Although this may technically be a hotel, evening meals are limited, there is not a full menu and in reality it is a high quality B&B. The rooms are very nice, particularly those with balconies. The gardens and setting are beautiful. It is a great place to stay on the way to the ferry port at Santander. It is around...

This was our last night in Northern Spain before returning on the boat back to the UK and is situated in a lovely quiet location in the picturesque countryside of Cantabria with the beautiful mountains in the distance. From the outside, the house itself is very impressive and the gardens are delightful. But sadly the inside has been extensively refurbished...

We were looking for somewhere nice to stay on our last day of touring N. Spain and chose Jardin de Carrejo, one of the 'rustique' hotels. It cost 71 euros for the night and was really worth it. It is a stylish, modernized rural haven - a renovated country house which, originally in 1901, was a stable block. It sits...

First of all, the family suite (for us and our three children) was the best suite we have had at a hotel including luxury ones. At less than €175 a night, best value for money ever. The rest of the premises are literally exquisite. But, if that wasnt enough, the managers are simply without rival. Two details: our kids came...

El Jardin is set in some 5 hectares of landscaped gardens a kilometre or so south of Cabezon de la Sal. It is only about 30 minutes from the ferry at Santander. It is ideally situated for exploring Los Picos de Europa, and for the Cantabrian coast. The room we had was splendid was a corner suite with a corner...

We spent four days at this lovely facility. The room we had was the junior suite, room 5, on the second floor. It had a wrap-around private deck that provided an excellent view of the grounds. Parking is provided. The room was spotless and the daily service was as expected. They offer a breakfast of meats and pastry at an...

We arrived in the snow in early February after an arduous journey over the mountains and were shown to the garden suite - a massive villa with a fantastic bathroom all next to a very babbling brook. The pictures on the website do not reflect the beauty of the building & grounds. Dinner is simple food although the house Rioja...

We stayed two nights at this lovely hotel at the beginning of our two week trip to Spain. The hotel is tastefully decorated - think Farrow and Ball - and set in a beautiful, peaceful garden on the edge of Cabezon. The staff were extremely helpful and the breakfasts were delicious. The website doesn't provide much information, just pictures, so...

We booked two nights as part of a two week trip across the basque coast and stayed an extra night we loved it so much. Location is so peaceful the garden is wonderful, no noise and restful after hectic days driving to the many nearby coastal towns or Picos etc. First and foremost the staff, for me on holiday the...

Staff at the hotel were extremely friendly. Rooms were clean and tastefully decorated, ours had a great balcony but would benefit from having tea making facility in the room. Evening meal was a little pricey but the breakfast was amazing. The location is perfect for touring around Cantabria and we did a day trip to Rioja region Would definitely recommend.
