We stayed in the hotel for a week at the end of September. The hotel was exactly as it has been descirbed. Clean rooms, good service, plenty of food, nice pool area. In general our expectations were covered, even more, compared to three star hotels in other touristic areas in Greece. What really made me angry are the reviews from some English about Eastern European people. The only people that made noise at 3 am and woke up the rest of resting people were drunken English tourists. Security was asked to step in. Enligh, come to some of our resorts or go to Spain to see what English people with "good manners" do. I would recommend this hotel for all that would like to have relaxing holiday.

We used this hotel for a base for our holiday and were very impressed with the facilities and location.
The room was a chalet in the gardens ,near the pool. It had a double and a single bed in it with a shower/toilet room. This was cleaned and the towels replaced dailey. We went B&B but prefered to eat in the hotel bar, attached on the front, as this was a great breakfast with lots of extras at no charge (orange juice/cake etc) with 10% discount every time we ate there.
The location is on the main street with all the popular bars and resterants there.
We asked for an iron and hair dryer, when we got there. This was no bother and was fetched straight away.
We did not bother with air con or fridge as the room was always cool and there is a supermarket opposite if we needed a cool drink.
We used the room as a base and did not live in the room 24hrs a day therefor it met all that we required and paid for.
The swimming pool was a good size with plenty of loungers to go around.
In summery if you want more from a hotel then pay more.We were very happy and will be using this hotel on our next trip to Tsilivi.

We stayed for 1week18sep the room was clean and the hotel was fine the pool cleaned every morning the staff were just there to do a job no interaction or smiles this in turn made a poor atmosphere the hotel was full for our week but no one seemed to use the bar on a night time the tvs were not working and had no sky connection.it has to be said that the med resuareunt had the best menus I have seen in Greece there was so much to choose from and the food was excellent .the price of food and drink in the hotel was ok I would say fair price 3euros for beer and only 1.50euros for wine so no complaints.the resort itself was fine nothing to shout about but pretty far value in all .the reset taunts were all good typical Greek fair and good service the bars were fine and not too expensive 2.50 beer and 3 for ouzo and sprite spirits were 4 you would pay about 10euro for a good 2 cours meal with wine .overall not a bad place but not a place I would rush to return.

My partner and I had our first holiday together in Zante (Zakynthos) back in 2003. As we arrived at the Mediterranee Hotel our first impressions couldn't have been better. Location wise, it was close enough to all ammenities and bars / restaurants. Yet not too close so that it was noisy and buzzing. The hotel itself looked fantastic as the sun shone on it's entrance. The room which was situated in the main building was spotlessly clean and welcoming. This continued throughout our 7 night stay. The receptionists, maids, and bar staff couldn't have been more helpful. The pool always had room to sunbathe and had sun beds available. There were people present but not too many for the size of the resort. Unfortunately I suffered with a bug which was circulating around the island. Even this didn't get me down. Although I was abroad I did not worry at all, as the English speaking Doctor was fantastic. Along with the Pharmacy staff themselves who also aided in my recovery. The resort itself and all of the local people really were brilliant, and so friendly. I would visit again tomorrow and would advise others to also. Enjoy!

We have been visiting Tsillivi for more than 6 years the friends we go with have been going for over 15 years and we both agree that the Hotel Mediterranee is the worst hotel on the island, it was filthy, the staffs children were going toilet outside under the stairwells infront of guests and we told the staff and they became abusive but did not clean it up, the children were also caught over and over again stealing stuff out of handbags or hand luggage, there were dead lizards in the swimming pool, the food was not very good at all so most of the guests ate out in the local resteraunts which were excellent, all in all we would give this hotel a wide berth.

We stayed at the hotel in May,and thought it was a good place to stay.It was a good location for all bars, shops, restaurants, and the beach. The rooms were very nice and had good showers,tv.and a nice balcony. The only problem was there was no kettle, cups.spoons etc,so if like us you like a cuppa it would be wise to take a travel kettle,The staff were all friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble to them.We had b and b;which was continental a selection of bread.jam honey;yogurt.fruit;boiled eggs;toast;orange juice;coffee;tea and cereal;which was quite good;I feel self catering or b and b to be a better option than all inclusive;as it gives you a chance to sample some of the local bars and restaurants and keep them in business;as the all inclusive deals will close many of them down,Best alternative breakfast at Sunset Boulevard on way to the beach opposite hotel;the hotels own Mediterranee Grill was excellent for a meal as was Popeyes.Zeus;Wine and Roses and Stamnes. If you like nice fish ad chips;turn let from hotel entrance and find Golden Fish oon right side of the road. And for the best bar in Tsilivi visit Yannis,Thespina and Ilias at the fantastic Friends Bar.Going back to the hotel,it has a lovely swimming Pool, tennis court and surrounding gardens. We as a family would recomend this as a great hotel in a great location.

Just arrived home after 11 nights of possibly the worst holiday we have ever had.Although we were looking forward to this holiday, our mood changed as soon as we were shown to our outdated shabby room, with three single beds (for two of us??!!) side by side with no room to move between them. The beds themselves are indeed , most uncomfortable, and hard. The doors and windows are ill fitting ,therefore road noise and the constant sound of other guests talking and moving furniture around can be heard at all hours. The pool area isnt too bad and sunloungers are plentifull. Now on to the food!....well..if you are totally devoid of the sense of taste, then your in for a treat!! Not a wide variation of tasteless cheap food is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner.(nothing really suitable for kids either)Something that the hotel cannot be held directly responsible for are the guests , their behavior and their lack of manners.I myself witnessed a young woman around 20 years old ,sampling some pasta sauce from the serving ladle, then place it back into the sauce tray....twice!!Then i saw a young man in his mid twenties ,clear his throat and spit into the childrens pool.He was with his partner and another couple, which none of them seemed as though this was nothing but normal to them .Disgusting.I must also add that the people i saw doing these things, were of eastern european nationallities...the whole time we were there we counted only six british families come and go.If you do go to this hotel, forget all that your parents told you about manners, and saying please and thankyou.....oh and learn how to join a queue in the middle or even better..at the front, you will fit right in.

We stayed there a couple of years back (had half-board with a la carte dinner) and still to this day talk about the food they served for dinner, it was by far the best we've ever had. Tons of excellent seafood, great saganaki specialties, great entrees, everything light, very well cooked and presented. Limited breakfast selection and very disappointing rooms, though, definitely not 4* worth. The outdoors were pretty, lovely garden but small pool area and no direct access to the beach (it's a few min down the street). I would go there again for the food but would be very careful picking the room.

We stayed half board in October, 2011. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. Yes there was bread, cheese and meats, but that was about it. The evening meal more than made up for it though. The food at the Med Grill was amazing and surprisingly, we could choose anything we wanted from the menu for starters & mains. Dessert was usually a bowl of ice cream, which was pretty tasty in my opinion.

The rooms were basic, with marble floors and very low beds, but as we didn't plan to spend lots of time in the room, they suited our needs. They were kept clean, and were always cool after the heat of the day. Despite being low, the beds were pretty comfortable.

The bath/shower thing would be my only complaint about the rooms. I would have preferred they just had a shower as the high sided half bath/shower combo made it tricky to get in & out of the shower. The shower curtain just stuck to you as it had nowhere else to go, it was that narrow. Still, it did the job we needed it to.

The hotel is a 5 minute walk (max) to the beach, which you can see from the front door & surrounded by all the nick-nack souvenir shops as well as several bars and restaurants

All in all, we had a fab time at this hotel and would stay again.

Visited in August for family wedding. Had 2 rooms, one for 20 & 17 year old sons. Standard of rooms as expected for a more traditional 2 star (Sunset hol rating) Greek hotel. Had read other reviews re showers so was prepared! Shower tray with curtain around which ends up sticking to you as you have to avoid the huge bath mixer tap you share the space with. Set up more like a wet room with drain in bathroom floor. Best to put the bath mat away from the tray & step across to it, then use it to mop up. At least they are changed every couple of days & dry out quickly in the heat!
The bed linen is changed every couple of days. The rooms are a good size. The furniture is a bit tired and dated but OK. TV is a small portable & we could only find one channel in English which had Greek subtitles but who cares - who goes to Greece to watch TV. Air con is free which is excellent though no instructions for settings on remote. We never bothered with a fridge which is about 5 euros a day. Found as other reviewers did that its easy to get water from nearby supermarkets for 30 cents for 1.5 litre bottles whenever wanted it or a 6 pack of same for 1 euro 50. If going to beach get a frozen bottle of water as well - well worth a few extra cents.
Breakfast basic but OK. Brown & white bread, cheese slices & 'ham'/luncheon meat, sliced bread for toast (though only one toaster!), tinned sliced peaches, lovely creamy Greek yoghurt and honey, boiled eggs, fresh plums the only fresh produce. Cereals available but we didn't like the milk. Tea & coffee but the orange was squash not juice. However for 4 euros you can get a full English from pool bar if thats what you want.
The pool is deep, 1.4m approx at shallowest end. When we first arrived plenty of sunbeds but this changed as the week went on & more people reserved them then didn't appear for over 2 hours. We walked to the beach & had 2 sunbeds with umbrella for 6 euro ar Freddy's Beach Bar where toilets are clean & new. There are other similar bars nearby. The sea is shallow for a very long way out and sandy sea floor. We also liked Planos beach where there was a pool of the beach to use where 2 beds & brolly 5 euros & gave option of pool or sea. More to do at this beach for teenagers with more to see when snorkelling & pedallos to hire for 10 euro an hour. The restaurant here 'Avgoustis' was excellent with good value meals & free bread and bruschetta as starter & melon after. Some in our party ordered jacket potato & one portion was 2 potatoes! Cheese & ham toastie came with fries for 2.50 euro.
We ate out every night, mainly somewhere different each time. Dionisios Grill (just past Alamis & turn right as recommended in previous review) was excellent and good portions - try the traditional greek chicken skewers - you get 4 huge skewers which my normally ravenous 17 year old couldn't finish. Also excellent Menhirs for atmosphere & food. Athena also had excellent choice of food & great Greek dishes so something to suit everyone. Tried Dionysos (set back from main street) but I thought not as good & service slow as the place was very busy - my fish platter was missing 2 of the 5 fish dishes. If you try the italian Il Gusto I can only recommend you eat early (ie 7pm) as we went at 8.15 & service intolerably slow - we had mains only & didn't get out til after 10. However nice the food was we were too tired to be bothered when it finally arrived.
We ate at The Med (the restaurant attached to the hotel) & used the 10% discount card. again food as good & good value. Greek people very friendly - even if you don't eat at their restaurant.
Finally, we went on a boat trip with www.LevanteZante.com (we hired the boat all to ourselves as extended family of 22 there for a wedding). Capt Spiros excellent, saw turtles in the bay, went cave swimming & called at St Nicholas beach on way back.
We would go back to Tsilivi again.
