to numerous scrapes on the walls. Security was also an issue. Their brochure warned you to not let strangers into your room, to close and lock your door securely, lock your valuables in the safe (ours was not functioning) and look through the peephole before opening your door for anyone. But exterior doors were not locked, even at night, so anyone could access the hallway outside of your door. The continental breakfast room didn't require a key swipe either, so anyone off the street could help themselves (I witnessed one guy getting himself some breakfast like he was a guest, but later saw him on the beach clearly at work.) So if this sounds okay to you, by all means, book a stay. It wasn't okay with us.

I have gone on vacation, booked a hotel online, got there and been very disappointed. I have nothing but good things to say about El Caribe hotel. It was very clean, staff was wonderful. Waking up sitting on the balcony having my morning coffee with a beautiful view of the ocean. Sunset at night over the ocean, definitely something to see. The pool was the biggest hit with my Granddaughter, she woke up her Dad with his bathing suit in her hand. There are plenty of things to do in the area and great places to eat. Everything is in walking distance. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as I did.
