Given the state of affairs in Juba, South Sudan, I was actually impressed by the service at Classic Hotel. Not your "classic" hotel but descent enough. Affordable, spacious rooms with functional AC, fridge and internet. Located not far from the airport. Descent breakfast. The temperatures in Juba at the time of my visit (March) however were unbearably high 🔥 41 degrees Celsius. From April all the way to July, I'm told is much cooler.

Amarat classic hotel is an exceptional hotel. it is high class and very suitable for guests who come for business. i say this because they HAVE 4g internet and the best LG air conditioners.During my time, I would come from work and all my stress disappears at once with the food and great rooms. Amarat have one of the best pizza chefs in the world. They have a large buffet with different types of food. The prices are very understanding and match its qualities and although they dont have a swimming pool they have a driver that took me to the swimming pool and gym. They have plenty of guards to provide security. They have tvs in all rooms to entertain you and i advise you to have a wonderful time at amarat.

While visiting Juba South Sudan I needed to vacate my room on the compound our team resides in and spend a night at another place. I chose the Amarat as it is close to our compound and I would not be in need of a vehicle. I found the staff to be very hospitable at check in and my room was the most modern and clean that I've experienced in Juba and this is my sixth visit in 16 months and the Amarat was the fifth place I stayed in. The room came with both dinner and breakfast for $190, the going rate for rooms here. The air conditioning worked very well, and the room had all the amenities one would expect. Shampoo and soap were not provided and was not needed, but a heads up for anyone traveling here. I may have been provided with those had I asked, but I had carried my own with me. The Amarat has a very comfortable bar and restaurant. I didn't have dinner, but did enjoy the buffet breakfast with eggs, sausage and toast. There were other dishes available of foods that are not traditionally eaten at breakfast by westerners. My only issue with the room was the shower wand mount on the wall needed tightening as it would not hold the wand up and resulted in the water running straight down the wall and getting out onto the marble floor creating a very slippery surface. All in all I recommend the Amarat for anyone wishing to stay in a very clean comfortable room.
