We had read reviews about the top rooms having the best views, so I emailed to ask about one and was upgraded to a apartment rather than a studio free of charge. It is a few more steps but well worth it. The room had everything we needed, coffee maker and air con. Very comfy bed and lovely balconies, yes we had two. The pool area was clean and very quiet which we loved. Room was cleaned three times in our weeks stay and we had parking in the front of the apartments. Close to the beach and bars so you don't have far to walk. Can only but recommend the place for a relaxing time

We visited in early August 2020 as a couple. Due to the Covid outbreak it was quiet but this was fine by us as we got the pool to ourselves on most occasions. The apartment was spotless with everything we needed. It felt traditional too with its high ceilings and shuttered glass doors. The views were breath taking, the sea in front and the gorgeous mountains behind, perfect! We explored extensively on foot to Ipsos and Dassia (which we wouldn't recommend as there were no pavements) but the back road to Spartilas which also has no pavement is a nice walk as hardly any traffic, it is up hill all the way and about 6km through olive groves with amazing views. There's a nice taverna in Spartilas if you make it! If you prefer to explore by moped there is a rental shop across the road. There are plenty of bars and restaurants, very close to the apartments, for those of you self catering and a pebbly beach with clear blue sea. We would definitely like to visit again.

We stayed here in August and were so hopeful for a great holiday after reading such positive reviews. We were disappointed initially by our tired apartment, certainly not one of the ones featured on the website. This was at the front of the complex and faced directly over a very busy noisy road, which affected the lovely view of the sea beyond, and our sleep. However our main frustration was that on dumping our things and racing to the pool, we were greeted by an unfriendly face (not Irini's son who people rave about, he left some time ago). This unfriendliness continued when the children began to enjoy the pool. The rule for these apartments is children must not get in and out of the pool, once they are in they stay in. The children, whose main love is jumping in and climbing out again, were upset, as were we after an afternoon of telling them off for this (we were also told off 3 times, even when they were getting out to come and see us or for something else). So, for the entire rest of our 10 day holiday we went up the hill to a much more welcoming apartment block, where children are free to enjoy themselves. So, this start, coupled with a few unhelpful interactions with the staff made us feel very unwelcome and I would certainly not go back. Barbati was nice, good food and nice beach all in easy reach....

Captain’s apartments are the perfect stay in one of the best locations on the island. The apartments are kept spotless and have amazing views. Everyone working here, it’s a family business, could not be nicer and more helpful. Paul is amazing and so hospitable. Our apartment was at the top. There are a number of steps. As others have mentioned if those poses difficulties for you then this is not for you, otherwise it’s really no big deal. The panoramic view from the pool is just stunning you will not be disappointed. We hired a scooter to explore the island and we couldn’t find anywhere better than Barbati. The beach is large, mostly pebbly with many local restaurants and sun loungers. You can hire a motorboat for the day which means you can explore along the coastline and stop off at a number of small coves and restaurants. Barbati has quite a few restaurants - all excellent. For more lively nightlife Ipsos is a short bus ride away. We had a fantastic time at Captain’sand will definitely return. The beaches and coves on the west side of the island around Palaiokastritsa are beautiful and well worth a visit.

Just had a 5 day escape with my husband and totally fell in love with Corfu here. Captains is in a beautiful location in Barbati .We stayed in a room with spectacular views of the Sea and the mountains. We were made very welcome by Paul on our arrival and we later met Irini the owner who was so lovely and we really felt that she couldn't have done any more for us. Irini gave us a map and shown us places to visit on the island even down to the best place to park in when visiting Corfu old town.
