Rarely do you get to feel as if you're staying with friends on holiday, but very soon into our stay, Lee & Pen welcomed us into their home and we definitely felt as if we were staying with friends albeit new ones. The retreat is spectacular, the setting is stunning above Split Apple Beach and the whole house is designed...

From the unbelievable views, to the outstanding food and wine, to the caring staff, it's like heaven on earth! They catered to my dietary restrictions and every meal was amazing ! Be sure to ask Lee about excursions in advance so you don't miss out on any opportunity. When they say "retreat", they mean it!

Stunning ambience, setting, tranquility, suites and food. Thats all that needs to be said!! Lee & Pen literally welcome you into their home and philosophy. We will certainly return. Do not miss the helicopter flight over and around Abel Tasman with Andrew who as well as a consumate pilot is a great aerial host.

Traveling to New Zealand Jan 16-27, 2017.... Decided to jump across to the northern tip of the South Island near Nelson and the Abel Tasman National Park.... Close friends and traveling companions suggested we stay at the Split Apple Retreat. We arrived mid day from the North and the retreat lined up a driver to carry us to lunch an...

Dear Global Nomad, We are happy to hear that we were recommended by one of your friends and travelling companions. There really is no stronger recommendation than that of a friend who has had a first-hand experience. The wineries and eateries on the way from the Nelson Airport to Split Apple are worth visiting especially with our knowledgeable guides, such...

What a stunning honeymoon we had at Split Apple Retreat. The luxury, comfort and views are everything the website promises –and more. Our love of food was a key reason for choosing Split Apple Retreat and the meals were way beyond our expectations. Pen is an extraordinary chef. The love, creativity and professional skill she infuses into her food are...

Absolute paradise! New Zealand itself is a modern day anachronism. Where else on the planet can you find a place with no noxious animals or plants, clean air, drinkable water in the lakes and rivers, no security checks on domestic flights? The Nelson Tasman region, where the split Apple retreat this located, is known for the best weather in New...

Dear Sherryl, We thank you for one of the highest appraisals one could possibly get in the hospitality world - to being compared to the comfort and pleasures of ones own home. We are also proud of the country that treats its guests to great nature, ocean, lakes and forests, but omits poisonous snakes, scorpions, dangerous wild animals, poisonous spiders...

Experiencing Pen and Lee's retreat must be a positively life-changing experience for quite a few of their guest ... what better can any host hope for ... Absolutely everything about this place is thought- and purposeful. If you can spare some small change to indulge in this serene place, you are likely to emerge with practical understanding of what healthy...

This 3 room gem looks out over the Abel Tasman National Park and has stunning views from all areas. The hosts Lee and Pen (as well as Alex the general manager) are so welcoming and make every effort to cater to you personally. I mentioned I loved cheese on my fist night and low and behold we had cheese and...

My husband and I met up at the Split Apple Retreat to have a week of wellness, relaxation, exercise and detox. The experience was above and beyond what we expected. Although the other guests were not on the wellness retreat, the food served was all so healthy and nutritious that we all had the same meals. The meditation was a...
