Sea views are easy to come by at TUI BLUE Caravel, because it perches right on the edge of a golden strip of sand. The resort is set right on a sand-and-shingle beach. A couple of steps link the pool terrace and the shore, so it’s really easy to flit between the two. Location-wise, you’ve got a handful of local bars and tavernas within 10 minutes’ stroll. Zakynthos Town is within easy reach, too – it’s just 15 minutes’ drive away.

TUI BLUE Caravel receives mixed reviews; while guests appreciate its prime location near beaches and the high marks for cleanliness and professional staff, concerns are raised about the noise from nearby pubs and traffic. The serene atmosphere is occasionally overshadowed by dated decor and noise complaints. Rooms are criticized for their size and outdated style, and some guests feel the value doesn't match the price, citing hidden costs and unmet expectations. Nonetheless, the hotel's amenities, including the spa, are often highlighted positively.

We have just returned from two weeks vacation. Our visit was during July/August 2020, with covid measures in place as expected.

Firstly, a big thank you to the fabulous hotel team at The Caravel. We were made to feel most welcome by each and every member of staff throughout our entire visit. The manager, George, is very visible, checking all aspects of staff and hotel performance and the wellbeing of guests. The hotel can be very proud of their team.

The hotel was relatively quiet during our first week, becoming busy for the second week as many UK visitors made last minute changes to travel plans. The hotel responded very well to this unexpected influx of guests, putting more sun beds out, and the food quality and service did not suffer, but I would agree with other comments about bar service being a bit slow, despite all staff working at a very fast pace - I think more bar/waiting staff would be the only solution.

The location is good, at one end of the town of Tsilivi, with direct access to a sand and pebble beach (beach shoes advisable for easy sea access). The two swimming pools are stunning.

The hotel food was superb, with a huge range of options for every mealtime. Because of covid the buffet is plated up for you behind perspex screens, as you move along the serving areas, selecting what you might like. I did hear a few guests moaning about the (small) queues, but I do not know how else the hotel could have managed this during the current situation, and in my opinion it was done extremely well. I think it could be helpful for guests if the main dishes of the day were listed somewhere to see before you enter the serving area so that you know what your main options are going to be.... but it would be impossible to list everything, as there is so much choice!

Our room, room 414, was a side sea view swim up room in the main building. It had full sun from first thing in the morning until about 2:30pm, and our swim up pool was shared with 4 other rooms. We loved the treat of being able to get directly into our pool from the terrace. Our room was a comfortable size, with a very compact bathroom. Furnishings are simple but adequate, the bed large and comfortable. Because of covid we were informed that cleaning would be every 3 days, as per local government guidelines, but this was a bit erratic, sometimes cleaning was on alternate days, but once we waited for 4 days, however clean towels and a room clean can be booked via the Tui blue app at the hotel if wanted. At times we found our room a little noisy as other guests returned to their rooms from the main bar which was in the same building, so request a room away from main bar if this is a problem for you.
All in all we had a most enjoyable break, and were very grateful to the staff that we were able to enjoy a holiday that felt safe during these difficult times. Thank you Team Caravel 😊

We were at this hotel the very last week before it closed its doors for end of season, I think it had only just recently opened back up ( about 3 weeks ) due to restrictions been lifted.
We had payed for a large balcony room with jacuzzi 224 why the room its self is simply just 1 room and a bathroom ( very basic ) the view of the ocean more than made up for it we were overlooking the pool and the view was just beautiful every morning, we used the jacuzzi on a evening and again views amazing.
The hotel itself is very nice and you felt very covid safe, all staff doing a fantastic job especially Lorraine around the pool she is lovely and definitely goes above and beyond always with a smile on her face 🙏
The hotel was very quiet due to end of season so we felt extremely safe and it was very easy to keep you're distance, we came here just to relax and have a bit of down time and tgat is just what we got. George the manager & all his staff even put on a bbq the last day before us all leaving and it was lovely 🙏
Our only little niggles were the food was always a little cold in the restaurant nice but cold ( maybe because the staff have to serve you and you're plate gets passed around so sometimes you have to wait a little while )
And our other was the beach, we love the beach and tend to do and all our time on their but we this beach a little disappointing, it's not a very big beach that's not the problem.
Everywhere we have ever been in the world on holiday they have cleaned the beach or rubbish everyday, raking the sand, cleaning the beds, tables etc. now I get YOU the holiday maker should always take you're rubbish with you but most people dont or throw their cigarettes on the sand etc there was fruit everywhere out of drinks theres also a little gully at the side off the hotel with stagnant water in which I think may have caused the flies.
This little stretch of beach needs a good cleaning I did hear another couple say the beach is usually lovely they do tend to clean it ? Just because its end if season these standards shouldn't be slipping if it's a 5 star hotel. For many people the beach is a big part of a holiday and I think this let's it down.
This being a 5 star hotel I couldn't understand why you had to pay extra for room service. I know every hotel is different and maybe weve been spoiled elsewhere but in our opinion I would say it's more a 4 star.
We travelled to kos in August just as lockdown was lifted, we payed much less for that holiday and I would say that hotel in our opinion was much better.
I understand theres a lot going on with covid but there's no mini bar just water, no tea or coffee facilitys room service but you have to pay we also didnt use the spa as we found the prices very high.
Would we go back again ?
I wouldn't say no but we like to travel and experience different places theres a whole world out there to enjoy 🌎

We’ve spend a lovely week at tui Caravel with my husband as we needed to get some relax after a long time.
The hotel overall is a 5star hotel but due to the covid-19 processes have been changed. The restaurant is a bit queued due to the fact that even if it is in buffet style there are cookers behind the glasses to serve you. However, we felt safe in this system as we cannot imagine what would be happen if everyone would be able to touch the equipment of the restaurant.
Snack bar and Culinarium are both well worthing to visit as well as the spa where the treatment is extremely recommended.
Room cleaning doesn’t takes place daily but that was not a problem for us as we felt more safe by not having a housekeeper everyday inside to our room.
Staff is all friendly and caring and they worth a big applause. The heat is extremely high and they work non stop with masks and sometimes gloves.
Credits to the manager from the reception Chris who was taking care about all guests. He was coming daily to where we were sitting just to ask if everything is going well and he was hearing patiently every single guest who had an issue. So professional man! Additionally, a special mention to Constantinha from the spa, she is one of the most professional staff I’ve ever meet and her treatment is highly recommended.
Thank you Caravel! Stay safe!

I stayed in this hotel for 7 nights with my partner last week. On first sight, it seemed like a lovely hotel, but looking back and comparing it to previous tui hotels, I don't believe it lives up to it's 5 star name. Our room was kept clean throughout our stay, but was disappointingly small and our bathroom was so small that only one person could be in there at the one time. I would say of all the hotels I've stayed in, 3-5 stars, this was the smallest room and bathroom I've seen. The scenery at the hotel is stunning and sitting by the pool, looking out at the sea made the holiday for me. Breakfast was very disappointing. Even though there was a waffle maker in the kitchen, there was never any waffles for breakfast. Even though we had paid for all inclusive, we went out 3 mornings for breakfast along the beach in other restaurants, which was exceptional. All inclusive was also a big let down for my partner as there were only 1 local beers included in the all inclusive, which was a stark contrast to previous tui hotels we have stayed in. On our first day in the hotel, my partner was unaware of what was and was not included in our all inclusive package, and when he questioned prices, a particular staff member seemed to be quite rude and abrupt, instead of simply explaining the menu and the options. I work in the service industry myself, so I was not impressed being served with a bad attitude because of a clear misunderstanding.
On arrival at the hotel, we were told there was a free massage, complimentary of our stay. However, when we enquired about the massage with a member of the spa, she explained that we had to pay for an hour massage, and we received 15 minutes free. This lady was very helpful and informative. We decided to treat ourselves and get a deep relaxation massage for €100 each. The massage itself was extremely disappointing. My partners masseuse seemed to be better then mine. I could also hear the two masseuses whispering to eachother throughout the massage. I understand it could have been work related, but it did not create a 'relaxing' atmosphere. After the massage, one masseuse brought us into a seating area where I expected to be left to relax and take in the spa area. Instead, the masseuse immediately tried selling another massage which she insisted was 'the best'. She kept asking how much time we had left, explaining how we had more time for more treatments. She then recited a sales pitch about two products we should purchase. I had to clearly say we weren't getting anything today and we would think about it. Its clear they work off commission, which I understand, as I have also. However, there is a time to upsell, and a time to understand that your client has payed a lot of money and let them appreciate the service they just received. My last note is that the last night had no entertainment whatsoever, which is odd for a tui package. I did enjoy my stay, but I would not return or get the all inclusive package. I would usually be quite easy to please, but this holiday was one of the more expensive packages we purchased and it was by far the most disappointing.

Arrived here feeling a little apprehensive but soon put at ease. We had the most wonderful welcome from reception and check in was quick.
Our room was spotless, with a nice bathroom and partial sea view balcony with 2 chairs with cushions. There was 2 wardrobes with plenty of hangers. Decorative cushions and tea making facilities had been removed because of Covid but at least this makes you safer. If you need drinks in your room take your own. I did and this was not a problem. We were told that the rooms would be cleaned every 3 days but ours were cleaned every other day. If you need towels, just ask and these will be supplied.
Early on there was a shortage of sunbeds but the hotel quickly rectified this. Yes if you want a prime spot you have to get up early but there is plenty around the pool bar. There is 2 infinity pools and there is bar staff that walk around all day to get you drinks but you can get your own.
Food in the pool bar is wonderful. Burgers, Spaghetti, Sandwiches, Pizza all cooked for you and served to your table. The main restaurant has a one way system and food is served for you. There is plenty of choice every day and everything is tasty. You would really need to be a picky eater to find fault. You need to book your meal slot on the hotel App to avoid an overcrowded restaurants but again this is for your safety.
If entertainment is your thing, there are singers for 5 days and music for the other 2. Again in the evening there is staff who will get your drinks. If you are not happy that they are serving other guests and you are waiting you can get your own at the bar.
The hotel and grounds are maintained beautifully. The is a spa which I did not feel the need to use as I was completely relaxed looking at the blue sea which was as warm as a bath on most days.
The biggest plus for the hotel is the staff. They are the most attentive staff I have ever known. Everyone from the maids to the manager wants to know if everything is fine and are you OK. The manager is hands on, not hiding away in an office and will be seen everywhere and loves a chat. One shout out would be for Fenia in the bar who smiles with you, chats to you, laughs at you but seriously all the staff should be given a pay rise as they made our time there truly special. We will be visiting again as soon as we can. Well done Blue Caraval.

My boyfriend and I visited here for 1 week on the 14th Aug and cannot fault this hotel at all. Food was amazing, not self service but due to COVID this was fine. The hotel is spotless and the grounds are beautiful. The best thing about this hotel is the staff and the service. They are so at tentative, bringing drinks, clearing tables, being friendly all whilst in blistering heat wearing masks and gloves. This hotel has it totally right for COVID, hand sanitizer everywhere, all staff wearing ppe, extra cleaning going on. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Special thanks to Costas who was fab at serving us drinks around the grassed sun bathing area, bottles of water & smoothies to us at regular intervals without us needing to ask! Hotel reception totally brilliant at organising a discounted late room at a small cost & the restaurant Manager was so helpful & friendly. Room was great, we asked for a quiet room and it was perfect! One of the nicest hotels, with the best staff I’ve ever experienced. Thank you for such a wonderful holiday especially in the difficult circumstances at present.

After several cancellations and trips carried forward due to the pandemic we took the plunge and booked the hotel in Tsilivi. Got a great deal through TUI as the hotel was obviously keen to make up on missed bookings last year and most of 2021. We took our 2 teenagers who themselves had struggled during lockdown due to University and schools being severely disrupted and it was just the break we all needed. Hotel is extremely clean and the staff amazingly friendly. Rooms were clean and bright if a little basically furnished. Clean towels every day and water supplied in the mini fridges. We had sea view rooms which were great and we could sit on the balcony in the morning and night with a glass of wine which was very relaxing. Never had a problem getting a sunbed even if we had a late breakfast. Public areas all spotless and the gardens an pools were all maintained to a high standard every day. We were expecting to have to wear masks in the public areas but once there it was only the staff that were wearing masks and gloves to serve us. Waiters were on hand to take drinks orders at your sunbed throughout the day and we never had to wait along time to get served. Queuing at breakfast and dinner in the main restaurant was a little chaotic but some days were better than others. Food was really good and the waiters were always on hand to top up your drinks and clear your plates. We ate ate at the snack bar most days but you have to book a table via the hotels app. So make sure you download this as soon as you can. All other activities have to be booked through this including aqua fit in the pool and the other organised sports. We were there for 7 days and allowed to use the a la carte Culinarium once during our stay as part of the all inclusive package. We managed to get in on our last night so make sure you get this booked as soon as you get there. Food was superb however and the service was faultless. Beach is lovely and the sea clean and very warm. We ate out on 3 occasions as the queuing in the main restaurant meant that all 4 of us never sat down together as we were all queuing for different things. Local restaurants on the beach were reasonably priced and had more of a traditional feel. There’s a supermarket just outside the entrance to the hotel so if you have forgotten anything you can get it there. There are two infinity pools which are fabulous and the larger one forms the backdrop for the evening entertainment which varies from local musicians to chilled out DJ sets and also a talk about Tutrtle conservation on the Island. As some people have said it’s not a 5 star hotel but having visited Greece before we were aware it wouldn’t be quite the same as a 5 star elsewhere. That said it was still pretty faultless and we had a fabulous time. COVID testing and form filling was fairly straightforward and we didn’t suffer any delays at the airport because of the extra paperwork. We were checked on the way out and when we landed in Zante but nothing when we arrived back in England despite having trouble filling in the PLF forms and the government web site crashing. As long as you plan well and get your tests booked you will have a great time. Would definitely recommend

Stayed here for two week's at the start of August. The grounds and views are amazing, in a great location.

The staff all work so very hard and are under extreme pressure from management (who don't get stuck in) when the hotel is so clearly short on staff across the resort. While I am fully away aware of the covid - 19 situation and appreciate the effort the staff put in having to work in hot temperatures I masks. Because there was only 2 pool boy waiters (Achilles & Constantine) who were absolutely fabulous and so pleasent and attentive there was only 1 Bar man serving the drinks for all the sun loungers and pools. Waiting up to 1 hour for a drink was a long wait, even if you went to the bar this wasn't quicker you were in a queue (perfectly happy with a good old fashioned queue) but to wait that long for a drink isnt a 5 star service.

There wasn't anything in the rooms (No Iron, no tea and coffee facility, mini bar which was advertised when booked only water). Also having to wait 3 days for fresh white towels was also very annoying and frustrating (This may have changed after we left). The rooms are very basic, we had an issue with our first room as was very dirty and right next to the delivery drop off we moved room to main block which was just as noisy, rooms are paper thin and can hear near enough everything.

Having to book for buffet, snack bar was also frustrating as you could never get in snack bar after this was brought in, while I understand the standing round waiting for a table wasn't working neither was the booking system as people couldn't get in and was empty tables.

The Al carte & snack bar was lovely food and staff were brilliant (Anna) made a special birthday cake for me and sang happy birthday, the girls all work very hard and long hours. (Betty was a credit also but she was made to move resorts).

No music or much entertainment during the day is also an annoying factor as it was very boring and dead.

Restaurant buffet is ok not the best, some food was served cold and ran out of puddings early in the night. Some things are repeated, pizza is always fresh. Greek night theme was the best, however the gala dinner was the busiest and queues were quite long.. Could do with some improvements I.e if you want just salad that you don't have to wait and go round the whole section queing for plate.

The hotel has some potentials and really hope that management take on critism and comments of improvements when guests address these issues during stays. Wishing all the hard working bar staff, waiters and waitresses the best.

Well, where do I start? Just come back after a weeks honeymoon from what I can only describe as the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The hotel itself is in one of the best locations in tsivili, right on the beachfront with amazing views, the view to your right as you walk into reception is just something else! The rooms are nice and you have a choice of two pools, one of which is used for a pool party once a week, the other is used daily for around an hour for exercise.

The main reason we booked to stay here was that it’s adults only, and it’s so peaceful during the day, just what we were looking for.

The staff were amazing, they literally waited on everyone all day and night, I only ever saw the bar area once, they are always walking round taking drinks orders no matter if your sat near the pools, or on the beach,at all times of the day and night. The same goes for the cooks and restaurant staff, all very friendly and make sure you don’t run out of drinks.

All the sun beds were really comfy, no cheap plastic rubbish, some of them are large bean bags which we didn’t get chance to use, but looked so comfy! You need water shoes if your going into the sea (the beach is sand)

The buffet food was really nice and something different on each day, the a La carté restaurant which you get to visit free once during your stay was very nice. The snack bar you need to book through the BLUE APP if you want to eat there, this is open until 4:30pm whereas the buffet closes at 2:30pm.

Entertainment on each night, the Elton John tribute was brilliant, looks like he’s a weekly regular there.

Varied age groups stay here, it isn’t full of a particular age group which is good to see.

I have one suggestion to the management team, put some cushions on the thin metal white chairs lining the outside area of the pool where people sit to watch the entertainment, everyone will thank you :-)

All in all it’s been an amazing week staying here, and we will definitely be back in the future. Thank you to all the staff for a truly amazing honeymoon!

I planned this holiday having on mind that it would be very special occasion for us as I was planning to propose to my gf to marry me. At the begging I had concerns about how special could will be as the restrictions in Europe and also in Greece were frighten me but upon our arrival my concerns fade up. We spent our week at A private pool (totally recommend it for special occasions) in which we’ve spent most of our day at.
Overall food was delicious ( sometimes a bit cold) and room Service which we preferred most of our stay rapid and chargeable of 12€ (not a big deal).
At the day of marriage proposal we took a boat to explore the island (highly recommended). While this time Chris arranged everything for us as the decoration of the room with balloons and flowers as well as a special decorated dinner at the culinary restaurant. We cannot thank this man enough for his help and for taking care for us during all our stay. Very customer concentrated. Special credits to all the staff as well. We will be back for our honeymoon

Do rooms in Block 3 have the newer bathrooms/showers? We have booked 305.

The sun beds around both pools have umbrellas, as well as the sun beds on the beach. The only beds that don’t have any umbrellas for shade are those on the pool.
