The original plan for visiting Ireland didn't include a visit to Hanora's Cottage. But when I came across it while building the plan I just knew I had to make a diversion. This hunch proved spot on: this is a very special place. For starters: its location is completely unique, set at the end of a very quiet country road... More

My husband and I recently revisited Hanoras cottage after 9yrs and the hospitality was as welcoming as it was back then. The breakfast and dinner was lovely with fresh ingredients, simple and delicious. It's in a picture perfect, quiet location on the river with glorious walks close by. The interior itself could do with a little updating but this doesn't... More

Ideal place for a quiet break with your partner. Relax in the ensuite jacuzzi bath, go for a hike in the surrounding mountains, and finish off the day in their award winning restaurant. The friendly welcome is unequaled.

This place is not about how you feel when you arrive, its how you feel when your leaving! Mary, Eoin, Judith and Ina are what hospitality is all about. From the welcome you receive on arrival, the AMAZING food, dinner and breakfast, the offer of flasks of tea or coffee and help yourself to lunch from the fab breakfast spread,... More

All their photos are accurate -- beauty and comfort. our room had a sofa that very comfortable tho not from the Ritz and a great King bed, and a huge whirlpool bath. a very big room. But what i like best was the fireplace with real fire and a huge comfortable seating area with great sofas. Guests gathered to be... More

We travelled with a bunch of hikers and had a lovely, restful weekend in the Comeragh Mountains. Hanora's Cottage was the perfect base (we stayed in The Old Hunting Lodge). What a selection of good quality food. In particular, the breakfasts were "to die for". Definitely worth travelling for! Clean comfortable rooms. A warm welcome. Friendly staff. Mary was a... More

From the moment myself and my wife were met at the door by mary to when we left the following day I couldn't fault a thing, the first thing we were told by mary was to make yourself at home . It has that homely feel about the place ,plenty of little spots indoors and outdoors to sit down and... More
