We stop here for a wedding, Anna was a perfect host, the two rooms were spotless and the breakfasts were cooked to order, but the most noticeable thing was Anna's attention to detail, right down to the union jacks napkins on the jubilee weekend, recommend to stop here whenever you are in the area.

Just to confirm the positive comments from other reviewers; the Rose Garden is everything that you could ask for from a B&B and so much more. I stayed as a single visitor so the double bed room with ensuite bathroom and walk in wardrobe plus access to the visitors lounge was superb. The extras and friendly welcome, recommendations of places... More

Arrived tired and hungry after a long journey and was greeted by the owner who welcomed me with a slice of cake, a cup of tea and a friendly chat about the area and the best restaurants. My room at the back was pretty small but the bed was comfortable and there were nice touches such as complimentary chocolates and... More

We have stayed in many guest houses over the past ten years and The Rose Garden has to rank among the very best. In fact, its value for money can not be beaten. My husband and I arrived to a very welcome pot of tea (china cups!)and slices of home-made cake, baked by the very friendly owner. We discovered that... More

I have just booked our second stay at The Rose Garden. We felt so welcome the first time that we knew we would be back. It adds a whole new dimension to visiting family in the North East. I have been encouraging my husband to visit his mother again ever since! The rooms are excellent. We stayed in the 'double'... More

We stayed here in December and it was our second visit. We NEVER return to places but The Rose Garden is such a gem. OUTSTANDING bedrooms with a fantastic guest lounge where you can help yourself to the complimentary drinks ~ Bailey's on a December evening was just perfect! Good quality toiletries and plenty of fresh towels etc. The breakfasts... More

I stayed here at the recommendation of a friend (Tim) and I wasnt disappointed. The room was excellent, the welcome second to none and the small touches made all the difference. Rose cottage is in a great location and I would definately stay here again if I was in the area.

A fabulous B&B, with an excellent host! As soon as we arrived we were made to feel very welcome in this wonderful guest house. The host was very welcoming, and makes time to get to know her guests over a cup of tea and some very nice homemade cake! The room we stayed in was spacious and modern but also... More

This is the perfect place to stay - just wish we were able to stay longer than our 1 night. The room was beautiful and such a pleasure to have a sitting room as well. The Veggie breafast had so much choice and was teally delicious. A relaxing and delightful stay. Ethical considerations are important here too. Nothing was too... More
