We stayed at Castri Village for 2 nights and had a pleasant stay. The apartments are spacious, clean, and the view from the balcony is simply amazing. The pool area was clean, the pool was big enough, and the restaurant was good. The breakfast buffet was excellent . Not too far from Vai Beach, and Kouremenos Beach, where ther are a few good choices for restaurants.

Everything is great about this hotel - from the lovely, very friendly and helpful staff to the fantastic view. They host a very calm and luxurious pool area with enclosed bar and restaurant. The level of cleaning is high. The quality of our stay was high stretching from car rental help to beautiful cocktails and great food. We definitely recommend this hotel!

The most adorable people run this hotel. The hotel was Beautiful situated with a lovely view. Nice clean room (hard bed) and the breakfast was realy very nice. We also had a little kitchen and fridge. The owner drove us on request to the closest little town. Ca 5 minutes by car. Bus runs twice a day. there are no taxi out there as they are situated in sitia 30 minutes away. If you would like to go to sitia you will have to take taxi back in the evening for 25_30 euro. if you are in urgent need of anything at the hotel you can not just pop out to get it. If you hire a car/bike this is a perfect place to stay. It was to far to walk for us to palikastro in the heat at daytime and to dark in the evening. Pluss the hill in the hotel site was very steep. lovely owners, hotel and vieuw but the location was a little abandoned for us half elderly women.

We spend a couple of days. The positive part is the nice view. The negative is the building is a bit old and there is not enough maintenance. The closet smells mold and a rusty nail was at the floor of the bathroom. Breakfast was bellow average. Thus the room was overpriced.

We had the most fantastic ten days here. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the staff so kind and helpful. Our apartment was spacious and had a lovely terrace overlooking the bay. We woke every day to watch the windsurfers racing back and forth. The breakfast was extensive, lots of options both hot and cold and was included in our room rate. The pool is big enough to do a few lengths. Other guests were from all over Europe, a very civilised bunch. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We punctured a tyre and Yannis spent a good two hours sorting it out for us and was calm and patient. Most people go out during the day so it never feels busy. It is extremely windy up there on the hill, beware the staircase next to the pool if wearing a full skirt! The hill is very steep and if you are driving up to your room its all in first gear, but the lane through the apartments is wide enough to pass. Cannot recommend highly enough. We will go back just as soon as we can.

Difficult to give a rating "average", but here are my impressions in every aspect: Room: if you think of an hotel room it's ok, for a typical apartment / studio in Crete the equipment is very limited. Even for a hotel room: in the main bedroom had a bed and a small desk, no chair, not even a hook for your clothes, no closet, so in the evening, we undress and clothes go to the ground ... 3/5 Cleanliness 4/5 Pool 5/5 Hall / Pool area, view, WC 5/5 Wifi 1/5 almost non-existent Buffet breakfast 3/5, quite limited (watermelon every day as the only fruit? In Greece the summer?) Staff (Friendliness) 4/5 Manager / Manager 0/5 Our main concern: no air conditioning at night from 22h till mid-morning, and one day even in the afternoon. The manager wanted to convince me that it was a mishandling on my part, then after my insistence sent one, two, three, four people to check it out, impossible to get the air conditioning working. The last day , finally , a tech came and confirmed that the compressor were over-heating dangerously. All without any excuse, without any effort to sew the situation. Shame for a hotel of this category / price, there it is 0/5 So it's globally a 2/5 but if you are lucky with the A / C everything can change.

All in all a good experience! We were just relaxing by the pool reading and listen to podcasts which was great. Most visitors had rented a car and was not at the hotel during the day. The ocean was a few minutes walk with a bit rocky but nice beach and beautiful water. Internet was good (10mbits) and we also had 4G connection.

A very mixed experience. Arriving at the hotel we realised it was even steeper than we could have guessed from the pictures, but that is no problem to us. The view is magnificent overlooking the bay, filled with windsurfers from dawn to dusk. The rooms are big, clean and is what you can expect from a mid-priced greek hotel. The pool area is nice and rarely very populated, so it is easy grabbing a sunchair and just relax. The breakfast buffet is not sensational, but very ok. But then you have to have lunch and dinner too... and then it is time to leave. We ate at the hotel twice, and that was twice too often. Completely disastrous and overpriced, probably taking advantage of the hotel being a bit outside the tiny village. Use ten minutes of walking one way to get to the beach restaurants. Better food at better prices. Then buy some mineral water and some beer and bring to your room - at about half the price compared to the hotel. And do not mess with the owner, a strange mix of Bruce the Shark from Finding Nemo and Basil Fawlty from Fawlty Towers...who got badly irritated when we changed tables in the empty (not surprising) restaurant because of some flickering lights. Stay here for swimming in the pool, tanning and sleeping - but the rest of the time you better go somewhere else.

I was there in early July 2016. This hotel was built by a Cretan restaurant owner who made money in Paris, sold it all and decided to come back home. The owner and his family who run the place are really charming, I got to watch the semi-finals of Euro 2016 with them. The resort consists of several multi units bungalows, located along a hill, over the large bay. Each unit has a fridge and a stove, ans is modern and well equipped. Our unit had a large balcony with an incredible panoramic view, which is almost worth the price by itself. No problem with parking. The wi-fi in the room was a bit iffy but was OK by the beautiful pool. Breakfast was a nice buffet. All in all one of our best experience of our 15 days stay in Crete. It was however a bit more expensive than other hotels during our stay.
