We thoroughly enjoyed our week here as a family. It was one of the few resorts that offered family rooms. The rooms had air conditioning, mosquito nets, safe, fridge and were cleaned daily. The food was exceptional with lots of choice and variety. They went out of their way to cater gluten free food for my daughter with coeliac disease, even baking a gluten free cake for her birthday! The pool is fantastic with a large 2.8m deep area, a loop round an island, baby pool and a slide through a waterfall. Loads of activities put on including archery, palm weaving, volley ball, water aerobics, water polo, tennis (bit run down) crazy golf, table tennis, billiards. Great evening entertainment with singers, dancers and acrobats. Amassing massages in the spa that were reasonable price Free scuba taster in the pool, glass bottom boat trip (extra cost). Frienly staff. Highly recommended resort.

My wife and I have just returned from a 12 night stay at DSR following a 5 day safari and it was a perfect place to chill out after an excellent but tiring tour with Transtrek safaris who I would highly recommend. My son and sister also joined us for the safari and first week at the Hotel to celebrate my 60th birthday and I was overwhelmed with the cake and celebratory presentation dance the waiting staff put on for me at dinner. When talking about the staff here we couldn't have asked for a more friendly helpful team they are outstanding, the Resort should be proud of them and I hope this message of appreciation gets back to them. Everyone was a joy but I will just give a special mention to the one's we talked to most, firstly Valentine of reservations who I corrasponded with online for several months before our visit and she was always quick and accommodating with her replies. Nasib and Daniel of animation always found time to talk and joke with us even though we didn't take part in all the activities while Nzai Ali Swaleh Ruwa and Lydia gave fantastic waiting service from the bar and dining room. Restaurant supervisor Sheila also went out of her way to try and make sure there was more ice on hand for evening drinks after we complained of a lack of it and Koi who kept the pool area clean and tidy always gave us a morning "Jambo" when we settled down on our sunbeds around the amazing warm pool. The guys on the front desk were also very helpful. The only fault I could give of this resort apart from sometimes being short of ice in the evenings is the room towels could be a bit softer but this is a minor issue and there are far more positives including beautifully kept gardens an excellent beachfront location and some good evening entertainment. We arrived in some very wet weather which meant we spent the first evening indoors eating and having a few samples of the all inclusive cocktails. Thankfully it brightened up the next day and we enjoyed a lovely day starting with a delicious buffet breakfast, a lie by the pool, some lunch at the pool bar and some more cocktails. We then decided to take one of the glass bottom boat rides to go snorkelling. It was an ok experience for $25 each but it took 1 hour to pick everyone up from our hotel and the sister hotel and they tried to pack in 3 extra people that there was no space for- I would recommend reviewing the different companies before paying any money, but none the less we eventually had our fun! We then returned to our hotel where we were able to enjoy a lovely buffet dinner set up outside which was way more enjoyable than the previous rainy evening. They then had Masai dancers followed by a small market and a DJ till 11pm We checked out very early the next morning. Enjoyed our stay in this hotel.
