The staff is very friendly, however I would not call this a 'resort' at all. This is primarily a mobile home park and residential RV park. The few RV spots that they have are very tight on space. There are a few newer spaces that are a bit more generous on space but those spots are not even remotely level (front to back and side to side). This is not a resort and the per night fee is very high for what you get. There are many RVs that I assume used as a residence but they are in such disrepair and run down, it just doesn't make for a good experience and, as I said, not even remotely a resort.

Hi Polly, Thank you for visiting and taking the time to leave us a review. You are correct; as a Sun RV Communities property, we primarily serve long-term and permanent residents. For short term stays with a more resort-style feel, we encourage you to check out our Sun Outdoors properties throughout the country. You can learn more at the Our Brands section of the Sun Outdoors website. We would love to welcome you at one of our resorts on your next camping outing!

Property's Favorite Review
We had a lovely Columbus Day weekend at Shady Pines, but if I am being honest, this is not the place for everyone. 1/2 of this park is 55+ and the other 1/2 is a combo of long-term campers and clean stone covered lots with a fire ring, picnic table and hook ups for short term camping.
The first thing that jumps out at you is how QUIET it is!! We pulled in late, and we had "neighbors", so I was very conscious of our noise level! I am loud in general and can see how someone may be disappointed if you showed up with big loud group or a gang of kids! That said, they do have a pool and a small playground. They are kid friendly but, in my opinion, this is for couples or the older/mature camper.
Bathrooms and showers are SUPER CLEAN!!! Maybe the cleanest I have seen while camping! Extremely friendly residents and staff. Practically everyone has a dog, so they are super pet friendly and there is even a little fenced in dog run.
Great if you have activities planned in the area or if you are stopping while on a long journey! We attended the "Irish Festival" at one of my favorite places, Historic Smithville and went antiquing at "Days of Old Antique center. Atlantic city is about 20 min away, so you are close to the beach & casinos. Nature preserves are also in the area.
Many places to dine out, urgent care is close, and Shop Rite is just down the street in case you are in need of anything.

This small campground should have been named "Shady Oaks" since large acorns from the oak shade trees rained on our coach during our entire stay. Most of the campground is occupied by either permanent, anchored residences or long-term campers. The remaining 20 or so campsites are gravel, reasonably clean, level and have a picnic table, fire ring and full hook-ups. We stayed in late October 2012, so the swimming pool was closed. They have a well-equipped lounge and meeting room with a complete kitchen; ideal for groups, but no store for supplies and groceries. You'll need to have all of your supplies because there are no stores within a short walking distance. They can refill portable propane tanks, but cannot fill built-in motorhome tanks. Wi-Fi is an additional $6 per day. Cable TV is not available for short-term campers, but there are at least a dozen digital TV channels available via an antenna. This is the nearest campground to Atlantic City, is convenient to the Atlantic City Expressway and other major highways, but is in a quiet location. We stayed there in a Class A motorhome.

We’re originally from Galloway. Moved south bought a travel trailer. Checked out a few places near Galloway my husband liked that the sites weren’t dirt so pretty much that’s how we ended up there. The park is clean the people who live there very nice. The employees were exceptionally nice! They have a dog park which was great. Laundry facilities. Helpful hint: be careful when taking laundry out of washer to put in dryer that’s right above it, the dryer door comes back some what and I came up and slammed my head!!! Lol I learned the hard way haha apparently they’re not level . If you need quarters the sell them in the office. But I didn’t seen laundry detergent for sale . All and all it was a nice park conveniently located to Parkway and route 30. Will stay there again. Oh and if you have pets that are freaked out with noise ask for a site that the acorns don’t fall and hit the roof. That freaked my dogs out terribly.

Many things wrong with this campground. Decided to cancel our visit and leave after the first day. We are a business on tour and needed a place to stay for a few days. I called a few days before we arrived to make sure mail could be received at the campground. They said absolutely. Once we arrived the property manager said ”we don't receive mail here. We refuse it when they arrive.” since we are a business, we had parts coming that we're crucial for us to keep touring. Next, they said they provide free wifi. I would call this false advertising. They had it but it was so slow it wouldn't load a webpage. Hmm let's see...campsites were uneven, someone was parked in our spot when we arrived, just a terrible experience all around. I will never stay here or recommend this place to anyone.

There are so many bad things about this "NOT" resort, I don't know where to begin,ok, here goes...the entrance area is so narrow, if someone is checking in there is no way to get around their Rv. After registering you are not escorted to your site and left to find it on your own. The streets ( the width of an alley) are very narrow. The regular sites for transients are very tight and back-ins are bumper to bumper. The "Super" sites are long, somewhat wide but still close together. The sites consist of medium sized rocks which are hard to walk on and unlevel. A water pipe on the site next to our site was wrapped in aluminum foil (no idea why), there is no grass or trees on the transient sites. The full time, seasonal sites are very close together, cluttered with everything but the kitchen sink, including sheds. And, they barely have room for cars, causing the cars to overhang into the street, making the way in and out, with a large rig, difficult. Someone parked a big pickup truck on our site all day. Another camper with a very large 5th wheel parked his rig with his truck in front of it and left the resort for 6 days. He did not return by our check out day making it impossible for us to pull out of our Super Premium, costly site. Luckily, a nice gentleman came along to stop traffic while my husband backed our 40' motorhome into the narrow alley/street dragging the hitch on the asphalt. The bathrooms were old, dirty and needed updating. The entire 7 days we were there, there was no soap in the dispensers. YUCK! I've been to many campgrounds and RV resorts and by far, this was the worst!
This is a Sun Resorts Company property. I'm shocked they have such low standards!

Been stuck living here since November, due to a relocation, and it gets worse every month. They’ve been promising after hour access cards for the recreation center since we arrived and still nothing! They close it at 5Pm every day. Bathrooms/showers are disgusting and constantly smell like smoke. Our spot experienced electrical issues and they have been less than helpful/accommodating. We actually have to unhook (If you know anything about camping this is a major project!) and move our trailer for a lousy 3 feet rather than allow us to plug into an empty unit. This place acts as if they are doing you a favor letting you pay to stay here. As I said - straight up stinks!

We had a wonderful time at this park, mainly due to the terrific staff they have here. They were so helpful and were constantly making sure we were okay and had everything we needed to make our stay with them really great. It is not a fancy park, but it is very economical and extremely tidy. The washrooms, showers and laundry are older, but they are kept very clean. The sites are fairly level and they all have a fire ring and picnic table. The park is close to grocery stores, pharmacies and Atlantic City. There are tall trees around, but we were able to get Dish with no problem. The wifi is free from Tengo, with a code supplied from the office, but we did have trouble getting the internet to work with any speed, and sometimes getting it to work at all. They honor both Good Sam and Passport America and the price per night is very reasonable. There is a section with permanents, but their sites are all kept very neat and tidy. We heard a little bit of noise from the road in front of the campground, and a bit of plane noise on occasion, but mostly we heard acorns falling from the trees in the campground. It was a wonderful noise! We will definitely be back to see the wonderful staff again next time we are back this way.

This was an excellent experience took my family camping at Shady Pines. The staff were over the top helpful and kind. The campground and facilities were very clean and well kept. We had an Easter Egg Hunt with my granddaughters and cousins. Camped with wonderful friends and family. Fire pits were provided.

Hi racing57, Thank you for the great rating! We appreciate your kind words. Kudos to our staff for going above and beyond, their hard work does not go unnoticed. Our park would not be what is is today if we didn't have such a great team behind us to keep it in order. We're happy to hear that you're holiday weekend was pleasantly enjoyed! Sounds like the Easter Egg Hunt was a hit with the children. We'll look forward to having you and the family come back and visit us again soon. Have a great day!
