Budget hotel and a good restaurant with hungarian and international food. Worth for stay even long term when visiting west Hungary or Austria. Excellent Cafe and polite staff. I'll come back when hanging around next time.

First of all the location: the Portre hotel is in the best possible location on the old town square of Koszeg. There is a large, beautiful and generally quiet car-free area for children to play while you sit outside the hotel for breakfast, dinner etc. Koszeg itself is thoroughly charming and quite possibly Hungary's most attractive town. It is an... More

This hotel located in the center of Kőszeg. If you get a room with a window for the main square, you will have a great view, but it is a bit loud. There is no AC in the rooms, so you need to open the window, and the square in front of the building can be a bit disturbing at... More

Kőszeg is just 4 kms from the Austrian border, so it is a good choice to discover West-Hungary and East-Austria. The hotel is right on the main square. It means excellent position but very limited parking. There are some shared parking spots with other hotels (requires special permission from the hotel) but these spots are surely overbooked for the weekends.... More

Köszeg is a very small historical city of hungary. The Portre is a very small hotel in the city central, on the main square. It has parking places shared by the other hotels. The staff is very-very friendly, and they can give you information about the intresting points of this region. You can eat a fantastic vegetarian dish (as well... More

Good news: rooms are spacious and pleasantly decorated. Staff are friendly and helpful. Several excellent breakfast options are available. Location is excellent - right on the main square. Bad news: I received no housekeeping services for three days & evenings. WiFi on top floor was very patchy. Room 5 should be avoided, unless guest is happy with a window less... More

Portre Koszeg Hotel was very consistent with reviews. It is located very centrally on the edge of the old town. The hotel is an older building but in good condition. The room was reasonably large, very old with old floor boards but pleasant furnishings. Room was well serviced. Room on first floor had brilliant views of city tower and church... More

Great little hotel, 6 rooms only. Was difficult to locate on the internet, seemed little known. Fantastic location right at the heart of koszeg, on the square. Above a cafe/bar, with wide range of food, had an excellant evening meal, and nice to sit out overlooking the square. Book direct with them, much cheaper. 14.000 forints for large double room.... We spent two nights in this cosy pension. The location could not be any better. It is right on the main square of Koszeg. Our room had a great view, it was big, modern and very clean! The restaurant itself was also great. Very good food, good prices and nice terrace outside on the square. The staff was very friendly.... More

We were not sure about this hotel as we could not find any reviews about it online, but the website looked good and the price was right so we decided to book it. AS we had not paid a deposit and did not arrive until 10pm I had some anxiety about whether or not the room would still be there,... More
