We spent 4 nights in August 2020 at Diani Sea Lodge. We really loved the staff attention, diversity of games and events (including staff to look after the kids :-) ) , food quality and stunning sea during our stay. We stayed in the new family room. These are very spacious for a family of 4!

Wow, COVID!!!!!!! Happened and this means my escapades had been put on a hold. It surely has been frustrating not being able to travel until i stumbled on a special offer by this tour company KESHI tours on an unforgettable 4 nights and 5 days flight package ALL INCLUSIVE at Diani Sea Lodge. Now for the ones travelling or intending to travel to Diani kindly take up this offer for Diani Sea Lodge for only 29000ksh or 290$ per person sharing. This was basically too good to be true and i couldnt afford to let it pass by. We flew using Jambo Jet and picked by the driver sent to us who was really charming and knew how to engage us on our way back. The good thing is the airstrip is just 10 mins max from the hotel and its short and smooth. We checked in at the hotel and given a cold towel and nice iced hibiscus tea shot to cool us down as its very humid and hot at the coast. We didnt get a room with a view as the place was really taken but it was okay. Our room was nice with a working AC, spacious Lamu beds and with telly as well with few channels for those who want telly. Despite being at the coast and its hot, they still provide hot water showers and the showers have high pressure. Our rooms were cleaned daily and amenities changed if need be. Water for drinking is provided in the reusable water bottles so if need be you can always refill. The meals were buffet and they had different choices, from vegetarian sections to fruit sections(carved as you wait), live cooking area and all meals different days were thematic so you are spoilt for choice. They also had a a snack for the day as well as 4 O'clock tea with snacks. All inclusive included selected alcoholic drinks and softs and HEY!!! they were unlimited. How cool is that. At this point let me mention the one guy who truly went out of our way to take care of us at the Bar and that is Geoffrey!!!! He is really good at what he does and really went out of his way to take care of us and that was really amazing. If you happen to be there indulge him with your drinks challenge and he will do it for you. WIth Covid as the new norm its imperative to know the hotel has really gone out of their way to ensure that all protocols are duly observed. Despite being buffet, they had allocated chefs to serve to avoid everyone handling serving spoons. There is sanitizers allocated everywhere in public areas and washing soaps and it was more than sufficient. The staff also remind you to wear masks whenever going to serve. Did i mention they also provide nicely done with the hotel logo masks by the way......what a touch. We extended our stay by 2 more days and another gem at the front office Valentine had us upgraded to another room which we could view the ocean and it was really thoughtful. She was also very informative and always at hand to assist so was the other team of Edward and company. We did sunrise from the beach since this is a beach property but we also wanted sunsets and we got to go to Kongo River beach for amazing sunsets and ask Valentine she will sort you out. There is ample security, activities for both old and the little guests as well and they have taken all the consideration and we didnt use much of it but its there. Security are there to shield you from the pesky monkeys that are there and please DO NOT FEED THEM. While in at the lodge, enjoy the Wasini island tour(more on this on my other review), they also have kite surfing school adjacent and its worth using it. My next bucket list There is also night entertainment scheduled. We got to enjoy some local Digo community dance as well as the Samburu one. We missed out on acrobatics. The Dj also has really good music and you can request a number should you be interested while enjoying some night drinks I had only few cons while there but overall it didnt mess up my overall staycation namely 1. I got unwell while at the hotel and there is no telephone in the room and our room was quite far. In case of emergency you are on your own as there are no information on which numbers to call. 2. The room information said the front office works 24hrs and to my disappointment it doesnt and they only have security officers who couldnt help much and i could see their helplessness despite their urge to help. 3. Despite the chefs wearing gloves most of the times they were not changing them and especially the ones cutting fruits and so they stay with them for a while and from a point of hygiene it was a turn off. Observed for a while and that put me off from taking cut fruits again. 4. Service was abit wanting sometimes and there was no sense of urgency. However, i would commend all the apprentices who served us as they did a fantastic job. This was a beautiful stay and i would recommend the place. Still take up the offer it ends in October but its beautiful to travel again and it was awesome to stay at this beautiful property and i recommend it. Will definitely come back

I had a very good stay there. Pleasant service from the staff including Tom, Valentine and "Professor Madafu" who made sure we had madafu daily. The food was great, but you can consider including more variety. Our room was spacious and clean and we enjoyed some good sleep. Improvement can however be done in terms of gardening around the rooms. Overally, we did enjoy our stay there, will definitely be back soon. Thanks

Our stay in Diani Sea Lodge was a great experience for my wife and my two kids; 6 years and 9 years. The Location is one of the best in Diani Beach, all of the people who work in the hotel are human, nice and friendly, the food is excellent and with very good flavour. Our kids always felt happy and Safe with the different activities in the hotel. Our room and specially the bed was really confortable. When we go back to the coast we will stay there with out a doubt. Thank You Very Much to all the woman and men that made our stay very nice. We send a our greetings to the CocoNut Man, Victor, Aisha, Tom, the chef and all the personel. A Santi Santa!!!
