Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Lynda who has made the Old Barn into a special and inviting place to stay. Each morning we were treated to a wonderful breakfast and engaging conversation with Lynda who was so helpful in planning our day as we ventured out to enjoy the surrounding countryside. Our room was extremely comfortable and all...

Excellent little bed and breakfast right next to the tourist information center in the middle of middleton in teesdale. A warm welcome by linda the owner when you arrive and the offer of a tea or coffee is a lovely gesture. There is a place for wet clothes and shoes. The rooms are to an extremely high standard with beautiful...

Lovely building which had been rebuilt almost from scratch on behalf of the present owner and was beautifully done. Absolute quality. Lynda very helpful and her recommendation for evening meal (The Forrester's) was good. If I owned the restaurant I would change the decor as a glance inside would have put us off but glad to eat there as food...

A special b&b right in the middle of charming Middleton-in-Teesdale, and very close to the glorious countryside of Upper Teesdale. Friendly and helpful landlady, excellent breakfasts, spotless and comfortable room. Good WiFi - but poor mobile reception.

Received very helpful local information on where to eat in Middleton and what to look out for on our next day's walk. Our overnight stay here, with all the terrific facilities and surroundings, ensured that we were re-energised for the the next eight mile section of...

I have stayed here twice whilst walking the Pennine Way and have arrived on both occasions dripping wet and covered in mud. Despite the fact that The Old Barn is finished to an exceptionally high standard, I have been welcomed in to the beautiful flagstone floored dining & reading room (where there is a variety of books and board games...
