Visited this restaurant for Sunday lunch, just back from holiday, starving hungry, and thoroughly disappointed. Lamb was 50% fat, gravy very thick and gloopy, roast potatoes soggy inside and out and very greasy, vegetables boring and undercooked. Cost £11 and if I hadn't been so hungry would never have eaten any of it. When waitress asked if all was ok... More

Met up with friends from Basingstoke & Northampton. Arrived late but room was made available to us.Nice cold ice water to welcome you. Just wish I was feeling better. Breakfast was superb piping hot could not eat much more. Plenty to choice from. Once Howard had got over the shock he thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely country rural place to stay... More

Lovely pub, landlord was particularly welcoming, even offered us a lift to our venue as it was only a mile down the road. Couldn't fault the breakfast, what a feast! Room was to a high standard would definitely recommend

This is s lovely pub in a nice setting. Next to an historic church, I'm sure it gets busy. We booked for a lunchtime visit, and were the only ones in at first, then a four and an eight arrived unannounced, but were greeted with a welcome and quickly seated. I ordered the burger (surprise surprise) with family ordering the... More

We stumbled upon this inn/restaurant by chance and were so pleased. The host (Alan) is great fun and offers excellent service, he made sure our stay was very comfortable. The food is of great quality made from fresh ingredients and very reasonably priced. The staff lovely and helpful, room very warm and comfortable, and the bed...wow, so so stayinable, it... More

Very friendly greeting and was upgraded to double bedroom with 4 poster bed on arrival! Nice modern bathroom. I didn't eat in restaurant but did have breakfast which had the usual cereals yoghurt and fruit etc with then further hot options from the kitchen. I highly recommend Egerton arms for a stay if in or near congleton

Country Inn in conservation area, with low beams and traditional furniture. The restaurant is particularly good for fish, with a fishmonger visiting three times a week. We had simple grilled sea bass, with a salad; fish was fresh and tasty, with an interesting salad. I then had an interesting cheese board.
