The Lido Corfu Sun is a 4-star hotel situated in the popular resort of Benitses. The hotel is only 200 m from the beach, but also offers a nice pool area with sunny terrace. The hotel has 54 simply decorated but comfortable guest rooms. Each room has private bathrooms, air conditioning and a balcony, many of which have sea views. A buffet breakfast is included in the room rate and during the summer this is served on the terrace. The restaurant is also open during the day and night and serves a good selection of Mediterranean dishes including many local specialties. The Lido Corfu Sun enjoys a great position in Benitses; there are many tavernas, bars and shops within walking distance. The hotel is also close to a bus stop, ideal for exploring the island of Corfu.

We stayed here for a week as part of a good value all inclusive TUI package during a hot spell at the end of August. We had read the reviews and felt it was the right place for us as seasoned travellers. The hotel is well kept and spacious. Our room, 311, had a good sized private balcony with a good view of the sea, and the 7am sunrise. The room is well laid out, not luxurious, but with air con, fridge, TV and comfy bed it suited us. The bathroom was compact but functional and like the room always kept very clean with daily visits from the great cleaning team. The staff were always friendly and clearly take a pride in their jobs and the hotel, keen to do their best. The all inclusive package is typical of similar hotels - it essentially means a choice of tasty food for three meals a day, and limitless drinks as long as you don't want branded names or cocktails (which you can pay for or make DIY versions yourself with a bit of creativity!). 5 minutes walk away is a private space at the waters edge with loungers and umbrellas away from the sometimes busy poolside and nearby road noise. If you don't have a car, then the hotel is at the last stop for the public city blue bus from Corfu town, and also close to a stop for the independent Green buses which cover the rest of the island - ask at reception for a timetable and advice as to which stop to wait at. For us, at the price, it all worked for us and it felt like we were always welcome. As long as you manage your expectations it's a great base to explore Corfu, or simply relax and be looked after.

The hotel was lovely with old world charm, we had a gorgeous balcony with views over the sea and mountains to watch the sunrise every day. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Special shout out to beautiful soul Maria who looked after the rooms, made special folded towel artworks every day and was so kind and friendly to us; sunny Spiros who made us so many delicious cocktails; Artan for the easy lifts into Benitses; and Calli & Tori at reception for making us feel so welcome and being helpful with every question and request we had. Bus stop outside the door made it easy to ride straight into Corfu Old Town on the number 6 bus all day and evening (about 25 minutes away). The hotel provides a free shuttle bus into sweet nearby village Benitses (5 minutes away) 2x/day also. So much home cooked yummy food buffets 3x/day, I ate so much I think I might have turned into an olive! The icing on the cake was the sunny pool for relaxing with a beer or cocktail all day long reading a good book, which was all I really wanted on my holiday... but I got so much more than that. We took a trip to nearby Sissi's Palace which was so romantic, wandered around the Old Town, and went on a spin around the bay on the pirate ship, would recommend all this. Thank you Lido Sun Hotel, we left our hearts in Corfu!

Overall we had a relaxing stay at lido corfu , the staff were very friendly, reception staff were very helpful in regards to local information and bus timetabling. The room and hotel in general had a lovely traditional feel with fresh sheets everyday and the maids making lovely arrangements with the towels. We stayed on the second floor with a veranda. The pool area was gorgeous, very quiet, no fighting for sunbeds, lovely cushioned sunbeds at that! One of the cleanest pools I have seen! However, the hotel is in a remote area and only has entertainment two nights of the week , one greek dancing night on Sunday and a band on Thursday, this means evenings at the hotel are quite boring and as we are a young couple we often took the hotels shuttle to the local town of geniuses for some drinks and more entertaining nightlife. Despite the hotel being in close proximity to this lovely town, the road to this is not paved and unlit at night, we walked back one evening and it was quite dangerous so no good for evening walks. The private "beach" is located on this dangerous road, its lovely when you're down there however quite a treacherous walk and very steep decline. Beach shoes. definitely needed for the water! Also, there was only two juice options at the beach and no other drinks choices despite a fully built bar area. Drinks overall I deem quite poor , very watered down spirits and many drinks have to be paid for , most disappointingly the cocktails as not even basic cocktails are part of the all inclusive. Me and my partner don't drink beer or wine therefore it was quite a waste of money. Food was average for an all-inclusive in my opinion, buffet-style, I enjoyed the moussaka and the desserts in particular. Probably the best desserts I've had at an all inclusive. We had a flight at midnight and had to check out at 11am, asked for a late checkout room and 150 euros was asked for to proceed with the room and all inclusive despite us not receiving any food the day we arrived, thankfully we were given a ticket for free dinner as I had emailed prior to ensure we weren't left with no food on the last day. Overall, I wouldn't return based on the all inclusive deal, entertainment and cost of extending the room. Not advised for young couples in my opinion.

Very concerned by the 5* ratings people have left. We would rate this hotel as 2.5* hotel. Good points - The staff at the hotel were very helpful - the pillows on the bed were nice and soft, the beach once reached down a steep slope was pleasant enough on a nice day. Bad points - Entertainment only twice a week which consisted of two men and one lady singing. Local traditional dancers Two men and one lady. The location of the hotel was off a very busy main road without paths this made it difficult to walk anywhere without putting your life at risk. All-inclusive drinks were limited to local beer, red and white wine, Ouzo, Gin, Vodka and a Brandy, you had to pay extra for mixers unless you had sweet powdery lemon, lime type mixers provided. All-inclusive snacks were provided at 17:00 each day these consisted of sweet filled greasy puff pastry or very occasionally sausage meat and that's all. They all disappeared within half an hour so if like us by the time we had checked in to the hotel there was nothing left to eat. Our Bathroom had a nasty smell coming from it resulting in having to keep the window open for the whole stay, after talking to other people this seems to be a common fault. Finally, you cannot get bottled water unless you pay extra. If you have already booked Good Luck

Hotel is around nothing within walking distance the hotel offers free transport to benitses at specific times were there’s several restaurants and bars and a few shops there is a pebbled beach and a marina We Arrived and checked into room 202 nice room big enough for us 2 very comfy bed air con and safe was free Rooms cleaned daily towels changed every 2 days Bathroom tiny but big enough for us but bigger people May struggle Food was good we enjoyed the variety Drinks are dreadful and you have to pay for most of them which is robbery as All Inclusive should mean All Inclusive You also have to pay for Ice Cream so I feel for people who go with kids Pool area is nice although every bed is shaded and the beds are to heavy to move we think there shaded so everyone goes the beach so they don’t use the all inclusive Also the sun beds covers need cleaning regularly they are filthy. Private beach is not opposite the hotel is a 8 minute walk down a busy road then through steptoes backyard then down a steep hill so if your bad on your legs your gonna struggle There is a video on YouTube called Lido Corfu Sun beach walk Mario and Mike behind the Bar are nice as were all the staff to be honest the cleaners were also nice and polite everyday Lots of steps and steep slopes in this hotel also We love Greece and this is our 1st time in Corfu and we left bitterly disappointed with this hotels All Inclusive policy hotels like this that are in the middle of nowhere should do everything to attract people to come back and visit again.
Overall would we recommend this Hotel No We didn’t have a bad stay here we are just annoyed at the additional costs for drinks ice creams and snacks etc that wasn’t advertised when booking as we wouldn’t of booked it knowing this. We wanted to see more of Corfu but couldn’t because our spends soon dried up.
We will try Corfu again but a different area

Was not impressed by this hotel at all. Full of trip hazards and stairs. The hotel was on a very busy road with no pavements. Had to walk along it to even get to the bus stop and beach. The hotel was out on a limb, so if you like a supermarket or shops, restaurants near you, forget this place. The nearest village is Benitses which is a 10 minute bus ride away. The hotel runs a 7 seater shuttle bus there at 13.00 and comes back at 20.00!! Corfu Town is 35 minutes on the bus. The hotel beach is about 150 yards, along the busy road and down a stoney path. We only went there the once as it was just pebbles, rocks and wooden planking. The room is mainly taken up by the bed which has sharp right angled corners on it. We had many a bruise from it. The TV has one English channel on it. BBC World news. To watch the TV you have to lie on the bed straining your neck, as you cant lean back against the headboard due to it having a ledge on it. Bathroom was very compact. Food was at most tepid but generally cold. We had to microwave it to try and warm up things like egg and bacon. Only 2 types of cake every evening. Pool was reasonable, but sun loungers mainly were in the shade. Loads of mosquitos about. Reception staff were friendly. Had to pay for bottled water and even ice cream and we went all inclusive. Will not be going back.

The hotel was the worst choice as far as we traveled (price-quality ratio) Although it was "all inclusive", the hotel felt like saving everywhere. Small bathrooms, many stairs and climbs, the mission to go to the beach to the sea is possible, but risky because there are no sidewalks, and the traffic of cars is like a highway, I don't even want to remember. The selection of food is quite narrow and repetitive. The drinks offered were of poor quality and a narrow selection, and everything else was paid for, even carbonated water. I would rate the hotel only 3 stars

The location was beautiful, hotel site clean and well maintained. The beach decked areas was beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful. However it was astonishing that the All inclusive did not include tonic water. I do not know anyone who drinks straight gin. We could get a gin on the All inclusive but not tonic. This is ridiculous. I have stayed all inclusive on Greek Islands over 20 years and have never been anywhere where a tonic water was not in the All inclusive. They were making guests pay 3 Euros for a small bottle of tonic. People were going to the local mini market to buy big bottles of tonic water, only to be told by bar staff, the bottles must not be visible. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Hotel is a really lovely peaceful hotel, myself and husband enjoyed our stay. This hotel is perfect if you want a holiday just to relax and not do much, although there is trips supplied by a company that the hotel uses ( we found this cheaper than going through our holiday company). The lady at the desk during the day was very helpful. If you have a light flight it's worth paying extra to stay longer as usually they may want you to check out early but that meant waiting around. Also be careful if your wobbly on your feet like myself as there's alot of steps and a steep hill at hotel. Didn't use the beech at hotel as lots of sea urchins but the sea at the local town was great and can get a free shuttle into the town in morning, afternoon and evening.

We have just come back from staying here, family of four with kids aged 13 and 15. Very small hotel with small pool, at first it felt too small but in fact it was a nice change. Food average, a lot of recycling going on and not a huge choice, but nice enough. Got picky kids though, who ended up eating spag bol and/or chips for lunch and dinner most days. There is a really nice taverna a couple of doors down from the hotel though, definitely recommend! Private beach is about a 5 min walk, not really a beach, it's decking/a jetty. We hired a car for a couple of days and went to Kontokali beach one day (OK not massive but has a nice restaurant right behind it) and Gardenos beach one day, which was a large beach with loads of loungers, but still managed to feel fairly intimate - definitely recommend! There was a restaurant here too, but we didn't go apart from to get ice creams. Rooms were nice in the hotel though - we had two - clean and well maintained. AI alcohol consisted of beer and local spirits that were definitely watered down! Cocktails were about 9 euros, and very nice! Definitely not watered down. Loungers by the pool very comfy and it all felt very relaxed, no one rushed down to put towels down.... you'd still need to get down there for about 10/10.30 to get space though. Staff very nice. We got the shuttle bus into Benitses one day and walked back (doable but horrendous in 35 degree heat), it's OK but nothing amazing and the beach is not much better. It has a nice harbour though. Beware you have to pay a local tax of 3 euros pp pn when you check in and they want cash payment. Also beware of the mosquitos!
