This charming property is located in the heart of Haydon Bridge at the end of the now pedestrianised original crossing over the River South Tyne. Nestled in the heart of the village this accommodation gives 21st century luxury in an idyllic rural setting. It boasts 4 large twin or double rooms, all en-suite. Most have high pressure walk in showers with quality furniture and fittings. There is a lounge/ dining area and separate kitchen and laundry service available. Close to all the local amenities only a stone throw from the Roman Wall and the beautiful Northumberland countryside, with all its tourist attractions. I am very sorry but we do not accept dogs.

Shaftoe's is a great place to stay near Hadrian's Wall. Dave and Lois went out of their way to assist us and were helpful and courteous in every way. Shaftoe's was the best place we stayed on our trip to the UK; and Haydon Bridge, Hexham nearby, and the Hadrian's Wall sites were

Thanks for a lovely review guys. I do hope the rest of your trip went well. You never know we may well see you again if you choose to return and visit those parts of The Wall that you missed, although it is a bit of a distance for you to come! Take care and look after each other. Dave.

The review MUST be started with what a gracious host David was! The breakfast was delightful and custom cooked. The lounge was small but comfortable and had a 125 gallon aquarium for amusement. Right across the private parking area is an old pub, The Anchor, which was quite nice

Thanks for a lovely review Russell, we'll definitely be looking forward to seeing you again when you are next on our side of 'The Pond'. I hope the rest of your travels went well and you managed to meet up with all of your friends as you moved from place to place. Take care, and see you next year. Dave.

Dave & Lois greeted us with coffee, tea & cookies at the end of a long travel day! We stayed here to be near Hadrian's Wall. They gave us excellent advice on walking in town and on visiting the wall. Dave recommended the Roman Fort & museum and Vindolanda even giving us map &

Glad you had a great time Fran, there is just so much to see along this part of Northumberland, we look forward to your possible return visit so that you can get around those sites you couldn't this time. Take care, Dave.

I can genuinely say I don't think I've ever stayed anywhere better. Lois and Dave are fantastic hosts and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The rooms are clean and spacious, the bed is comfortable, the shower (the Achilles heel of so many a B&B) is properly good, and

Do you have a room that is accessible with a wheelchair?
Hi, we have two downstairs rooms (one twin and one double), both with easy access showers. The twin has aa access seat in the shower, whilst the room is easy to move around in. The potential issue some wheelchair users have is that the corridors on the ground floor are narrow and have two small steps, as does the front door. Most folks don’t use their wheelchair around the property. Hope this is of some help.

Do you accept dogs
Hello, Very sorry but I don't have any rooms allocated for dogs - usually the dog people I get have dogs that are left in the car which is parked at the front door.
