Firstly 2 adults and 3 kids it was perfect. Due to the poor reviews I reckon it’s quiet for that reason but that was perfect for us. It meant the kids could play on the slides, in the pool and us not worry about the busyness of the place. The reviews discussing the food are not wrong, however it isn’t inedible and needs some work. The lift isn’t working for the beach but there isn’t that many steps and we managed it with two 5 years and a 2 year old, without any moans. The beach is absolutely beautiful and quiet too. Philippa the barman at the lower pool daily was so kind to our children, Angela the lifeguard made friends with the kids making sure they were ok daily. I have to say it’s so sad to see that this place was probably once thriving yet now that seems not to be the case, we have had a lovely holiday and would recommend it to anyone.
There is a few lovely restaurants less than a 1km walk away from the hotel one called Mai’s where we ate which was lovely and Camillos Italian which was INSANE!! Τρανακας Bakery has the BEST coffee and cakes.
Highly recommend hiring a car to Gerakas beach to go early to see the turtles hatching and making their way to the water it’s about 15 minute drive away.
If you’re looking for a 4/5 star hotel it’s not that however it’s perfect for a family holiday with the kids.

Zante Royal is my favourite romantic vacation place, I’ve been there for the 4th time in a row! :) Do not listen to those claiming everything but appreciate instead wonderful location on the cliff, amazing views, very cosy and nice beach, nature, plants, flowers… If you are not spoiled and demanding too much you will enjoy the quite good food, enough space and clean rooms (it is true that bathrooms need renovation, but so what?), fantastic Greek Night (on Sundays) and live music (on Wednesdays) and so romantic surroundings with plenty of rosemary bushes, bugenvillas, cicadas and the refreshing Mediterranean wind… And the Staff – very friendly, smiling and helpful – cheers especially to Anca, our catwoman serving the guests in the daily bar! :) 2 other Barmans, Filipos (crazy one!) and Telis are positive and funny as well, you will enjoy their service for sure! All the Staff in the Hotel, Reception, hotel shop and cleaning ladies included is nice and helpful, so you feel a bit like home. Very nice and calm place with good atmosphere for mental reset, not affected by commercialization known from Turkey or Egypt. If you need the luxury go to Turkey/Egypt/Dubai, if not – go to Zante then. Highly recommend this unique place!

The furnishings of the rooms are dated. It looks as if nothing has changed since the new construction. Definitely not worth 4 stars. The whole thing gives the impression that minimal investment is being made due to a lack of money. We had only booked breakfast and that was already very mediocre. Other full board guests understand that the lunches and dinners are no better. Without a car, the hotel is isolated, and you have to make a full board booking, and therefore have to live with the mediocre buffet offering. The same every day, no variations. The common areas and swimming pools are reasonable. The private beach is too small, too few moorings for the size of the hotel, and here too there is a lack of maintenance. Broken sun loungers and parasols. Most of the beach is occupied by an expensive beach club. Sunbeds, per set of 2 beds and 1 parasol, between €30 and €60 per day. At other locations, from €12 to Max. Asking €30 per set

Avoid at all costs this is the worst place I have stayed, the rooms are disgusting, the food is inedible, half of the advertised facilities aren’t even available, worst holiday I have ever been on. Air con doesn’t work properly in rooms and there is no aircon in main building at all. There is no lifeguard on main pool at all, the entertainment is none existent. My daughter cut her foot open in the pool and there was no first aid kit at pool bar or main reception, I was given electrical tape at pool bar to bandage with napkins from the bar, the main reception gave me out of date random bottle of stuff and a plaster, there is no first aider or incident forms. I’m surprised the place is still open, absolute disgrace

The hotel, in one word, a big disappointment, I would rate the hotel services at two and a half stars. So far the worst hotel we visited in Greece. The best of the hotel has really been behind it for a long time, half of the hotel is already shut down and just decaying. The services are absolutely not worth the price for which we bought the tour
The staff is old, not always willing, there are very few of them, the gastronomy and food are still repetitive, very little choice, the whole week basically the same, the level of a boarding house. At lunch and dinner, usually 3 out of 6 drinks flow. Sometimes it's really hard to get water at the bar, bottled water is out of the question. All gradually falling apart. The children's playground was devastated in a week, no one came to fix the plastic climbing frames in a week, to put it simply, every day there were broken ones, children's chairs and tables were scattered on the playground for the entire stay. The price for an adult from CK Blue Style CZK 23,990 is absolutely not appropriate, our worst experience so far. Basically, it's a secluded hotel, if you don't rent a car, it's impossible to experience anything here. The beach near the hotel is beautiful, but part of the beach is a rather loud bar. About 200 steps lead to the beach, but the lift to the beach does not work, there is no hotel bar by the beach. It is not possible for elderly people to get to this beach. Deck chairs are free on the beach, but access is very difficult. We rented a car for a whole week, the nature of Zakynthos compensated for this hotel experience. The views and places on Zakythos are beautiful. However, the hotel is in a very remote location and as a point for traveling everywhere quite far. I recommend choosing a different area. 30 km here on the island is like 100 km here in the Czech Republic.

Stayed here as a family of 5 for 10 nights - after reading reviews we were very nervous to come here. But we had a lovely holiday. The pools are clean, rooms are cleaned everyday with fresh sheets and towels. The rooms are out dated but they are okay.. beds are not the most comfortable but they are clean. Drinks aren’t bad for all inclusive- many options available. The all inclusive food buffet isn’t great. We managed to eat about 5 meals the duration of being here for 10 nights. And that included breakfast and lunch! There is always salads, fruit, fries, pasta and some sort of meat or fish available but the quality isn’t amazing. There is a restaurant 10 minute walk away called ‘mais’ which is absolutely great food and price..saved our holiday!!! Would also recommend to hire a car as it’s out of the way from most places and the roads aren’t the best for walking. The beach here is beautiful..which the stairs are manageable! I personally wouldn’t come back here again, but we paid the holiday so made it what we could. Wish I had read the reviews before booking and maybe I’d have not come here. But as I said the hotel isn’t the worst but also is not a 4 star, I would rate it more as a 2 or 3 star hotel. It’s a shame as maybe this was once a thriving hotel, but it’s very quiet now.

The Hotel area is really huge, full of beautiful plants, flowers, pinia trees, cats everywhere, chickens….and all this nature makes it unique and not similar to other big and expensive hotels. And all those cicadas music directly from trees all the time! This is really unique and not common for the other big sophisticated hotels where you have just the grass and flowers, but no the little wild Greek nature. The staff of the Hotel is so friendly, helpful and nice that you feel comfortable all the time! Just ask for anything and they will try to make your wish live There is so cool atmosphere, so relaxing environment that you will feel home from the very first minute! Yes, this is true that rooms are not luxury but comfortable anyway, clean and big enough for everyone. Just the bathroom needs some modernization but I believe this is the question of nearest time and covid end. Regarding the food I cannot find the words to say how fantastic and proffessional the cook must be! The food was really Greek, delicious, tasty, full of spices, variety of choose so that you can feel being in Greece for sure. Just forget about the European food, just taste the Greek one! As to the other facilities and all those stuff the tourists need like water pools, sunbeds etc. is fully enough and OK. There are 2 swimming pools suitable both for adults and children, very clean, comfortable and looking amazing being highlighted colorful in the night! The beach closest to the Hotel, down the hill is small, empty and nice if you don’t look for the beach service – no sunbeds, no bar due to covid crisis. But if you look for relaxing and almost wild place just go for it. There are some other beaches walking distance from the Hotel, just 30 minutes walk and you are on the Gerakas Beach with Caretta Caretta turtles nests or Banana Beach with all the services available. Just to sum up – the Hotel and all its staff is really great and worth to spend your holiday there! If the surroundings is more important for you than the luxury interior, it will be the good choice for you. Just believe, visit and enjoy!

The food was very bad, in the room you dont have wifi, conditioner doesn't work, only the beach was great. The cocktails or the juices are the cheapest and the quality is low. This hotel doesn't justify tje price so in my opinion only the beach was great and the sea.

Hotel is deprived, needs reparations. Services currently it aren't 4 * category but 2-3* in fact. Beach is nice, clean located down from hotel but lift and funicular are out of order, but it isn't a big problem. Food: poor quality, often made from industry prepared materials, breakfast mixed eggd weren't eateble, low variaty of vegetables, no fruit except water melone, grapefruit and orange. The staff doesn't never suplied food in time, moving very slowly, nevere smile, every time is lack of something. Selfserviced soft drink bar at hotel restaurant: you get water instead of juice often. When you looking for a table, you have to clean the table yourselve. Evening bar: 16-20 people is waiting for drinks in a queue mostly . Hotel alcohol drinks have quality similar to Egyptian drinks. Great thanks to Mr.Philippos at pool bar - the only person at hotel who he has been working properly, fast and friendly.

We visited Zante Royal resort in the end of June. Weather was perfect and sea was magicly clean. Vasilikos and Zakynhtos by itself was realy beautiful. BUT.. this hotel it´s not magical at all. I belive that it was.. but know it´s just a classic hotel with so many mistakes. We were lucky and get the “renovated” room with the pool under our balcony. Sounds nice, right? But unfortunately our “pool” was never filled up with the water. Room was clean and ok. But only for the first days. But as time went on they didnt even make our beds or clean the bathroom. And the worst part was that they even did NOT gave a toilet paper in our room. Food.. nothing special. All the same all the time. Deserts actualy didnt even exist. Because it was just cookies with the puding. Just changing color of the puding. Staff in the restaurant was very sloow and very “unfriendly”. We had all inclusive and even thow they yell at you when you fill bottle with the water. Yes you do not need the bottle if you have all inclusive close to the beach. But beach was around 119 stairs away from you. You need water in 35 celsius to make it up and down and stay alive. No wifi in the room, no fun.. only one Greek evening.. that was perfect. One and only good part of this hotel was people in the pool bar. Very friendly and very nice always with the smile on the face. All hotel parts needs lot of repairs.. not only the building.

It’s the softest sand I’ve ever felt ! Also the sea gets deep very slowly, it’s ideal for small children and the water in late august was some 28 C ... in the evening it was the hottest and it was almost shower-like temperature.
Hello. We had transfer from the airport to the hotel with the bus, it took about one hour to get there with all the extra stops (other tourists, other hotels). Taxi is more comfortable, but it will cost you about 50 euro. It's up to you.
There are more places to choose from in the Vasilikos area.
