We were impressed by the strict protocol of the personnel about the COVID-19. All personnel was wearing masks and gloves all the time, during breakfast and dinner. They served all the times and was no possible for anyone else to touch the food or the disks.
When we arrived they sprayed all our loungages with antibacterial liquid. Noone came into our room during our stay except when we asked for a cleaning service.
The hotel was very clean and the pools were more than enough to swim. The sea was not the strongest part of the whole area due to waves, but the beach was always clean and looked like sandy paradise. The suite with the private pool we booked, was very luxurious and gave us another option for swimming.
The restaurant offered many options and the quality of the menu was at the highest level every day! Many thanks to the chef!
Many thanks for a pleasant stay. We hope we meet again soon.

we enjoyed a very nice stay in mid August. the staff were all very friendly and we were made to feel at home. lovely location and not far from mount Olympus. the pools were great.
a couple of important points disappointed and surprised me:
1. this hotel does zero recycling. we ended up with 25 plastic bottles plus in our time there (because there is no ability to refill a bottle with filtered water). we had to take them out the room with us when we left to stop them going to landfill. this needs changing... immediately.
2. the buffet is not really covid compliant. whilst the staff serve you, diners can breath all over everything (with no mask) which made me nervous. please put some plastic up to avoid diners being able to breath on the food.
overall, i would recommend. probably a 4 star rather than 5, but staff andlocation were the highlight.

Dear Mark, thank you for your comments, because they are very important for our hotel and feedback. We are very proud that you were pleasant from our staff and view. The hotel has recycle itself but not for the guests. The use of the mask is not necessary for the guest only for the staff. The buffet had the necessary protection for the food and the staff recommended the guests to stay a little bit away from the food but thank you for your points. We take very seriously your opinion and we will get better in the near future. We hope to see you again. Yours sincerely G.M. Vassalos Manolis

Hotel is wonderfully located on the very beach giving You the opportunity to enjoy the sea at hand! Rooms are comfortable and clean, recently renovated and with enough space. Sea view is amazing and worth of extra charge.
Food is freshly made and delicious, a rich and various choice for everyone. Service is quite fast and experienced so that detail also fulfills Your overall impression.
Three pools are here if the weather is moving You from the beach, suitable for family stay with small and medium kids.
What I noticed is that hotel manager is personally coordinates service activities and takes care everything is well managed and maintained bringing the extra value of good taking care of details.
Overall, would be really hard to find any dislike to Dion Palace resort and Spa!
See You again!

I enjoyed a full week during August 2020.
All Covid-19 measures were kept.
Staff were really helpful and polite. They were a real team!!
Breakfast was served a la carte at a neat terrace with view and double white linen.
Two super clean 160 cm swimming pools with fast pool service.
The private sand3 beach was literally brushed every day by the staff.
We were grateful to be upgraded for a night at private pool luxury bungalow.
I will be back for sure in case I want to relax, enjoy delicious food ad read my book under huge trees.
Congrats!!!!

we were at this hotel 10 nights. the rooms are clean and nice, the storage space for clothes was a little bit small for 3 person. rooms have safe, ac and bath tub with shower. you get shower gel and moisturizer and those were replenished once during our 10 nights. beds are comfortable.
for beach towels you have to leave 10euros/towel at the spa area as guarantee, which you get back when you return the towels at the end of your stay, however you cant leave your towels unatended for a long period. if you loose the towels you would not get back your money. we used our own towels for beach, beach and pool beds are free and you can allways find one available.
you have to pay for drinks at the pool and beach bars, and they are really expensive, we paid 10 euros for one espresso and a virgin mojito... water is 1,50 euro for 500 ml.
i recomend you go prepared with drinks of your own to this hotel.
at breakfast you get free juices, coffe and water, but at dinner you have to pay for all and any drinks which i really did not like. i think water should have been available, because there were a lot of families with small kids. and i think it should have been mentioned when booking, if you have half board it is normal to assume you get a glass of water with your meal. at least it would have been normal to not pay overpriced.
Fir lunch there is a small restaurant at the hotel, the prices are high there, but the stuff is friendly and fast. the pizza is not that good, i recommend the burger, it is big and you get a really good barbeque sauce with it.
i also recoment to have lunch at the nearby restaurants Psarokokkalo or Ostria, they have fresh fish, we ate and had drinks 3 pers for 50-60 euro and we got free desert.
also if you are staying at this hotel i recomend fot you to check out Orlias waterfall near Dion, Litochoro with the bath of Zeus and the old Dionisoss monastery waaaay up from Lithochoro, there is also a waterfall near the old monastery.
we also visited Platamon Castle.

Dear miss Edina Thank you very much for your comments. We always take our guests' feedback very seriously and listen to your needs. Of course we have to inform you that our hotel is not all inclusive and of course drinks are not included, as they are not included anywhere else. Also, bringing in food and drinks from outside is not allowed in a 5-star hotel and for this reason we have the most affordable prices on the market even after mark-ups. So we don't thing €10 for a cocktail and an espresso expensive at all. With Kind Regards Guest Relation Department

We were in desperate need of a break and wanting a place relatively free from COVID. This hotel is both beautiful and safe. Everything you need is on the property and staff are gracious and warm. The manager is a consistent presence and ensures your needs are met. The only thing that prevents full marks are the rooms. They need to be updated. The bathrooms are aging, the towels should be replaced. It was also a huge surprise to my kids that they couldn’t flush the used toilet paper. Once you get over this, breathe and watch the sunrise and sunset

This was a holiday for my disable mum who requires a wheelchair. This is definitely not a 5* hotel but more like a 4* hotel.
We had emailed in advance to ask for a wheelchair chair and was informed that it would be available. There were 4 people in our party and we had requested 2 rooms next to each but upon arrival were told both rooms are on first floor with no lifts! The reception also said there was no wheelchair available! After a long time we had a different receptionist who arranged a room on the ground floor and a wheelchair chair which the other staff could not do.
It also meant that my mum and sister were on one side of the hotel and we were on the other side on the first floor which was not ideal. The phone in our room was not working and we’re told that an engineer was coming to check the line and that did not happen all week. The Wi-Fi in our room was so poor that we hardly got any reception. The bath tub had a big brown stain on it that looked very ugly, this is not 5* quality.
On the positive, the staff were friendly and helpful elsewhere in the hotel. The food was delicious and variety was good. The pool was not accessible for my disabled mum as the ladder stairs going in and out were very steep, so she could not use any of the pools.
It was a pleasant stay but could have been a lot better and with adequate facilities for the disabled.
The location of the hotel is also a negative as there is nothing to see or shop for miles.

Dear Boos, Thank you very much for your comments. However, as we informed you, we have a wheelchair for our guests, and we made it available to you as soon as it was requested. As for the rooms we also gave you on the ground floor for the best service of your mother. Regarding the swimming pools, however, we do not write anywhere that they are suitable for people with special needs. We also sent a technician to look at the phone and he did his best to fix it right away. We always take our guests' feedback seriously to improve. We hope to see you again soon at our hotel. Booked via Voyage Prive listed as a recent recommended 5 star Hotel. Whilst the staff are very helpful and friendly, the pools set in nice grounds and well kept, the item which down grade this hotel are torn bath towels in the bathroom, 10 euros deposit for pool towels which can only be changed for 3 times a week, repetitious food for breakfast and dinner. There is no signs of renovations as walls in the bedroom need replastering where it is coming away and the exterior painting covered all the balcony sliding door frames.

We were skeptic as a couple if we should go on vacation this year because of Covid-19. Doing a little research on resorts, Dion Palace was one of the few hotels that were actually giving much detail on Covid-19 measurements and showing how serious they take staff and customers safety. Of course i booked it without hesitation.
Arriving at the hotel we had our temperature taken before we even walked in the main lobby. Our luggage remained outside while checking in for decontamination for Covid-19. All the staff was were wearing masks and were taking measurements very seriously. Awesome staff very polite and helpful as well. Resort was clean and well taken care of. Obviously breakfast buffet wasn’t available due to the restrictions for the virus, however at the restaurant there’s a menu where instead you order whatever you want to eat. Breakfast lunch and dinner was delicious. Really enjoyed the egg benedict in the morning. The profiterol was the best dessert i ever had after dinner.
Everything was amazing! Perfect choice if you wanna enjoy and relax on your vacation in a safe environment! Will be back again soon. Thank you for everything.

Such a professional and guest oriented attitude! Even before arrival we had to ask for our stay to be postponed for one day and the management did their best to sort things out with booking.com and make it happen. On the arrival day we were greeted with cold drinks and welcomed by the guest relations manager herself with a warm and friendly chat. Enough to start feeling at home at an instant. The rooms are nice, with a mini fridge and freezer compartment working perfectly, a safety deposit box, TV, well equipped bathroom with bathrobes, cosmetics and a vanity set. Wi-Fi worked smoothly in all areas and the terrace was quite inviting to sit and enjoy a drink at any spare moment. The hotel has its own pebbly - sandy beach with sunbeds and parasols in abundance for all guests but we mostly enjoyed the three swimming pools which were spotlessly clean and refreshing. We prefer sandy beaches and this one is a combination of sand and pebbles. Just our preference, not that this beach isn’t good. There is an onsite mini market with all kinds of goods and at quite fair prices, too. The food served in the main restaurant is plentiful and with an impressive choice both for breakfast and dinner. Soups, salads, hot and cold buffet, a wide array of artistic mini cakes, meats, fish etc. There is also a classy fine dining restaurant La Medusa onsite with its exquisite menu of Mediterranean dishes. Finally, on our last evening before departure we were pleasantly surprised by a small gift bag from the hotel containing a few bags of spices and herbs typical of the Pieria area. And lastly, a big BRAVO and THANK YOU to all the staff members for their flawless service to make our stay a truly memorable one. All in all, if a totally relaxing and luxurious holiday less than an hour from Thessaloniki is on your mind, think no more: The Dion Palace Resort & Spa is the place

Good morning the cost from Thessaloniki airport to our hotel is about 150 € !!
Same as the restaurants but I do not remember to be honest. For sure was not expensive. Decent prices. Quality was superb with a great wine list. Beers the usual brands.
Best choice i'd say is to rent a car. The hotel is pretty far outside, so you'd need several busses and still a taxi to get there, which would probably take forever. A Taxi/shuttle from Thessaloniki would approx. be 100€ one way.
Having a car also gives you flexibility to drive to nearby towns like Katerini, Litohoro or Leptokarya, or to Mt. Olymp.
I did a lot of research for our transfer - the best deal I got was through the hotel. While it might seem quite expensive, the service is reliable and friendly. There’s other alternatives, to get the train from Thessaloniki, but then you would still need a short taxi ride to the hotel. The hotel offers the service for €125 each way. Well worth it !!
€125 each way
Car hire - €55 a day (automatic) small Peugeot
