This Melville Castle is FIVE STARS! Everything was perfect and welcoming and CLEAN! The room, the bathroom, the food, the staff, the interior castle areas were all superb. The bar lounge was so comfortable with a charming fireplace. My husband, son, and I came from USA. I do not understand some of the other reviews about this castle. Rest assured...

Booked for a birthday surprise, disaster in all aspects. Reception staff need to stop playing on phones and be trained on customer service or basic manners. Room dated but not in a good way, dirty carpets smelt of damp. Breakfast service poor, cold buffet, bad coffee. They add drink charges to your room bill so check this before you pay,...

Returned here after 3 years writing a 5 star review - Wow has it gone down hill In that time. Rooms - Dirty, tired, heating makes some awful noises, bath tiles had mouldy and linen was ripped. Food - Breakfast was terrible. Ran out of hot food and then no apology. Evening food wasn't any better. Staff - Seems like...

This is the second time of staying at the hotel, after my last stay I had high expectations. No heating, complained to girl at reception to be told "I will pass on your comments sorry about that" followed by a snigger, what's the joke ? Decided to go for a drink but no bar staff back to reception, I will...

One booking but 3 rooms. :) Due to heating problems in our room, we were invited to a spare room for the following night and then upgraded to the bridal suite for the rest of our 5-day stay. Marvellous solution-minded staff. Gorgeous breakfasts. The surroundings are awesome. The rooms are comfortable and/or a bit vintage. The place can only be...

Weekend away with my husband for my birthday. Lovely location, upgraded to a superior room which had stair case up to bedroom. Dinner in hotel very nice with attentive staff. Room large with shower room. Reception and stairs very stately. Hotel caters to weddings so can be noisy when guests departing for the night. Breakfast needs upgraded, strange rosti and...

This was an eagerly anticipated trip and from reviews and photos, we were excited and very much looking forward to it. The major advantages that it had was that downstairs was beautiful with the fire in the entrance and the barman (john) was amusing and entertaining. The room in itself was horrific and I can honestly say this is the...
