excellent stay of 4 nights where I had time to appreciate the advantages and identify some small faults. the resort is very well located in a huge private forest park and well managed from an "ecological" point of view by the Laotian owner, on the edge of a beautiful clean river full of fish which is rare, the (wild) fish are visible from your room. the first price bungalows are comfortable, clean, quiet. Superb little museum bringing together wild orchids, amphibians, snakes, insects and a superb collection of butterflies, all identified in the resort park by several foreign specialists, all financed by the same owner, a remarkable cultural approach. In 2 days of walking in an almost intact forest, picking up only 12 pieces of plastic waste, a record for those who know Asia. Wild orchids in bloom visible to experienced eyes, to the lucky golden pheasant and other whistling birds. Pretty paths and well-maintained hanging branches, the resort garden is very pleasant with streams lined with aromatic plants (acorus, several lemongrasses, holy basil, etc.). the resort produces its quality “filtered mineral” water, again a rarity. Souvenir store with very good quality fabric products at uncompetitive prices! However, there are some products from minorities in northern Vietnam, you have to ask the sellers for Lao products. The restaurant's menu would need to be simplified to focus more on the quality of execution of the dishes, quality of ingredients and efficiency of service when ordering; however helpful, smiling, warm staff supervised by a GM who loves the country, the place and his team. hearty breakfast and restaurant with several nice places for lunch and dinner The aperitif spots along the river are really very pleasant at the end of the day. In short, I will return there as soon as possible

We arrived from Switzerland two weeks ago and that's it, we want to move... to Namkat Yorlapa! And yes. We arrive in the middle of nature and as if dug and shaped in the middle of the mountains we discover a small island, a haven of peace and tranquility (of several dozen hectares) with enchanting landscapes, breathtaking waterfalls, rivers, rice fields all in an authentic setting, we discover incredible flora and fauna, buildings decorated very traditionally with local objects that we would like to buy to decorate our own homes in the same way. The reception is incredible overlooking a swimming pool, a restaurant, a SPA, and fitness room, each more neat than the last. Concerning the room, super comfortable, great luxury, we enjoyed a terrace with our toes fanned out overlooking the river, going from the terrace to the jacuzzi, and spent our nights in surprising calm. The pillows are the softest I have tested in Laos, and the staff happily offers you blankets in addition to additional heating if necessary. The breakfast is super complete, so big that you almost need a bike to go around it (just kidding) large selection of local and traditional dishes, all the European classics of a complete breakfast are there, noodle and egg soup station, coffee machine worthy of Swiss machines, sunny terrace overlooking a watercourse. The restaurant also offers a very affordable and delicious food menu for lunch and dinner. I could continue to tell you about the place but you will have nothing more to discover.
We happily recommend.

My stay at Namkat Yolapa Resort was truly outstanding. The resort is nestled in the jungle, close to Oudomxay, and it perfectly blends in with the surrounding, as it uses natural materials. It‘s the perfect getaway close to nature to relax and just be. All rooms/bungalows are beautifully located right next to the river, with a modern interior. The staff was lovely and the manager very attentive, trying to fulfill every wish. The restaurant offers a varied menu, with local and international dishes and a vegetarian section. I really enjoyed my stay here, specifically because of its authentic location amidst of nature, at the same time offering the right amount of comfort to have this holiday feeling.

We treated ourselves to a break from the stress of traveling through Laos. The room was good, but far from reception...since you live in the jungle, you do encounter spiders (including in the room) etc. The pool area has no shade, we only saw 2 umbrellas for about 20 loungers. The restaurant was good, but the service was not so willing to work...we had to get the menu ourselves several times, despite there being about 6 employees behind the counter. The hotel itself does not offer any activities, if you want to do something you have to go to the park and book the relevant tours. The breakfast buffet was very tasty. The hotel complex is very remote, but offers transfers for 25 dollars, for example to the bus terminal.

To begin our stay, we were amazed, the welcome of the hotel is sumptuous and worthy of the place which surrounds it, magnificent decor which immediately immerses you and immerses you in this peaceful and natural atmosphere. We received a room in the Lao universe, it is a pretty house with a glass roof overlooking a terrace and river! The interior is sumptuous and neat. We were able to enjoy the huge swimming pool in the heart of the greenery at 360 degrees! 😎 The activities are at the top, a walk in the heart of the lush forest with footbridges with breathtaking views, upon arriving we were able to discover this magnificent, incredible waterfall where we were able to swim and cool off!🤩 For the return we took the zip lines which were great. 👍 Finally, the entire team who took care of us during our stay were extremely kind, especially Seth who served us at every meal 🥘. A BIG THANK YOU to the manager who took great care from start to finish! INCREDIBLE experience 👌

My wife and I had the best time on our honeymoon here. We stayed for 3 nights in July. We got lucky and barely saw any rain while we were there.
The property is incredible. We loved supporting a company that aligns with our values and invests in the protection of the local environment. We highly recommend checking out the museum early during your stay - after seeing all of the amazing biodiversity in that setting, we found that we were able to more quickly notice everything around the property.
Big shoutouts to the general manager Ben and restaurant manager Dao. Their hospitality and attention to detail made our experience even more incredible. They knew we were very excited to look for critters and kept their eyes peeled for us. We were able to see a green tree snake which was a huge highlight.
One note - not all activities are available during the rainy season. We hope to return at some point during the dry season so we can enjoy all the property has to offer. We'd still recommend a visit even in the rainy season, but I think we would stay longer during the dry season. 3 nights was absolutely perfect for us :)

If you are traveling to Laos and plan to go North of Luang Prabang, you simply cannot miss staying at the Nam Kat Yorla Pa.
The beautiful resort is set in a picturesque location amongst the natural beauty of Northern Laos. The hotel rooms themselves are terrific, with huge floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Nam Kat river, whilst the resort facilities are exceptional, from the pool to the bar right on the river.
I had no issues at all during my stay, and can confidently say it was a five star stay. This is especially due to the Manager Ben who was able to assist with any matter, from booking train tickets to participating in a local Bacci ceremony.
Ben makes your hotel stay that next level of comfort, and it is critical if you do not speak Lao or Khmu that you get Ben’s contact details upon checking in, as most staff only have limited English and French language skills. Regardless of that, Ben is a fabulous manner and a pleasure to deal with.
To note, the resort is located approximately 30-40 minutes from the town of Muang Xai, so you should organise a pickup from the train station or airport with the hotel prior to arriving, and the rooms are all spread out along the river so you may have up to a five minute walk between your room and the restaurant, pool area.
Lastly, make sure you do a tour of the waterfall! It was incredible to be the only person there compared with the crowds you experienced at other waterfalls around Laos.

We spent 10 days in this magnificent place. The hotel is located along the river and is surrounded by greenery, a setting favoring relaxation and disconnection. The bungalows are very nicely designed with a view of the forest and the water flowing between the ratchets. Within the hotel there are two beautiful swimming pools for adults and young children, a space designed for doing sports, but also for having a massage. A cycle path crosses the place, allowing customers to stroll on foot or by bike in the different green landscapes (forest, rice fields, fields). The hotel also offers other activities within its nature reserve: an easy-to-access path in the forest with suspension bridges leading to a beautiful waterfall, a visit to the hotel's very beautiful museum (which is elsewhere the first museum of biodiversity in Laos) where we discover a multitude of species (butterflies, snakes, frogs, orchids and others present in the reserve), a zip line course, quad rides etc. We enjoyed our meal times: the breakfast buffet is very varied, the à la carte dishes are tasty and plentiful. The hotel staff is smiling and very kind; A big thank you to Benjamin who took great care of us during our stay. Thanks also to Phet for his availability, his good humor and his humor, thank you for accompanying us on a nature outing even when it was dawn and for allowing us to meet great people!

We, family of 5, spent 2 nights at the resort at the end of our trip in Laos.
It was a gift to ourselves after traveling remote areas in the northern part of Laos.
We could stay in a very comfortable bungalow for 5 people (which was actually 2 separated rooms, one master bedroom + extra bed and a living room with two beds).
The rooms are beautifully decorated, matching the local vibes. We also loved the balcony overlooking the river and the forest.
The resort itself is in the middle of the forest, and next to a park that also belongs to the resort. You'll find plenty of activities at the park such as a waterfall, zip line, ATV...
The entire resort is beautiful and quiet, it's totally matching the natural environment around.
I'd suggest keeping such a nice place for the end of your trip Laos and treat yourself with some good food, drinks, massage and naps by the pool.
The staff is friendly and helpful, special thanks to Ben who helped us and guided us.
Thanks to the whole team!

Dear Lenuta, we have a lot of guest staying around one week here. If you come to mostly relax and do some activities it will be the perfect spot. Anyway, you can change your booking after few days if you think it's too much.
See you soon
Ben
Hey, you can use a mini van or a bus to come to our resort. Then you take a mini van or bus to Nang Kiew and from there you can use a boat to Luangprabang

1. We flew from Vientiane north and then had a private minivan take us to the resort (we were a group of 6 travelling together). To get from the resort to Luang Prabang we took the minivan to Pakbeng (approximately 6 hours on very windy roads). From Pakbeng we took a boat to Luang Prabang. We really enjoyed the leisurely boat trip.
2. The resort was about 30mins from the town. We found the restaurant average and reasonably pricey and were bored after 3 days of lunch and dinner (although we seem to be quite fussy in our need for variety). Breakfast was pretty good, especially eggs cooked outside. We ate at a local restaurant in the town and it was fantastic, lots of local choice.
3. Sorry, we didn’t explore the laundry options, usually I wash in the bathroom sink but it was winter in December when we were there and very cold overnight so nothing dried (around 23”C during the day).
There are some great activities to do out of the resort and the pool looked fantastic if you are not there in the cold snap of winter!

We arranged a van and tour guide for most of our trip and this was part of it. If I was doing it again, i would stay there for longer and save money from the van and guide for this part of the trip. I suggest you contact the hotel and ask them.
Thanks
Stephen
