We arrived not realising there was a Halloween evening happening and walked into a lot of people in fancy dress.... could have made us feel out of place but we were made very welcome by our hosts. Friendly locals too made for a great night. The food was very good - I had the steak which was cooked beautifully. The...

One of the best welcomes that we received on the c2c. This was the only stop to put our bags in the spacious, clean and well appointed room. Although the inn does not offer wifi (currently transitioning to the cloud) it did not matter. The evening was spent talking to Mick and Andy who were telling us stories about the...

Only booked for one night (a Saturday) as was in the area for a wedding. We were a bit worried on first appearance as it does look to be run down somewhat. Worry not as the material state of the building is sound and the hotel is spotlessly clean throughout. The room had plenty of space although I found the...

Oh dear we thought on arrival-thinking we had made a terrible mistake as the view of the hotel from the back did not suggest quality. However our stay was memorable. Our room was spacious, clean and well equipped. A most comfortable bed. What made our visit was the friendliness of the family running the establishment ( just recently taken over...

I recently visited with my father, as I needed to visit Durham University. As soon as I went in the atmosphere was immediately friendly. The room was spotless, and management were delightful. It was really nice to hear such heavy northern accents, which for me really added to the experience. The following morning there was a wide variety of breakfast...

Very friendly and helpful staff - all requests were genuinely "not a problem". Bedroom and en-suite were compact, but clean and comfortable. The dining room was lacking in ambience, but the meals were good and very generous helpings.
