We stayed in Otter Cottage with our two friends and our dogs. It was a perfect place for us all and our four legged friends. The grounds are wonderful with an abundance of wildlife around you. The cottage itself was so well equipped and there was nothing we needed as Ian and Maggie have thought of everything to make your...

Thanks for those kind words - glad you had a good time. And on your recommendation I think we'll go and have lunch at the Globe, Beaford, to try it out!

We stayed in Otter Cottage at Wheatland Farm for a week during the February Half Term (14th – 21st Feb 2015). Our party was 2 children ( 9 and 11), our bouncing Jack-a-Poo and my wife and I. We are seasoned Devon holidaymakers, but usually only in the summer, and usually only North Devon. We fancied a nice, quiet, cosy...

We stayed at the Otters Cottage, despite a very wet December weekend, the surroundings more than made up for it. Ian and Maggie made us feel most welcome. We enjoyed the recommended routes to walk with our old dog and nights by the woodburner. I would love to return in spring/summer to see the farm in it's full colour. There...

The Beech Lodge was perfect for my large family to unwind after full days of touring Devon. The kids could run, play hide and seek, badminton and of course the tree house. Ian was an awesome host and made our stay that much more comfortable. He especially took time upon our arrival to show us some places to visit.

We had a lovely stay in the very spacious Beech lodge. The location outside Winkleigh was ideal for visiting N Devon and the Winkleigh Cider shop. Wheatlands farm was a big hit for our kids and dogs. We all caught fish in the pond and the woods, fields and nature reserve were perfect for playing in. I cant fault the...

We have just returned from a week's stay at Honeysuckle Lodge. Incredibly happy all round. Great location in rural Devon but easy access to beaches in the north and even Bude is only an hour away. Quiet and peaceful location with very comfortable accomodation. Great welcome from Maggie and Ian, complete with wild flower posy and scones. Would really recommend...

Stayed with a friend a few weeks ago to "escape" after a stressful year. The lodge (Nuthatch) was perfect - bright, comfortable and spacious with a lovely large veranda. The lodges look out over the fields and woods right outside the lodges so it's a really peaceful place to stay. Walks on your doorstep and lots of lovely places to...

Recently we spent three days at Wheatland Farm Eco Lodges at Balebarn Lodge, it has the most amazing view across grassland and a small lake with the great opportunity of using bikes to get around the beautiful Devon country lanes. The owner bought over some home made scones just out of the oven which were gratefully accepted and enjoyed. The...

We spent a lovely weekend at Wheatland Farm with our two young children (5 and 1 year old). Honeysuckle Lodge was cosy and well equipped, with extra baby kit. Our daughter particularly loved the cross-over bunk bed, and our son loved the friendly dog and chickens. We had a great time exploring the wood, ponds and tree house. Ian was...

Our Devon eco lodges offer a tranquil haven for short breaks and longer stays. We're an award winning green business, running our 21 acres for wildlife. But you don't need to be super-green to stay - it's for everyone. Choose from fabulous Balebarn Lodge, with its straw bale construction, upcycled style and amazing view, three well-appointed wooden eco-lodges set amongst trees, or Otter Cottage, a converted stone barn with views over our lakes and to Dartmoor. Dogs and children welcome. Close to excellent fishing, traditional pubs, cycle trails and great walks. ... more   less
