My wife and I were on a motorcycle tour of Northern Spain and this hotel was en route. I have to say we found it wonderful and very different from normal hotels. We parked the bike right outside the reception in the courtyard (receptionist suggestion), the room was excellent (small bath but who cares as we were showering) loads of...

Stayed here on the first night of a touring holiday of Spain and Portugal. Picked the hotel for convenience after arriving in Santander and it being on the road to Portugal. Very pleasantly surprised on arrival given the low cost. Friendly staff and a lovely old building. Rooms are quirky with the mezzanine bed but clean and in good order....

Includes charming walled gardens and beautiful medieval location with loft type accommodation. Also nice common areas. Room wasn't huge but was modern and well designed to maximise space. Staff were super friendly and helpful and the restaurant had awesome food at very reasonable prices and even came with a bottle of very good wine! Great location to explore to Potes...

Arrived at the Posada mid evening for an overnight stopover after arriving on the Santander ferry. Was quickly shown to our room in a side wing which had downstairs seating & en-suite plus an upstairs mezzanine floor with a double bed & single childs bed. Small problem was that there was a sheer drop of approx 12 feet from the...

A reshaped monastery, very comfy and having its' own style. A hotel not like you can find in every city. The beds (quite small for persons taller than 1.80 m) are located upstairs in your room. A small bath room is located under the beds, but very efficient arranged. With a 10 minutes walk you can dine in the center...

It took some finding without GPS, but it was well worth the night's stopover in the back of beyond. Spectacular stone building. The room was a tad cramped but clean and characterful, the sound insulation non-existent, though my neighbours luckily didn't stay up late. No lifts, and food only available from late, by Brit standards, and there are next to...

This hotel is a gem if you are used to the usual chain hotel box rooms that are unfortunately so common. I've seen a few reviews complaining that the rooms were small, or that there's no lift, or that you had to go upstairs to get to the bed from the main room, but quite frankly I have to climb...

We stayed for 2 nights in mid September when we went to a wedding nearby and were utterly stunned by the tasteful and clever architecture of this small hotel next to the remains of a great monastery and centre for Romanesque. The rooms have drawbacks (see below) but the hotel is easily one of the more memorable beautiful places I...
