Spent one fantastic night here and cannot wait to come back already. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed so warmly by Mary and shown to our room. The room was large, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We had a delicious meal that we both throughly enjoyed. Breakfast again was excellent with a great choice of fresh fruit, breads and of course a cooked breakfast. Such a lovely warm welcoming place where the people cannot do enough to ensure you relax and enjoy your stay in a stunning location. Thank you for a wonderful break and we hope to be back soon
If you're looking for a quiet retreat, where you will be well looked after, then consider a night or two at Hanora's. On a quiet stretch of the Nire Valley, this hideaway is worth a visit. Be sure to stay for breakfast: you won't be dissapointed.
We stayed at Hanora's at the recommendation of family from the US who had stayed before as well as family who live in the area. We were the only guests midweek. The feel is very homey and comfortable. The drive in was beautiful and the Nire Valley is lovely. We had a wonderful dinner and they gave us an amazing breakfast. A huge spread even though we were the only guests. I would stay again.
Wonderful experience in Hanoras Cottage... Relaxed atmosphere, superb home cooking, luxurious bedrooms and incredible staff... Mary is a force of nature who extends a céad mile fáilte to all... We would recommend Hanoras cottage to all who want to experience a little piece of heaven in the glorious Nire Valley and Comeragh Mountains.
Hanoras Cottage which is far from a cottage is situated at the base of the Comeragh mountains in the Nire Valley. It was originally a cottage but has been extended many times and ticks many of the boxes for a three and four star hotel. On checking in we were offered tea or coffee before being shown to our beautiful spacious bedroom with ample room for a sitting area. The bathroom was enormous and contained a double jacuzzi bath which was most welcome after our 15k hillside walk. Immaculate white soft towels are provided. We had dinner at Hanoras and it was simply delicious, homemade, wholesome served by friendly and courteous staff. Mary the proprietor has a word with all her guests during the evening. The choice of food was outstanding with something for everyone ‘s tastes. A bar is also available for those who would like to linger for an after dinner drink. Breakfast again was lovely with a wide variety of fruits and cereals available. Another long walking would be required to walk off the excess! I will be recommending to my friends and family that they pay a visit to Hanoras as an escape from the business of our lives while taking in a few of the beautiful walks in the hinterland. The only downside to this break is that there is no phone coverage although wifi is available. Maybe that is part of its appeal.
