We booked this holiday as part of a package and this was the resort selected for us. Location: fontane Bianche is located on a little strip of beach and is 1 in only a hand full of resorts in that area. It's isolated and there's nothing interesting to see within walking distance from the resort. To get to Catania airport is a 50 mins drive roughly, it therefore costs a lot for a transfer (we were quoted 200 euros for a return transfer). So it get to the resort it may more worthwhile to hire a car. Facilities and entertainment: the reps, staff and everyone working there were great to chat with. Our contact and the receptionists spoke the best English. The bar tender spoke only Italian, which is shocking considering he is working in the hospitality industry. Everyone was friendly and helpful and great company. We went during mid October so it was towards the end of the season, a lot of activities and entertainment/performances were slowly closing down. We were able to join in with the baby dancing session, and live music entertainment only. However just by listening to the staff and by looking at the entertainment schedule, I can only assume that during the peak season there will be plenty of entertainment for everyone of any age. Food: not what you would expect for sonehwere in Italy. Surprisingly their menu consists mainly of grilled meats, vegetables grilled or cooked with olive oil and lots of parmesan cheese. Small amounts of pasta, spaghetti, bolognase. No lasagne what so ever. The tiramisu tasted slightly different to what we have in our supermarket. Sicilian arancini was served (tastes better when purchased outside the hotel) however the favourite cannoli (pastry filled with ricotta cheese and pistachio nuts) wasn't served during our stay. No panettone either. Lots of prosecco and coffee though. Rooms: we stayed in a bungalow type room. The floors were all tiled so when opening the door upon entering there will always be dirt on the floor even though they were mopped by the maid. Our windows were closed so no mosquitoes could enter but they were able to enter though an open vent in the bathroom. Our toilet was blocked, toilet seat was broken and shower door was broken all during our first night there. All of which were reported and deadly with very quickly. The room is not what we expecting for a four star resort. Other: lots of parking spaces available. It was empty when we visited. The toilets near recording really smell, even though it was hardly used during our stay due to the limited guests and the maid cleaned regularly it still smells like a public macdonalds toilet. The lobby is the only place with WiFi and has a poor signal range. At night the lights were not switched on in the lobby, it was therefore very hard to see!! Despite giving us a family room they never gave us enough towels, only after the first night we came back to our room with a baby bath tub, bottle warmer and other bits we might need for a young child. Overall of you have low exoecting, this hotel will be alright for you. Me and my husband were scared to sleep at night in feae of getting bitten and couldn't walk bare foot around the room because it was sorry despite being mopped, which made us miserable because that's the only time we can get comfortable (before bed time). Be prepared up pay a lot fot transfer to the airport or hire a car. The location is great if you want a relaxing beach holiday only.

We visited this hotel on 14/10/2018. Was downgraded by our travel agent to the bungalow garden room which are 3 star and awful away from main hotel cold & dark beds very uncomfortable. Luckily on our 2nd day the very helpful receptionist sibiona offered us a sea view room in the hotel which really made all the difference to our holiday. Inside rooms are lovely & more comfortable as they are 4star. You will need to hire a car but do this before you arrive as it's cheaper. Taxi is €90 one way. The food was nice different options daily friendly staff Beach was nice but we were getting attacked by wasps. No one was In pool all out in the sea. Visited syracusa if you have own car easy place to get to & walk. Mount etna we did on way back to airport as it's 30 minutes away beutiful place highly recommended cable car closed when we got there so look up times before you go. All in all good hotel friendly staff Oh gym equipment not even working did not go wellness centre indoor pool is extra charge Hope this helps

Hotel is located right on beach but far from shops. You need to have own transport, I recommend you rent a car from Zest car hire from the uk picking up at airport. The jurney takes about 50 mins. Food : very good variety selection of fish, pork beef, lots of different fruits and cakes WiFi Internet is awful, could not connect at all. We had a good time there but would not go back.
