It was good to be back!!! Yes a few things might look tired but the cab driver said that hotel will go under a renovation 2022/23 winter season so can’t wait to see it in a sparkling g new glory same as 2006 after it opened in 2005! But you know what - who cares that the TV is old and dings and bangs are on wall corners - Staff, THE PEOPLE are truly amazing - from the reception to the beach bar! So much attention - easy attention, always smiling and willing to talk and laugh with you. Thank you Lindian village for re-waking up some old memories and creating new ones! Can’t wait for 2023, promise is a promise, no more 16 years break! Go experience and you will marvel.

We stayed 19-26 June 2022 in a standard double room. Overall we had a great time and the hotel was good. I think after a refurb later this year it has the chance to be excellent! A few caveats that it would have been good to know about, but nothing overall to mar our experience. The Rooms: Our room was spacious and clean, with a big bed, two chairs, and a nice terrace with a view of the sea (we were 1st floor). It was cleaned every day to a good standard, including mopped floors. The air con wasn't freezing, but cold enough to keep the room comfortable for the whole week. We also sometimes didn't get hot water in the mornings (but sometimes did!), so we showered in the afternoon. As above, this didn't ruin anything, but will be helped by a refurb. The Food: A good salad bar at every meal and delicious bread. There were 16 hot dishes at every meal, plus further options from the grill. My wife is mostly vegetarian and found good things to eat every day. I eat everything (and pretty much did!) and was happy with the quality throughout. The white fish was sometimes not great, but balanced by delicious grilled sardines, whitebait and king prawns. There was Greek cuisine available most days, including sheftalia, dolmades and baklava. We also got to eat at the two a la carte restaurants. The fish one was OK, the Greek one was brilliant. Worth noting though, that "set menu" means "no choices"- they just bring you the food that they are serving that night. We had to tell them when we got there that my wife was pescetarian, otherwise they would have just brought all the same dishes. So check your options before you and give them advance warning if you can. The Bar: Beer, wine and soft drinks are all on draught. The beer was a good, light holiday lager, perfect for sipping by the pool. The wine was OK, in spite of being on tap! You could buy bottled wine, which we tried and was really good. The cocktails were a bit sweet for me- mostly just poured from a pre-mix bottle with a bit of fresh mint and sugar added. Nice enough though with plenty of ice by the pool. We never queued for more than 10 mins, and most of the time there was no queue at the bar at all. There was never a queue for the beer/wine/soft drink taps. The Beach: It's a stony beach, so bring sturdy flip flops or (Better still) reef shoes that you can wear in the water. The sea is incredible- so calm and absolutely crystal clear. I snorkelled out to a depth of about 10m and could still see individual grains of sand on the bottom. On that note, bring a snorkel and mask! There is a LOT to see, just around the hotel. There is a patch of rocks nearby which provided excellent views of all sorts of things (see photos), and because there is no swell it's nice and easy. It's also at the end of a strip, so you don't get strangers walking through the beach, only hotel guests. There is also a sandy beach 5 mins walk round the corner. You have to pay for the sunbeds, but it's a great place for kids as the gradient into the sea is much more gradual, and the sand is lovely. Nice to have an option. If you wanted the fancy four-poster sunbeds then you had to get there in the morning (pre-10:00, not crack-of-dawn), but there were always spare beds somewhere, both by the beach and pool. The fancier ones were super-comfy and worth trying for! The Gym and Spa: We didn't go in the spa because the general facilities (sauna etc) are closed, so you can only go in for treatments. It looked nice though. The gym didn't have many facilities (a couple of weight machines and a treadmill), and was quite busy when we went at 7:15 so went for a run instead. If you're a gym fan you could probably manage (and they do Yoga and HIIT classes too), but this wasn't the best bit of the resort. The Staff: All very pleasant and helpful. If they were under-staffed we didn't notice, everyone did a great job. Overall: A great place to stay. It's right next to a bus stop, which makes getting around easy. There are plenty of good options for lounging around the hotel between the pool, two beaches and rocks, and all your needs are well provided for. Another great thing is that the hotel never felt too busy- possibly because the people who had private pools stayed in sometimes? We barely had to queue at the bar, were always able to find tables for meals, sun loungers etc and never felt crowded. I hope after the refurb they maintain this spirit and don't try to cram more people in, because it does make it feel more like a premium experience. Would we go back? Yes.

Please be aware that this hotel opened under new management on 1st May 2022 Reviews before that date were for the privous management and do not reflect its current situation. Below is a letter reviewing our stay sent to the hotel We thought the pool areas and the grounds were beautiful and deserving of 5 star rating. The feeling of being in a traditional Greek village is very appealing. Your staff are very helpful and friendly, although it is obvious that many are still receiving on the job training having been in post for a few weeks. We would particularly like to mention Sergio, Andrew, Sergio, Panagiotis and the young woman who looked after us in the speciality restaurants. The main problem we have is that the photos and wording on yours and Kuoni’s websites raised our expectations of 5 star Michelin style dining. The experience you delivered, especially in the main dining room and the pool area more like 3 star motorway service station. I suggest it would be an enlightening experience for you and the decision makers in your company to take the photos and text from your website, make a tour of the hotel, sample the food and compare the fantasy with reality. There are no tables set for fine dining around the pool area with linen table cloths. There is no lobster, sizzling prawns or freshly make hand crafted pizzas. The speciality restaurants which do serve much better food are not as described in your website “al la carte” as there is only a fixed menu which is the same every day with no choice. For guests staying for a week they have little choice for 26 meals other than the main dining area or “snacks” round the pool. The nearest cafe/ restaurant is 25 minutes walk away down a dusty main road with no pavements which would be difficult and dangerous in the dark. Lindos town is half an hour by taxi (not 10 minutes as stated in the Kuoni website. We spoke to a family of eight who had come to celibate a 50th birthday. They spent over €3000 on taxis and to eat out in Lindos. In the main dining area the food is self served from dishes on a long ban Marie. The food is never very hot usually lukewarm sometimes cold. At breakfast the eggs and bacon are not fried but cooked in hot oil. They are then presented in dishes still swimming in the oil which when put together with lukewarm beans and cold baked potatoes is not at all appetising. The scrambled eggs looked ok but had a texture of crumbs and didn’t taste as they should I wondered if they were made from powdered eggs. At the lunch time and evening meals there was a good variety of salads and fruit but the “hot” meals were poor. There were a lot of cheap cheap dishes such as pasta shepherds pie, chips and burgers. They were never really hot, mainly lukewarm or cold. There were no roasts of beef lamb or pork being calved for you, no hand made pizzas cooked in a pizza oven, no sizzling prawns or lobster. On several occasions I saw the staff bring fresh dishes of food then scrape the remains of a dish that had been picked over and gone cold on top of the fresh the food. A practice that was not only off putting but could have hygiene implications. The snack food at the pool area was so cheaply presented and looked so unappealing that I never tried it. The barbecue which we went to was the worst I have ever been to. There was some cheap burger meat cooked over two small grills, the rest of the food being brought from the kitchens and again was very unappealing. It seems obvious that you are trying to cut costs on the food. You cannot produce the meals described in your website with cheap ingredients and without a top quality chef. Our room had been refurbished and was ok (we know that some haven’t). The room service was hit and miss. On two occasions the room was not cleaned, once the bed made and nothing else, remains from room service and dirty cups left. There is no fold down service as promised. For two days we had no hot water and were told by reception this is not unusual. It was obvious that you have a lot of new staff receiving on the job training and they probably do not grasp the standard that is required for 5 star rating. The main thing that we found really annoying was that we’re only told that the hotel had reopened under new ownership after we arrived. We booked this holiday with Kuoni in January based on the information on both websites and the reviews on trip advisor which were for the previous owners. Those reviews and the ratings cannot possibly be relied on and should have been removed or an explanation given. We were badly misinformed. We understand the pressure involved n starting a new business having done it ourselves, but misinforming your customers by promising a lot and delivering a little will not lead to success.

Let me begin by saying that Lindian village itself is lovely, the grounds are beautiful with colourful bougainvillea and a man made stream running through hit. Reception is airy, and once booked in, we had a porter with a golf buggy transport us to our suite, which was spacious and comfortable. Air conditioning was in the lounge area and in the bedroom. The bed was comfortable, although the duvet didn’t reach both sides of the bed and the duvet cover had a hole in it. However, closer inspection of our accommodation led to a number of other small issues. There weren’t any instructions to indicate how to use the air conditioning or the in-room safe. Our balcony should have had 2 sun loungers - according to the promotional literature - but had 2 broken plastic wicker chairs. The hot tub had a scum on the top of the water. Didn’t look very appealing at all. Room service was non existent on 2 days out of our 7day spell. Towels when replaced were either short in number, had dirty marks on, or had holes and repairs. The tea and coffee weren’t replenished, and we didn’t have any glasses for several days. After several complaints were made to reception, and emails to the Reservations Manager, most issues were resolved by the day before we left. The main restaurant was buffet style for all meals. It was clean, and the food was of good quality with plenty of options. I found a lovely waiter who informed me at most meals what my options were regarding Gluten Free. Here I must complement the young lady who made my fresh omelette every morning, they were delicious. We ate at 2 of the speciality restaurants - Fish and Greek - both of which offer a set menu. The fish one was ok, but the Greek was delicious, only spoilt when they offered me baklava for dessert! No way I could eat that, as not GF. The pool area was big, with plenty of loungers available. The beach was a disappointment though. It was very stony, with both large stones and shingle. Very difficult to walk on in bare feet. Getting into the sea was tricky, and even harder to get out of. We saw many swimmers getting out on their hands and knees. However, there were plenty of sun beds both on the beach, and under cover of some trees. Overall, I feel that this is a resort that needs a few more staff, as well as sorting out the maintenance problems in order to bring it back up to its 5 star rating.

We’ve just had a week staying at Lindian village on an all inclusive basis. Overall we absolutely loved it, it’s a beautiful resort, the staff were so attentive and a good laugh, the pool and beach areas are lovely, so clean and we always managed to get a sun lounger even in the afternoon - no need to reserve them with towels at the crack of dawn! The food was a great standard, the buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner was exactly what you’d expect at a resort like this, tasty and plenty of options. The lunch at the pool bar was always very tasty with burgers, pizza and salads etc. We got 2 nights to eat at one of the a la carte restaurants as part of the all inclusive, we went to seafood and Italian and they were both gorgeous, such lovely food and a 5* service from staff. The all inclusive here is excellent value, you can literally drink any cocktail you can think of or spirit mixer as well as the house wine, Prosecco and beer. Our only let down was our room - we just had a standard double and this was no where near 5*. Very basic and outdated in appearance which is fine but initially the air con was leaking so we had 2 days with a giant puddle on the floor as well as the shower water being dark brown and cold. We complained and they had maintenance out to fix both of these which failed so we repeated this process until it was fixed successfully. The staff were very friendly and helpful though and once the problems were fixed we had no more issues! Would absolutely recommend Lindian village to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday by the sea, just maybe splurge out for a better room if you can!

We booked through Secret Escapes and had a room with a hot tub very near reception. On the second day we were upgraded FOC to a suite with its own pool close to the restaurant. Grounds are fantastic, the room was lovely. Staff all very friendly and happy to help. The food in the all inclusive buffet was quite 'samey', but we really enjoyed the italian and greek restaurants.

After reading some of these reviews it had me really worried. Arrived yesterday. Honestly, this place is beautiful. The food is fabulous. Loads of choice, roast pork freshly carved last night, and no sign of running out. Delicious cocktails, only had to queue once. Its not Carribean 5*, but its easily a good 4*. I don't have masses of experience with 5* in Europe, but we are so happy. Staff are just gorgeous and the pool is lush. Think people must come expecting Carribean 5*. I just cannot see how anyone could say its 3*. I've been 3* and it was not like this. Do not worry. You will have an amazing time!

We enjoyed our early June holiday in Lindian Village! The hotel is built as a village with traditional Greek style white houses. Our accommodation was the riverside villa with own pool. Really nice, quiet and clean rooms and areas. We enjoyed the sunny days in our own pool, also at the larger shared pool area and the seaside. You can walk over the small hill to next beach with white sand. Staff was very nice and helpful. We had dinner at all theme restaurants. Recommend to explore Lindos and Rhodes town during the visit. Easy access to towns by buss or taxi. I gladly recommend Lindian Village to families travelling in Rhodes!

This was a one off holiday for my 50th to the 5 star Lindian Village, Lardos. We soon saw that this is anything but a 5 star resort. We had a River Passage with private pool. The pool was disgusting just so old and the jets didn't work. The food is definitely not 5 star, more like a 1 star. You have to go as soon as the restaurant opens to ensure that you get hot food, otherwise it’s lukewarm and with very little variety throughout our stay. there is approximately 12 hot dishes of slop to choose from, most of the time we ate cheese and bread. We tried to book the Italian restaurant as soon as we arrived and it was full for the duration of our holiday. All in all, it was huge £5,000 disappointment. We can honestly say that we shall never return nor recommend Lindian Village to anyone. Fawlty Towers would have been better.

Dear A7729FTsharonb, We do thank you for taking time for your review, even we regret to hear your experience was not what you expected. We do wish you would have mentioned to us the difficulties with operating the jets in your private pool, our maintenance staff would have showed you how they work. It is also worth to mention that in our main restaurant we do serve 22 different hot dishes, a wide selection of starters and salads as well as plenty of choices for desserts. The buffet has been also changed into a new one and the food remains hot throughout the meals. The hotel features three different themed restaurants this year and so far we did not have any other complaints from the guests that they could not find availability in any of them. Also this kind of matters our staff is there always to assist. We sincerely do hope you will visit us again in the future, for example next year, when the hotel and all its' facilities will be fully renovated, to show you that we can do better. Wishing you a lovely summer time! Kind regards, Saara Diasinou Reservations Manager Lindian Village
