Our room 204 was really spacious and had fabulous sea views. From the pool we had to climb 57 step up to our room but there is a slow ramp up to the first level for easier access. Our cases were carried up to the room so access wasn't a problem for us. At breakfast there was a wide selection of both hot and cold food include a great variety of fresh fruit. The staff were amazing especially as its a new team this year after the past two years of Covid. Maria is the front house team leader and is shaping/moulding her young team to her high expectations. A big thankyou to all the team for making our holiday great. We arrived on my wife's birthday and were welcomed with a birthday cake which was soooooo nice and a very pleasant surprise. I also had arranged for a bottle of bubbles and flowers to be in the room on arrival so a big thankyou to Alex the managers. On our last full day Maria also gave a Baklarva sweet and icecream to say goodbye. We'll definitely be returning.…
Spent a lovely week in Skiathos at this lovely hotel. When we arrived we carried our cases up the stairs to reception but no one was about. However once someone appeared we were greeted very well and were offered a nice welcome drink at the bar which was made by Alex the hotel manager. I must say the staff are great here and a special mention goes to Maria who was always happy and very helpful. The pool area was lovely and as the hotel had just opened it wasn't busy and there was always a sun bed available. Towels were provided which was a nice touch. The room was a suite with a big balcony over looking the sea with a lovely view of the town which is about 10-15 mins walk away. There were 114 steps up to our room and although fine for us, this hotel would not be suitable for older guests. Our room very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. It was a little hit and miss if we got our tea and coffee replenished and on a couple of occasions we only had one towel between the 2 of us and no toilet roll left on one occasion. On 2 occasions a cleaning rag was left in the bathroom. The biggest area for improvement however would be the breakfast service. Sometimes you waited quite a while to be asked if you wanted tea and coffee and for the order to be taken, On other days this was done quickly but then we were given the wrong order or someone else's order. The toaster didn't really work and they had to change the coffee machine during that week also. Not sure why all these things were not tested the week before the hotel opened? In summary - this is a great little hotel in a good location but the breakfast service just needed to be organised a lot better which I am sure will improve as the season goes on.…
We stayed at Aegean Suites from 13th to 23rd May, just one week after the hotel opened for the season. Our suite was 206, it was very spacious, comfortable furnishings and well presented with a good sized balcony offering stunning sea views. The balcony furniture, two chairs & a table were modern in design and unfortunately we did not find the chairs particularly comfortable. The hotel was experiencing some staffing issues and did not have full operational team, but they were addressing the issue and we could see vast improvements being made. Maria, the Restaurant Supervisor was extremely professional, most efficient and although under a great deal of pressure she always took time to make sure all the guests feel special and nothing was too much for her in ensuring this happened. An absolute STAR. Alex, the Manager also worked tirelessly to look after all his guests and we found him to be very helpful and again extremely attentive to his guests needs. Full marks to housekeeping, maintenance and gardening staff on a job well done. We booked to stay at Aegean knowing full well the steep aspect and layout of the suites having read previous reviews and checked various website photos (and it didn't disappoint). No complaints from us even though we did find our climb quite challenging (102 steps from our suite to pool level), but it didn't spoil our holiday and stay. Suggest you do your homework. We had previously read reviews that it was a 15/20 minute walk into Skiathos town, it did take us longer. We found all the necessary shortcuts to take us off the main road which was very busy, very dusty and decidedly dangerous with very little in the way of pavement, in fact almost non existent. A taxi costs about €10. We loved Aegean Suites and even after a visit to their sister hotel Skiathos Princess, on the courtesy bus for the day, we still preferred the intimacy and location of Aegean. Would highly recommend and we wish the hotel team every success for the season.…
We have had a wonderful stay here! Would totally recommend a deluxe suite if you can afford it as the extra space it gives you is great. We had a smaller suite for a late check out on the last day so were able to compare. We came early in the season, the team was new and there were a few bumps as they gelled and got to grips with the season in the first week. That said, the team were WONDERFUL and could not do enough to please us and make sure we had a lovely stay. By week two they were on the top of their game. Special thanks has to go to Maria, Giannis and Anthi who were super stars and really made our stay extra special, they felt like friends by the time we left. The hotel is well located with views over the Aegean and a 15 minute walk from Skiathos town. The beach is over the road with bars and restaurants (our favourite being Exantas) to head to for lunch. The pool was a good size, clean, lots of loungers and towels with a pool bar and jacuzzi. Breakfasts were great, chef was able to accommodate individual preferences we also had a couple of lunches by the pool. We would come back and recommend to anyone thinking of visiting Skiathos.…
We have stayed several times and the team here , location and rooms never disappoint .. Nothing is too much trouble . We love the peaceful and friendly atmosphere here and have already rebooked for next year ! We especially would like to thank Maria for her tireless hard work, friendliness and laughter . Alex who is wants great things for this hotel and will deliver. Yannis ( Jon) who has the best smile ever and always puts a smile on our faces even if he does mix up the Still water up with the sparkling !! ( who cares , we’re on holiday !! ) Book and enjoy
I share the same views as philb354. We were in room 304 at the same time. Steps, steps and more steps! If you forgot something from your room then you had no other option than to grit your teeth and climb.....and climb! Not wishing to appear negative this hotel has plenty of good things going for it. The rooms are very well maintained and ours was very spacious. We also had a leaking tap but managed to get it fixed the following day. The staff, in particular Maria and Alex, are so eager to please. Nothing was too much effort. The reception staff were very helpful. The reason I only gave this review a four is because the catering lacked imagination. I accept it was early in the season and the staff were ‘bedding in’ but breakfast choices were very limited for a 4* and there’s only so many ways in which I can personally enjoy eggs. We b&b’d in the knowledge there were three restaurants. Not so. As mentioned by others it was one menu shared across three seating levels. The menu options were not very exciting and expensive by comparison with neighbouring choices. Drinks too were pricey. On several occasions the bar and the restaurant were empty. We would go out and eat lunch and dinner elsewhere every day which is a sad situation when the potential is there to attract us to eat at the resort, but that opportunity was not snapped up by management/catering. A real revenue generating opportunity missed! We loved Skiathos. It is amazingly beautiful and the Aegean Suites could easily make itself a far more desirable resort with just a little more imagination.…
Sixth visit here, with 2023 already booked! Great location, rooms, and staff. Special mention to Maria and Alex, who in the face of some season-opening difficulties )not of their making) saw to it that we had a comfortable stay once again. I really can't recommend this hotel highly enough.
As this was only the 2nd week of the season, there were a few teething problems, however overall our stay was excellent. We had room 305 - the highest in the complex - for those slightly unfit - this room wouldn't suit.....its 142 steps up form the pool level and in the summer heat that might be too much for some. However the room itself was excellent (apart from the shower/bath) and the view was exceptional. Possibly the best we've ever had from a "package" holiday in Europe. (The shower....it wasn't very powerful and leaked. it was reported on day one, and was still unfixed by our exit) We only ate snack and breakfast from the menu ( there are not 3 restaurants as advertised) its just 1 with three levels, Pool side, a patio above then the main eating area. All off same menu. Breakfast - i hope you like eggs? eggs in about 10 different ways, plus simple fruits and cereal available. Main food we tried was OK, but nothing special. Drinks pricing is a little steep. (14 euro or a single whiskey or 11 for a vodka & lemonade) so its fair to say they dont get that much drinking business.. they're missing a trick there!! For us it was about 30 minute walk to the harbour. Taxi and buses run regularly. The beach is just over the road, which is handy, and although a little stony does improved the closer to the town you walk The pool is a good size with an attached jacuzzi. The town itself offer a huge array of dining options for every budget. I'd highly recommend exploring the lanes to find the local tavernas rather than stick to the water front options. For those with a bit more budget, The Windmill & Johnnys are both worth the effort. Finally - the staff - reception staff were helpful but didnt really follow up on our requests. Everyone else though was attentive and although mistakes were made it was only week 2 of the season. A special shout out to the Breakfast supervisor, Maria - she was excellent and engaging with all the visitors and a real asset to their team! We wouldnt hesitate to go back in the future to both these suites and Skiathos…
We only use a hotel on holiday for sleeping in and breakfast really however we always book higher end so our relaxation time is the best possible as they tend to get the basics right. With this in mind we booked the Garden View Junior Suite - the most simple room in the hotel but with the luxury of 5*. How wrong we were. The positives were it was on the first level of rooms so only 26 stairs to access it, there was a large sitting room, bedroom plus shower room. It did have a slight view of the sea too, however the room was most definitely not 5* which was highly disappointing. There were 2 single beds pushed together which drifted apart in the night when you turned over, the WiFi in the room was terrible or non existent, there was a small basic TV in the corner (you couldn’t lie in bed and watch it), the lamps has black tape around some of the plugs, we were meant to have complimentary water every day but this only happened half the time, the room overall had old fashioned decor and facilities, some of the towels were fraying at the edges quite badly and the room overall was dark. The first 2 nights the air con unit was switching itself off and on and beeping, we spoke to the hotel on the second night. They tried to send someone to fix it whilst we were in bed, no joy, so they then sent us to another room to sleep that night. That room was what we were expecting…modern, light, one full superking bed, smart TV mounted on the wall…we weren’t expecting a hot tub or anything extra we just wanted the basics done right and it was clear we were in the cheap seats. If that was the standard of room we wanted we would have booked a 3* and saved a lot of money. We spoke to other guests who had upgraded suits which sounded nicer however there were mountains of stairs to climb to get to your room. In some cases over 100!! They were also were given the brand new towels (lucky them) but bits of white fluff came off when they used them. One guest who had the most expensive suit referred to the hotel as “faulty towers”…I think this summed it up… Our visit was the opening week of the season. The staff were excellent and tried to go above and beyond and we cannot fault them. The breakfast menu was good. Lots of different coffees, coked breakfasts centring around eggs, pancakes, french toasts etc and freshly squeezed juices. However it was clear they were understaffed and had not worked together before so breakfast orders were wrong etc and you waited a bit too long for things. We ordered french toast and was sent dry toasted bread with the toppings over. Myself and other guests then had to explain to the chef what french toast was and how to make it. Again it’s the basics which is what you pay for in 5*. Maria F the restaurant supervisor was fantastic however and deserves a special mention! The pool was great, about 25 comfy sun beds with towels, a pool bar which great cocktails and the view looked out over the sea. It was next to a road so I can imagine sunbathing in the peak of the season with traffic zooming past is not the most relaxing. Location wise it was great (one of the main reasons we booked it) right next to bus stop number 5, a 20 min walk to town and a short walk to the beach. The hotel could also organise a lot of things for you, they ordered our quad bike which was dropped off to us at the hotel and picked up from there too. I wouldn’t put this as a 5*…maybe for Skiathos but not on par with others in Europe based on our room. We still had a fantastic holiday but maybe that’s because we didn’t spend too much time in the hotel……
What a wonderful hotel. Our stay was lovely from start to finish. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. We were upgraded to a sea view on arrival and the room was spacious and very comfortable. There are a lot of steps but we were lucky as ours was one of the lower level ones but still with a lovely view from the balcony. The only slight negative was the road can be a little noisy at times as it’s right on the main road in and out of Skiathos town. But overall the location was very good - right opposite the beach and very easy to walk into town with all the numerous and excellent restaurants. Tip - find the route through the back streets to avoid using the main road. We would definitely recommend this small but beautiful hotel, and Skiathos itself is a lovely island. One to return to.…
