We have stayed three times now because it is so beautiful and lovely; the owners Maria and her family cannot do enough for their guests - they are incredibly kind, generous and thoughtful. I am slightly reluctant to review again as it is getting increasingly difficult to book due to popularity and sheer number of repeat guests she has! Which means I may not be able to rebook when I want to!! The purpose of the repeat review is to confirm consistency in the service and accommodation provided. We have stayed in studios 3 and 4 and they are both of a good size; 4 is on the end of the block and has a little type of hallway where the kitchen area also is. Studio 3 is surprisingly spacious with the kitchen area at the back and the bedroom at the front opening on to the terrace; with the shutters down it keeps it darker in the mornings a bit. We can’t decide which one we prefer!!! The aircon is really good and is included in the price of rental. Although a couple of sun beds are provided, you can easily hop over the stairs next-to, and rent sunbeds from Belvedere overlooking the beach (5€ x 2 all day) - even do it “German-style” by reserving with beach towels first thing (please don’t be insulted, German readers, I know you will laugh!). I cannot overestimate how beautiful it is. If you are looking for something super-simple, quiet and relaxing yet with all amenities literally a stone’s throw away, you cannot find better. The sea is immediately in front but if you prefer a pool, you can use any in Paleokastritsa for the price of a drink there. Although that would rather defeat the object of staying here. Just those who cannot manage over a hundred steps down to it will have to self-select out, I’m afraid.

We stayed at Kalypso for ten nights in July 2017. The apartments have a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and terrace. Nothing fancy, but nice, simple and clean. Ideal for self-catering. The garden offers a quiet hideaway and direct access to the (pebbly) beach just ten stair steps away. The owners (Maria and her husband) are available to give any advice from booking a boat in Paleokastritsa to recommending spots around the island. We were welcomed with homemade wine, jam and olive oil. Thanks again for that :) We made a 20% downpayment via PayPal and paid the remainder in cash at arrival. Our insider tipp for Paleokastritsa visitors: Hike up to Lakones village (30 minutes), and enjoy the view over the Ionian Sea while having a coffee at Cafe Eftichis. Michael & Sarah from Germany

Lovely, simple apartments in a stunning location. The apartments overlook a beautiful bay and you can access a little (stony) beach down some small stairs at the bottom of the garden. Take your swimming beach shoes as it is quite stony but it's lovely; very quiet and calm. Despite dire warnings of mosquitoes, I don't think it was the time of year, as we didn't spot even one (July). We had everything we needed in the apartment; filter coffee maker and a jug kettle, plus a 2-ring hob for cooking and a range of utensils, cutlery and crockery. A good sized fridge with small freezer compartment. The bathroom was a nice size (Eg not cramped) with plenty of hot water for the shower. The hairdryer is an on the wall type, which is ok in an emergency but for actual styling, probably best to bring your own. The bedroom was also a good size and contained a large wardrobe that's not visible in the photos. The a/c (which is included in the price) was superb and worked really well. Best of all was the private veranda, where you could sit and look through the garden over to the bay beyond (each apartment has its own veranda segregated off from your neighbour. It was very quiet and peaceful - just the sound of the sea and the cicadas! Just along the beach, to the right when looking out, was the Dolphin restaurant - an excellent family-run taverna that served lovely traditional Greek cuisine. Everything we had there was delicious and it is all freshly cooked to order. The chicken souvlaki was very, very good. Free starters and desserts or digestifs. Above the Kalypso apts, is the Belvedere and they have a little pool and pool bar which is open to anyone purchasing a drink. So, all in all, you have everything you need right by you. There is a limited amount if parking nearby and it's also about a ten minute walk to the main coves of Paleokastritsa. Lilos and boogie boards left behind by previous residents are kept at the side of the garden. In the garden are a couple of sunloungers plus table and chairs, and a little BBQ. The apartment is cleaned twice a week. Maria was so lovely; super-helpful throughout booking, and on arrival, we were given local olive oil, some delicious rose wine and their own kumquat jam. Also some delicious home grown tomatoes. We will definitely stay again.

I want to present you only the facts and conclusion is yours: -location is fantastic, from studio to beach you have few meters -the view is unbelievable -the silence is perfect -you have to climb to the main road 118 steps and they are quite steep, with the lugagge is unpleasant -you have a little supermarket not far(on main road) -Dolphin restaurant, few meters away,is the best choice(my opinion) in Paleokastrita.Home made food, wine is very good, price is reasonable -the beach is in the front of studios but is very rocky.Careful.Stones are sharp and could cause you wounds.Use beach shoes(mandatory) -the snorkelling here is a joke.Trust me,i was in many places where the snorkelling is a pleasure but here is very boring -the port is very close and you can rent boats -ATV for rent not far(main road) -staff was helpful and nice, help you in any problem -greek hospitality is fantastic -cleaning is done once every three days I"ll post pictures because one picture is more than thousand words.

The apartment was perfect, just what we were looking for. We are two friends who just wanted some peace and quiet for a few days. Sunshine, sea, traditional Greek food and hospitality. Thank you so much Maria and Aris that's exactly what we got! We self-catered mostly, and for 2 people it's ideal. Also went to the Dolphin just a couple of minutes away for great food and friendly family-run service. Cannot recommend the apartments highly enough. If you are looking for a beautiful view and a place to kick back for a few days and read a book or two, Maria and Aris' place is for you. The homemade wine, fruits, olives were a lovely touch for a welcome! Definitely coming back ;) ps. Maria and Aris also recommended/booked Spiros who is a great taxi driver much cheaper than the airport, ask for him, very reliable. Happy travels :)
