The building was erected in the early 20th century (1907) as a tobacco warehouse and today it is characterized as a "work of art" by the Ephorate of contemporary and Modern Monuments. In cooperation with the famous European company KARE Design we created a non-conformist original style art & design hotel. Our aim was to harmonically combine the traditional with the modern, keeping the exterior facade of the building unchanged and enriching the interior with contemporary artwork and furnishings creating a warm, modern, friendly environment for pleasant stay. Its unique location, near the old port of Limenas with the traditional fishing boats, next to the major archeological points like the ancient Agora, the ancient theater and museum where customers can tour and admire the past of this place.

My stay in the hotel was fantastic. Both the quality of services provided and the decor were stellar. The best thing there is the food; breakfast is plentiful and of a huge variety using quality products and the dinner provided was tasty and of the highest quality too. Lovely hotel, I would definitely recommended without a second thought!

W for Wonderful. ALL the staff were wonderful - always there and ready to help, (without any intrusion). The hotel facilities, our room and bathroom, reception, bar, communal areas, garden and pool were pristine, as if it were the first week of the season - (we visited at the end of the season 2023). Breakfast and evening drinks in the garden were delightful. P for Perfect. The location of the hotel is perfect - close to beaches, restaurants, the bus station and ferries (with no noise issues). M for Magic - we had a personal occasion whilst there and the staff made our day extra special. Quite simply, on all points, the best hotel we have ever stayed in. Mark and Gwyn - Room 301.

This hotel has the style and ambiance you would expect from such as a Spanish Parador. Here the quality and friendliness are incredibly entrenched though, making for a very laidback holiday. The staff were efficient and chirpy. Price was reasonable and breakfast superb

My husband and I stayed for a week at this wonderful hotel which has a great central location, near the harbour, restaurants and shops. Our room had a lovely comfy bed, air con and everything you needed and as with the whole hotel, was full of quirky art and very tastefully done. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice and very fresh and the staff at breakfast were excellent, especially the lady who looked after the area. The outside courtyard and restaurant area is beautiful, with a lovely relaxed atmosphere and excellent drinks/cocktails. We only had dinner one night and it was superb. What made our stay so special was the exceptionally friendly and hard-working staff. A very big thank you to you all. We would definitely like to return.

This hotel was a delight from start to finish of our holiday, the boutique styling is a joy and very much my cup of tea. The room was stunning and so comfortable, the best weeks sleep in ages. We opted for the half board option with the idea we could go out if it wasn’t too good but we stayed for dinner every evening, the food was excellent, the service superb and the atmosphere in the courtyard dining area truly magical. Thasos town was very busy but the courtyard gave a really tranquil place to eat and chill during the evening. We will be back, thank you for an amazing week.

Just back from a two week stay at A for Art and it was an absolute oasis. Booked through Tui which was unusual and it didn’t seem like the usual type of hotel they offer. That’s a compliment btw. I will be totally honest. It was our first time in Thassos and the island was not for us. Not pretty, beaches were not the best, full of cigarette stubs and rubble…so to have the gorgeous hotel to go back to, saved us. All the staff are amazing as is the bar and our super suite 306 with a sea view. Breakfast was plentiful and music nights were great. The only small downside which didn’t affect us much was the noise. Unless you can sleep though anything it was pretty noisy until 1130 ish. Only the first night when we had been up at 3am did we want to go to bed early, was it an issue as the music didn’t stop until midnight and our room was on the front.😴 And a packing point. I didn’t bring my hairdryer as is advised in all the blurb that every room had one as you would expect in a higher end hotel Hairdryer but it was fixed to the bathroom wall, as I have long thick hair it took half an hour standing I a hot room. Note to self..always bring my own. Thank you all for a great holiday

We stayed in this hotel for three nights in early September. It has 39 rooms situated in a single building just back from the sea front of Limenas. It is an historic building over four floors. There is a lift. There is no airport on Thasos and access is gained either from Kavala or from Keramoti by ferry. The ferries from Keramoti are more frequent than Kavala and Keramoti is easily reached with a 35 minute taxi ride costing €50 from Kavala Town - although it is said there is a bus we never found it. From the Thasos Port to the hotel is a 10 minute walk with luggage. There are taxis at the Port but they may be reluctant to do such a short journey. The hotel has parking via reserved spaces on the sea front public car park. Otherwise parking is at a premium. The hotel fronts a small road but between it and that road is an enclosed courtyard area used for dining and lounging – there is a small pool to one side of the hotel but we did not use this. Upon entering the hotel there is a small bar area and a good-sized breakfast/dining room. On the other side of the entrance is a reception desk and a soft seating area. You cannot sit at the bar, only around it (or outside). Bar and dining service is facilitated in the courtyard. Breakfast is a generous spread with a number of Greek items and standard, substantial European-style hot food. With the availability of outside space the inside area is never particularly crowded. Breakfast is a buffet with a coffee machine, although specialist coffees can be ordered. There is an efficient toaster. We breakfasted early and had to order water and orange juice. This was sometimes a bit slow. The supervision of the breakfast room was beyond reproach, which for vegetarians is a major plus point – no sharing of tongs!! The hotel does provide lunch and dinner, but we did not take dinner. There are numerous restaurants and bars within five minutes stroll. Rooms are perfectly clean if somewhat dated. The desire to present art was – in our room – a little self-defeating because it took up room and reduced practicability. The air-conditioning was effective and whilst we did not have one we imagine that the rooms on the front of the hotel – on the second and third floors – would have splendid sea views. There is a safe and a fridge. Linen was good quality. The bathroom was small but adequate with a walk-in shower. Toiletries were Moulton Brown. Housekeeping was good. Disappointingly, there was cross-room noise and the layout of the rooms around a central stairwell allows noise to rise up. When the hotel provides live entertainment (which we understand to be two nights a week) there is also external noise. We used ear-plugs. Wi-fi was acceptable. The staff were excellent, the majority with good English. There was an active managerial presence on site at all times as far as we could see. We saw no particular facilities for people with restricted mobility but the hotel is so well organised we have no doubt it would be no problem. The hotel is available through UK and European holiday companies but we booked direct without any difficulty. The hotel has a large number of pieces of art randomly spread. This is modern art and very quirky. It provided us with a very comfortable stay albeit at a cost that was toward the top end for this quality of hotel. We would thoroughly recommend the hotel noting that it deserves all its accolades. We noticed several guests who were quite clearly annual visitors.

My wife and I stayed for a week and could not have wished for a better experience. The staff especially were great. They were so hardworking. Breakfast was very good and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast area was kept spotless. Our room was quite " quirky" as was the whole hotel but we thought it was very well thought out. A special thanks to the cleaner of our room, 210, who kept it spotless. Sorry I didn't get her name but she's a gem.
