We`ve been visiting shacks regularly since 1994 and yes, you can encounter stomach upsets. The better hotels like Leela with have medication on hand for such problems as they crop up so often. In recent years standards seem... More

Hello, My fiancee and I are attending this hotel in September this year for our honeymoon. Neither of us have been to India before! We will be there until the 19th September. Please can I ask a few questions: 1) I realise that we are travelling during the end of the monsoon season. Does anyone know if this will affect the nearby beach shacks etc? Will significant places of interest be closed? 2) How many mosquitoes can we expect early-mid September? Any tips on how to manage? i.e. does the hotel provide nets/sprays/coils etc? Are there shops nearby to purchase the relevant repellants? 3) How much rain v sun should we expect? Will we need to pack raincoats? 4) Any nice touristy things to do in the area around the hotel at this time without needing to take a long cab trip? Thank you for your help. As the Leela has some amazing reviews and appears to be giant, I am assuming there won't be much to worry about if there's any monsoon rains. Advice welcomed. Matt
