An overnight stay in Charing Astbury. This is a nice pub, with rooms. Good size room, very clean, refurbished bathroom. Peaceful and quiet. Good breakfast in a dinning room. A good place for an overnight stay and very good value

We had Saturday lunch at this village pub. The service was prompt and our waitress was friendly. The menu was extensive and we were spoilt for choice. There was the option of 2 courses from a limited menu for £6.99 which was brilliant value. This is a lovely, traditional village pub and I would recommend a visit.

We had B&B and wanted an evening meal but the restuarant was booked up so we had a bar meal. Hubby had braised steak and onions with chunky chips and veg, big pieces of steak, the meal was excellent. I had fish cakes, again realy nice. The staff were really friendly. Our room (1) was a little bit on the... More

We were staying In Congleton and needed somewhere to eat on Saturday evening. A quick phone call to the Egerton Arms assured us that we could have a table and they looked forward to seeing us. It was a good start to an excellent evening of well-cooked food served by attentive staff. From the moment we walked through the door... More

Food here was okay, basic pub food. Only wish we had noticed the 4 dead moles hung up on the barbed wire fencing on the driveway before we went in, rather than on leaving. We wouldn't have entertained the place .

We visited on a sunny Sunday afternoon with friends, the pub was busy but our food came in a reasonable amount of time. We went for the floury steak baps and chips. We had one each but could have shared, they were so filling. The pub does get busy at the weekends. In summer there is a nice outside area.... More

Just popped in on the off chance as we were passing. Lucky find, the food was great & the staff were very helpful. Two of us had the "small" fish & chips, glad we didn't have the giant one, it must be huge!

This was booked for me by my company as I had a business meeting nearby the following day. Although arriving at 7.30pm, the landlord and barman were very welcoming and showed me to my room which proved to be spacious and very comfortable with an en suite bathroom. Going down for an evening meal was relaxing as the bar area... More

Staying in congleton we made a stop at this pub for food. Even though they were busy they found a table for us. The staff were very friendly. Soon as we sat down the barman came over to take our drinks order. We ordered two starters. When these came they were very hot, not the case in lots of pubs.... More
