We spent five nights at Akrotiri in a Superior West Bay View room. The room was fresh and very up-to-date. Views were spectacular. The price point was excellent on our five night plan-especially since we were arriving from Italy where the room would have been at least double the cost. The concierge service was very helpful (securing us dinner and beach club reservations, taxis and even an iron). What really sets the place apart is access to Akron Beach Club which is awesome. We ventured to the pool when the sea was too wavy for swimming and it, too, was lovely, with gorgeous views. Breakfast was excellent in terms of quality and selection and we loved eating it outside on the adjacent patio. Most nights we dined at Nereids--a wonderful local restaurant within a five minute walk. I searched a long time to find a place that wasn't an all-inclusive but offered on-site beach services and beautiful grounds. This place didn't disappoint.

We spent a week here with our 2 teenage kids [aged 18 and 15] and we all absolutely loved this hotel. The location is just stunning, with gorgeous views on both sides. We had a room overlooking the seaward side, down the cliffs to the 'rocky beach' and the kids had a room overlooking the bustlier bay side with the sandy beach.

The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff are really friendly. We were half board, so breakfast and dinner buffets were included and we all loved the food. Nothing ever ran out, there was loads of choice [including lots of salad and fruit] and the dining room had a nice, relaxed atmosphere. You don't always get to eat outside [you have to time it right], but when you do it's glorious. Even in the dining room you can sit by the big open windows and get a feel of being outside.

There are lots of different areas to sit, down on the cliffs [these seats go early!], round the pool or on the wide terrace. There's a beach bar that does delicious lunches.

There are lots of other restaurants and a couple of supermarkets within walking distance of the hotel. The dive school is also just down some steps on the beach, which meant that my son doing is PADI diving course was really easy.

We walked into Paleokastritsa in about 20 minutes. There's no pavement so it wouldn't be a great walk with little kids, but otherwise it's fine. We walked up to the monestary and back from the hotel easily.

We took advantage of the airport pick-up and drop-off service offered in our package and this ran like clockwork. Lovely taxi was waiting for us when we arrived and booking our return trip was simple and efficient.

I was also able to book a massage through the hotel, which took place in a glorious tent-like structure just up from the beach. The private masseuse was excellent.

The location of the hotel allows for hours and hours of snorkelling in different locations, which basically kept the kids busy for most of the week. They swam for miles in and out of coves and caves and over shallow rock pools. The water around the hotel is really quite breathtaking. I'd also recommend taking a boat trip with the company directly opposite the the hotel [Paleo Sea Tours I think they were called] as that was a real highlight of the holiday.

The hotel made for a really brilliant and totally relaxing break.

I had an amazing stay with my family and would not hesitate to return to this wonderful hotel. The location and views, this is a beautiful area on the island of Corfu and the views from everywhere in the hotel will just take your breath away. The communal areas around the hotel are modern, relaxing and welcoming. Some very nice areas to have a drink and just chill. There is a lovely public beach (sun loungers to rent at a reduced price for hotel stayers), otherwise many (free) hotel sun loungers around pool area, the hotel’s own Rocky Beach and other areas. We stayed in late August and unfortunately, were never able to get a sun lounger at the Rocky Beach and at times, at other communal areas with sun loungers as they had been ‘reserved’ by people staying at the hotel (despite signs that sun loungers should not be reserved and left vacant from more than 30 minutes). Sun loungers were left vacant with towels for endless hours … very annoying, but nothing to do with the hotel.
The rooms were great, comfy beds and good size, amazing views.
The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a wide range of choice and fresh produce.
We did not do half board but hotel made some excellent recommendations for restaurants.
Finally, the staff were just amazing. Kind, always smiling and very accommodating. They cannot be faulted, from the staff in the restaurant, to the cleaning staff and the reception staff. A special mention for Fotini who went out of her way to make our stay perfect and upgrade us from a family room to two rooms on the 5th floor. Thank you to all the staff at the Akrotiri beach resort hotel. Hope to see you again !

Firstly this hotel is in a superb position with amazing views.
The staff here are very pleasant and helpful.
The pool area with it's infinity pool is very relaxing, but unfortunately sun loungers are limited and often reserved with towels etc.
Due to the fact we needed a walk-in shower, we booked a private deck room (€238 per night B/B) which had that facility.
The antiquated shower fell short of our expectations and the private deck with jacuzzi was a very small area and not fit for purpose. Situated in the shade the sun loungers were covered in pine needles and ants, which was not very appealing. We used neither of these facilities.
Breakfast is completely self service in a very pleasant dining room. Unfortunately there are limited cereals and the "hot" cooked area was barely warm with cold plates. Congealed fried eggs are not very appetising.
After difficult times due to Covid we were really looking forward to this holiday and were disappointed by the overall lack of attention to detail.

Response from Akrotiri Beach Hotel, Guest Services / Front Office at Akrotiri Beach Resort Hotel
Responded Oct 1, 2022
Dear Janet, It is always a pleasure to receive feedback from our valued guests. First and foremost we would like to thank you for your compliments regarding our kind and friendly staff, and the unique location. However, we sincerely regret that you were not completely comfortable in your allocated private-deck room with a jacuzzi and sunbeds on a private veranda, which is offered complementarily, as our main goal is to offer memorable and happy holidays for every single one of our guests. Concerning your comment about the buffet breakfast, we are deeply disappointed and surprised by your comments as gastronomy is one of our most important services, where we offer a wide variety of options at the main restaurant, in which all foods have high-quality ingredients. Nevertheless, we apologize we could not completely meet your standards on this occasion. As our guests’ satisfaction is a top priority for us , we apologize that your stay with us seemed less than perfect, we wish you all the best and we hope you give us another chance in the near future so we can exceed your expectations. Kind Regards Guest Relations Manager Akrotiri-Beach Resort Hotel

The hotel is beautiful, directly on the sea, precisely on the beach of Agia triada. Through the reception, you can book umbrellas and sunbeds and I recommend doing so because we have not found a place. You can also sit on the hotel deck chairs on the terraces that descend to the beach.
There is also the possibility to swim and sit on the sun loungers of Rocky beach on the other side, where the sea is very beautiful, but on the rocks and here you descend through a ladder. The downside is that these last beds are kept very badly and are almost all smashed and therefore very uncomfortable.
The pool is very nice and equipped with bar, even here there is not always place.
The view from the hotel is beautiful.
Breakfast rich in sweet and savory, you can also dine buffet at a cost of 39 euros per person but we did not use.
There is also a mini gym where you can possibly train with exercise bikes, treadmill and rowing machine.
They organize Greek evening once a week with à la carte menus and upon request, they can also arrange home massages or boat trips through local operators.
The staff is very helpful but speaks almost exclusively English, very little Italian.
The rooms are spacious nice and with a nice view.
Another small negative note is the parking with few spaces compared to the number of cars so sometimes you have to leave the keys at reception.
The paleokastriza area is undoubtedly the best of Corfu, at least as a sea, maybe not as an evening life, there being no real country, so this property can be good both to live it fully using all the comforts and to move by car to other beaches, if you want to explore the island.
I give 4 stars and not 5 because the few negative aspects can be improved, also considering that we are not talking about cheap prices.

Booked room a superior room with bay views, given room 505. We arrived at night so waking in the morning to the spectacular view was such a treat.

The hotel is spotless, modern and smells wonderful! There are fantastic views from every corner of the hotel, the breakfast area, many lounges, pool, etc.

Breakfast was plentiful and offered different items daily.

The small beach was lovely, the beds and parasol can be rented and reserved from Akron beach bar for half price for hotel guests.

Cons:
The room is a little tight, if we had large luggage, not sure where it would be stored.

Parking in the lot is very limited for the size of the hotel, but parking on the road just outside the gates was close and easy.

The hotel setting is beautiful overlooking the water on both sides of the hotel. You do have beach access, on both sides as well. The water is on the cold side but it’s typical for the Mediterranean Sea. The pool area is very nice and it has a restaurant on the premises for lunch and drinks. The hotel itself was renovated in May 2023 so it is beautiful with well appointed but small rooms. All rooms have a veranda overlooking the sea. The staff is exceptional. Upon arrival we got a tour of the hotel and its services and the couple of restaurants within the hotel or within walking distance. They particularly feature one on the beach, called “Akron“ which is a sister restaurant and you get 50% off on the lounges and umbrellas in front of it overlooking the water. The food is actually quite good at the restaurant as well and you can have lunch or dinner there and the staff at the front office are happy to make reservations for you. The breakfast is excellent and worth the extra fee, with unobstructed views overlooking the water from the breakfast area are also beautiful in the morning where you can also see the sunrise. They do provide special nights for entertainment for the guests and on Sunday nights, they have a traditional Greek dinner with dance for a reasonable price. The sunsets in September happen around 8 PM and they are glorious overlooking the bay from any of the rooms or the social areas. Overall this is probably one of the best places to stay in Corfu and we are delighted that we chose to stay here.

Ok, this may have usually got 4.5 stars due to some minor niggles, but the brilliant way that the hotel has adjusted to the Covid situation cannot be faulted. Everything is spotlessly clean, new bathroom and pool towels every day, and the restaurant has completely switched from buffet-style to full-waiter service in order to decrease health risks.
The location is amazing in the centre of this breath-taking resort, with spectacular views from every room and public place, and most staff are incredibly friendly.
A few things to consider if you are initially wary of the room prices for a week; free Airport transfer, aircon, wifi, safe and a very nice breakfast saved us well over £200. The towel situation meant we didn't need to pay for hold luggage, so overall I believe we saved approximately £40 per night on a normal s/c apartment. Just a thought.

Cannot fault this hotel in any way. We booked directly with the hotel last year for a week so received an early birds discount and free transfer from the airport which was seamless.
Everything about the hotel was outstanding- the staff, the location, the food, view from the room…everything! Breakfast was superb and we ate out every night at a different restaurant, plenty to choose from within walking distance.
Bearing in mind we were there in peak season and the hotel was full, it always felt calm and chilled.
Loved swimming off the rocks and being so close to the beach. Hired a boat one day which was great fun.
Highly recommend this gorgeous hotel and beautiful Paleokastritsa!

Me and my Bf was there for 6 days and we are really disappointed! I don’t know how there it’s so many good reviews because is not normal ! This is not 5 star hotel at all , not even 4 !!!!!!! The only good thing it’s the view and that’s all ! The rooms it’s very small and very poor quality! There is not even iron in the room ! I have to reguest 2 times to have it for half day ! So from the evening and then in the morning we received the iron broken ! And then agaij going to beg for other one !!!!!! The reception people try to be nice but there is not help or understanding! All what they can say it’s sorry we can’t help!!!!!! And basically ….The breakfast was the same every day and poor quality, not more than 3 different fruits for example so I literally decided to skip it !We went to the restaurant and honestly nothing special. You can’t eat outside because it’s full of wasps! I never experienced such a behaviour from front desk as I’ve been. In 27 countries and I’m really deeply disappointed! If you like
To pay £250 per night for shoes box room with old furniture and you can’t get even one iron come on! I don’t recommend this hotel at all

To answer your second question, Nereids is within walking and was excellent. There aren't very many restaurants within walking distance of Akrotiri.

The hot tub us more if a Jacuzzi and wasn't heated (probably just as well as the weather temperatures were high). Not sure if the pool was heated, but it is in the sun all day and was the perfect temperature. It's a great pool.
