We travelled as a family of 5 adults after seeing the hotel on the TUI website and what struck me the most was it was even better than the photos! The flight and transfers we fantastic, especially the ferry transfer from Kavala. We were greeted at check in and it was effortless. The check in staff were extremely courteous and respectful and they greeted me with a smile every day. The young lady at the breakfast buffet always brought me a coffee and when I couldn't decide what to have, she suggested I try a Greek yoghurt with locally sourced honey. Highly recommended. The rooms were beautiful and clean, and the beds were super comfortable. I have sleep issues but here, I slept soundly! never had any issues with noise either, even though my room overlooked the courtyard and the town centre. The location is excellent. Plenty of bars and restaurants within a 5-minute walk. I spent a lot of time at the Remezzo cafe bar, just a couple of minutes walk and it was perfect to sit with a cold beer and watch the sunset. The food was rather nice too. Im a fussy eater, but I always found something to eat. All in all, this hotel was absolutely spot on. We usually holiday in Cuba, but because there are travel issues, we decided to try this hotel and to be honest, its the best one we've stayed in in years. Im hoping to return with family in July 2023. My partner and I and her sister and her boyfriend are getting married in July in a double wedding, and A for Art is perfect as a honeymoon hotel. Highly recommended.…
We stayed as a family group of 7 at this gem of a hotel in August for 14 nights. Ages 62yrs-7yrs. The staff were exceptionally good and elevate the experience to being special and memorable. truly superb staff. The outside courtyard and restaurant area is wonderfully atmospheric and a great place to linger day or night. The central location is perfect for all Thassos has to offer. It is a splendid oasis just off the main street. Thassos Old Town (Limenas) is lovely. The breakfasts are fabulous, plentiful and fresh. Cocktails were perfect every single time. Gastronomy menu was a delicious highlight. The rooms are cleaned daily and fresh towels supplied daily. Such a treat. The pool was a big hit with our two granddaughters too. The evening entertainment was memorable, professional and a gloriously often Greek themed highlight. So was it all perfect - well I guess it depends on your perspective really. We were initially concerned that our room on the first floor overlooking the courtyard was too small and very dark. No where for suitcases to be stowed away for example. But there was a great dressing table and long mirror - often missing in hotel rooms! The room was very clean. Our room was directly above where the very, very loud outside brilliant musical entertainment was being held almost nightly and you couldn’t possibly sleep through it - so we just stayed in the courtyard and drank fab cocktails and enjoyed the performances instead until around midnight - problem solved! We adored it. The size of the room didn't seem to matter to us after the first day either - strange that! The pool area definitely needs some upgrading. The decking is past its best and several poolside tiles are broken/cracked. It is a small area and accommodates no more than 10 or so persons on sunbeds. However guests at the hotel seem to prefer going to the beach or out sightseeing rather than sitting by the hotel pool . Again we noticed these things but everything else was so fabulous we sort of didn’t mind enough for it to be an issue. This hotel is not a typical TUI holiday complex hotel. It is not a full on child friendly place - it has an adult vibe to it but our 2 granddaughters (10 & 7yrs) loved it. Sometimes it felt that the focus of the hotel is more on its general public clientele coming in for the restaurant and music entertainment. There were occasions when it was tricky to find outside seating because of events the hotel was hosting that were fully attended by non-staying guests. However the staff/managers always made sure we were accommodated and even gave us 20% off a gastronomy meal and a bottle of wine when they very sensitively and tactfully asked us to give up our soft seats to accommodate non-guests who had purchased tickets for the music evening being held. Initially we were a bit ‘put-out’ but the manager Georgios was so charming about it we felt happy to help them out. We were glad we did as it was very much appreciated by the staff. As we were there for 14 days we had time to work out/understand how the hotel operated especially regarding making reservations as hotel guests for drinks tables in advance on busy music events nights. Short stay guests might not get this chance to work it out and it can lead to misunderstanding we thought as the priority is not always automatically given to staying guests as you might expect. Also the waiting staff are allocated their own ‘zones’ to serve. We realised that we just needed to sit back and wait and soak up the atmosphere - you can’t hurry the service process or circumvent it by going to the bar yourself. They get to you and it’s worth a little wait as they are so busy and hard working. Once they know you they then anticipate your every need. So friendly and warm. None of these tiny ‘niggles’ spoilt our time here at this wonderful hotel in any way. Yes you can hear running water/loo flushes from rooms above - if you listen for it. It didn’t bother us at all however. There are so many wonderful positives about this hotel they far, far outweigh the tiny niggles. Stay here, sit back, enjoy and relax!…
Very clean rooms and bathrooms, with very nice and unique modern decoration. The manager polite and always ready to make you feel comfortable. The personel gentle, with posidive attitude, very good communication and ready to facilitate for comfort.
The transfers were very straight forward. The hotel location is great, close to restaurants and bars but still quiet. The hotel staff are great, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are lovely. There is a great selection of food for dinner and breakfast. We will definitely come back.
Really loved this hotel and the amazing people who worked here! The food both breakfast and dinner was so good and fresh! Clean and beautiful everywhere! A happy holiday and hopefully I can visit again
We have just returned from this lovely hotel based in Thassos town it is a stunning looking building situated at the end of the Main Street Staff lovely and friendly Daily room service and Moulton and Brown complimentary toiletries Plenty of choice for breakfast Ideal base Would recommend
Stayed for a week in Sept 22, had a spacious well equipped front facing room, great breakfast buffet choice + personal service of barista style coffees and fresh juice with a smile. All hotel staff were very attentive. Hotel decor has obviously been considered and therefore quirky and unique. Hotel appealed and provided for many nationalities. Central location perfect for the town, choice of beaches, shops and food
We had the pleasure of staying in A for Art design Hotel for 5 days. The hotel has a truly unique atmosphere and design, the rooms are spacious and everything from the mattress to the toiletries has been chosen with the greatest care. But the strongest point of all is its personnel. It has been years since I have met such a good team of professionals who have turned hospitality to art. Thank you all for a memorable stay! We'll be back
What a great place to stay - probably the best place I have stayed in Greece. The accommodation itself was quirky, stylish and immaculate. The staff were amazing, they were friendly, helpful and accommodating. Sotiria was most attentive and helpful and helped us book a car, sorted our car parking and even walked us to the parking to show us where it was. The breakfast staff made us feel valued and welcome and the breakfast itself was great. There was a large selection to cater for everyone, it was fresh, home made and well stocked. The waiting staff were also great, they were friendly yet professional and most attentive. The hotel was centrally located with a beautiful courtyard where you could just sit and relax or have a meal or a drink. If I go back to Thasos, I will definitely stay at this hotel!…
The hotel is super nice, the staff is very nice and the design is superb. Sadly the restaurant of the hotel is best described as arrogant- they try to play at a level which they are simply not delivering. No idea of contrast, they rape macceroni noodles and call it carbonara. Order, taste and you will see yourself- or you go to an authentic place (though the live music is “formidable”). At our checkout of the hotel we were even tricked very badly. Sorry - just go somewhere else and maybe people are honest!
