We arrived at the electra palace Hotel in rhodes on sat night the main restaurant was closed but we where told we could use the Italian restaurant where we had a pizza. After we went up to our room which was really clean and quiet spacious there was a basket of fruit on the table and drinks in the fridge also slippers and dressing gowns where provided. We woke to sunshine and a fantastic view from our balcony. The hotel had 3 or 4 different restaurant and a coffee shop plenty of bars and a private beach the staff where lovely and really helpful Larry was great made our holiday making us laugh as he got our drinks and he did it immediately a word he liked to use often he was so funny and friendly great food great hotel great holiday would definitely go again

After reading negative reviews before we arrived I was unsure of what to expect. The Travel time from airport to the hotel was approx 25 mins which was great. The hotel felt completely covid safe, hand sanitiser on every table, staff always had gloves on in the bars and restaurants. We travelled in the October half term and it was really quiet. We just had one shower on one of the afternoons. All of the staff work very hard and seemed to work long hours. They were all very pleasant. The hotel rooms were lovely, clean and modern. We had a sea view room which was nice but no sun in the afternoon. Due to covid there wasn’t much entertainment at night but some jazz playing in the bar which gave it a lovely atmosphere. There was a great swimming pool, kids pool, supermarket, abs a couple of al a carte restaurants which were lovely, in particular the Italian! Overall we had a great holiday, the hotel was lovely , I don’t think we would return but that’s just because we like to visit different hotels.

This was the 3rd time we have visited Electra Palace and a few things have changed for the good, some bad and some stayed the same. Negatives first. We arrived at around 9.30 in the evening but there was no food provided for us and no offer to go into one of the restaurants that stay open until 10 which isn’t acceptable for a 5 star. Our room was basic and very clean apart from the patio door hanging off which meant we couldn’t open the door properly. The last time we stayed i mentioned for a 5 star there should be table serve in the bars but you still have to queue to get a drink but it was very quiet so wasn’t as bad as last time. There wasn’t any evening entertainment or background music , on the first couple of nights nothing and then a group came to play outside in the cold then they were allowed inside after 3 nights but that was it for entertainment. The hotel weren’t interested in entertaining its adult guests or children they were happier for everyone to go to a local bar and not be drinking in the hotel, apparently using COVID as an excuse but I know that another hotel Akti imperial in ixia and hotel next door had full entertainment day and night. Positives. The food in all the restaurants was excellent with a good variety. The staff are all great, always very helpful and polite. On Tuesday afternoon they had street food with a great band which was great, could have really done with this a couple of times in the evening for a bit of atmosphere. The animation Team were great even though they could only do there jobs properly through the day as no entertainment was allowed in the evening. A huge thank you to Emma, a real credit to the entertainment team and hotel, with her boundless energy, positivity and friendliness really made our holiday, beautiful girl inside and out. she even manage to get my husband and daughter addicted to aqua gym in that freezing pool. 🥶

The hotel to start is very nice, and the staff are welcoming. The food is top quality and especially the Italian restaurant and the Greek restaurant for lunch. The activity instructors are also bubbly and want to get everyone involved. I would recommend I had a great time.

Travelled with Jet2 and arrived after 10 at the hotel. Just myself and my husband so no queue to check in. Was given a small folding handout and told you eat here, you drink there, your room is there... that was about the extent of the intro to the hotel. We had to take ourselves and our cases to our room which was nice and clean. Good thing we are able bodied and able to take ourselves to the room in this 4+/5 star hotel. The room was nice as I said, however we paid for a sea view room, but not so much for the corner that you did indeed see sea water but more of the carpark outside reception. We also struggled on for 2 nights in the rock hard beds until we asked if there was anything that could be done? We were supplied with toppers and it was brilliant after this. Seriously, we have firm mattresses here at home but the hotel beds were punishing. There are so few staff that it has a very real impact on the stay. At best this is a bit of a pain like having to queue for drinks, no guest relations to discuss issues with or book a la cartes with. At worst this is a really risky situation when glasses and tables aren't cleared. This is extremely poor and increases the risk of Covid. The lovely lady at the restaurant doubles as the guest relations - in so far as she takes the bookings for the a la carte Asian and Italian restaurants. This makes it difficult to book these. Whilst taking about that. They have these a la cartes open on alternative nights further halving the availability of these. No wonder they are near impossible to book. We did manage to get booked in to both of them (we put our case to the management at reception!) and they were amazing. Delicious. Served by the most amazing team. It was here we met Koula, a stand out member of staff who is an absolute gem. My advice would be to make her guest relations! She seems to have an instant rapport with guests, listens and is just so great. Other than Koula, Elsa and Elvis were our favourites. They work so hard and have such great attitudes, despite (I can't stress this enough) being beyond short staffed. On to the Jet2 Rep - We arrived on the Monday night and the Rep only visits the hotel on Monday, Friday and Sunday. Yes they have telephone helplines - all UK telephone numbers which presumably cost guests to call when on resort and any attempt to contact through messenger took days for them to respond to. Whilst I have never appreciated the hard sell of trips, the reps meeting on arrival is really useful if you haven't been somewhere before. That is also half the holiday nearly before a rep attends if you arrive on the Monday night and are staying for a week. When we did go to check on the Friday what time the Rep would be there to find she was about to leave. We didn't realise the visit was in the morning and she was quite dismissive asking if there was something she could help us with "quickly"? No, not "quickly" and she was clearly disinterested about to go to one of the 13 hotels she tells us she covers. Plain rude. I'll address this with Jet2 directly and really not the hotel's problem, other than prehaps they could assist guests to contact the Rep? When I did go to them, they scrapped about in a drawer and said they didn't know how to do this, pointing me back to rep boards and the UK telephone numbers. The food throughout was really tasty. Maybe not everything was to our taste but you be be very hard pushed not to find something yummy to eat. It has so much going for it but for the lack of essentially sufficient staffing, it falls short of the mark and we won't return.
